SM is a top-notched production company, PERIODT!! Also, I don't understand why this song seems underrated in terms of popularity and views comparing to other K-pop songs/artists/videos. A lot of nctzens don't like this song and i don't understand why, it's a really good song! It's a very SM style song, and one of NCT's most neo songs~
Partly it's because by the time this song/MV came out, a lot of korean nctzens boycotted 127 over because (hear this, bc it's gold) NCT was having promotions overseas and making promotions and Livestreams in English, so they got pissed that they were not having all the attention from the boys and decided to boycott Superhuman. Amazing isn't it?

It's really annoying specially for us i-nctzens because we always have to deal with waiting for subtitles, not being able to communicate with the boys, being left out as part of the fandom by the company, expensive shipment for the overseas purchases of albums and goods... yet they have to live it once and they decide to boycott them in one of the most amazing comebacks ever. Sigh. I feel bad for the mature knctzens who know that's not okay and still have to deal with these intense people's consequences.

if i remember correctly they had to postpone the mv release because they hadn't finished the video editing by the time of the release 😭 it was kinda a mess but thank god the mv is so good
Omg it was so worth it
That has happened a lot this year especially with SM. It seems the entertainment companies in Korea are either underestimating the amount of time that the editing and VFX houses need for video post-production, or some of those houses are saying they can do the work in less time than they really can in order to land the work. You hear about this a lot with feature films where there is so much CGI and VFX work and it is a made scramble to get it all done in time for the theatrical release date, so as MV's have more CGI and VFX work in them, but often much more aggressive timelines to release dates, this will happen more.
So once again, the conclusion is that Superhuman deserves better.

in regards to haechan’s scene at 11:45 or so, there is a third option for how it was done.
they could have filmed the whole thing with him acting backwards. and then they reversed the scene in editing. that concept was done in GR8U by VIXX (highly recommend giving it a watch just for the sake of it). the majority of it was filmed with the boys acting in reverse and then they reversed it in editing. they talked extensively about how they had to learn how to sing the song backwards for the sake of filming.
i have no idea how Haechan’s scene was done, but i think that’s a possibility?
I think his scene was made like in the movie 'Now you see me' (levitating water trick) ... Basically the rain drops fall and the light lights up to the same frequency as the camera's shutter speed. When it's done right you don't see the same drop lighten up every time but you actually see the drop a little bit above the last one. It all creates the illusion of water going up but it's actually falling down.
Definitely check it out on YT to understand what I mean 😅
I've seen ones where they sing backwards to make the shot work, or sing in slow/fast motion to make the shot work. But Haechan's mouth seems to move pretty normally so i don't think that was the case this one.

The water shot at 11:40 is reversed if you pay close attention, he sang the lyrics backwards, so they can transform it into this cool shot. Its even more apparent when its the closeup, since the rain falls down and his mouth movements are more natural.
Jordan's random pausing helped me see that it's Haechan coming through in the middle of the mirrored double Mark shot. What?! My eyes have been opened!

For me, half of the fun of watching your vids is seeing you *genuinely* enjoying parts of the visuals and/or music. You don’t seem to be *faking* excitement to pander to stans or make your videos extra hyped up. To me, this is what makes you so special! You are CLEARLY and OBVIOUSLY a professional based on your specific analyses that everyone goes “Oh snap! I didn’t realize that!” And ppl appreciate and understand better why they enjoy videos or find them interesting/fun to watch. Jordan Orme honestly if you were to react to any other nct mv, in my opinion you should react to nct dream’s Go 😳 its seriously unlike any other kpop mv, i cant think of any other mv that has the same style as Go. It has some pretty great editing too (well, at least in my opinion, I’m not professional or anything)

Even before I clicked on this video, I knew this reaction would be so good. I love when people who are experts in their own professional fields react and have great reviews on NCT, and offer so much insight on things that I would just plain marvel about, but not know quite how to explain it. As a HUGE fan of the superhuman era, I sometimes feel sad that its so underrated (the mainstream pop industry equals quality with money/success) and even regarded as a flop era even amongst fans, but I know that so much was put into it's production and it's one of the best works that NCT had to offer! So thanks so much for this great review, love from Korea!

It's such a masterpiece and yet sadly, this is one of their least viewed music videos 🤧
Its also the least kpop on the sound aspect except it did not lose the SM trademark aspect. Plus nct 127 kind of received some boycott during this era as the promotion was towards the western market. But this is an amv and a song u can show a non kpop fan and they will give this a shot.

I'm pretty sure for the part where he sings and the rain is going backwards, they film it with the singer singing the song backwards then reverse in post. I remember I had to do that in a school project.

This video is a verified sensory overload experience. But the performance I actually saw live before the song was released (I was so confused & sleep deprived I actually thought was a Michael Jackson cover or something until I realized he never spoke Korean)....
gave actual meaning to the word "Superhuman." It appeared in the encore which went on for about 45 minutes after they'd been performing for a good 2 hours. I'm on a team of dance fitness instructors & I can verify what they did is beyond the limit of an averege human being.

Superhuman is still one of NCT 127’s best releases (and it’s still my favorite)!! Compared to their other title tracks and eras this one is very underrated but the song is so fun, the choreo is great, and the mv is so interesting and detailed!! I’m glad you liked it so much~
