Thanks for this Kris. You are dead on with this advice. I think finding other artists that “get” what we do is so necessary in our growth. I just returned from a week long watercolor workshop and I am brimming with new ideas and techniques that have already moved me closer to where I want to be artistically. Community feeds our progress!

Yes! I completely agree. I also recently took a workshop and felt the same way. It is like "priming the pump" with inspiration and instruction. I wish you all the best in your journey. ~Kris

I’m loving it, and starting a small Plein Air group here in the French Pyrenees! Artists are naturally gregarious wanting to look at other work and show.

I love workshops/classes. They are a bit hard to find though. I live in a a town of 10,000 that has a college, but they don’t have classes. I have tried to find a plein air group also, but nothing around.

I have also taken online workshops and have found them to be very beneficial. They are also usually less expensive than their in-person counterparts. :-)

Do you have any recommendations for any plein air groups? I'm in the Seattle area so I know there's gotta be some fun ones around! Thanks!!

I really miss the Daniel Smith store! I was just starting watercolor painting right before all the covid closures so I never got a chance to go to any of their classes/workshops..so sad!

The Northwest Watercolor Society has a plein air group that paints weekly. You have to be a member of NWS. There is also PAWA - Plein Air Artists of Washington State. Check it out.
