  • A miscellany of images taken by Percy Lawes in 1938 showing a very un-changed Avebury, in Wiltshire.
    The most remarkable change however, is seen in the outfits we wore back then - Mr Lawes filmed not just the famous stones, but the people who lived amongst them, from those going about their business, to the many children from the area who attended the village school.
