This genre of music reaches those who may have fallen off the path and need a nudge to get them back to their faith. This genre reaches tweens/teens and adults and opens their minds, hearts and souls to God. This genre of music can be played and soothe one’s soul dealing with the hardships that come with life.
9:50… as a worship leader it almost made me cry hearing you talk about this. It is hard work and just want to say thank you for pointing out what you did. It’s like you were saying what it’s really like to do this. I appreciate that a lot as I’m sure soo many do.
Yes! I lead worship as well and it's a total vocal workout. You can't just show up and sing. There's a LOT of contentious effort involved with every vowel, carrying it through to the next phrase
SO true! Putting all this technical vocal work in it beforehand is key for being able to even make room for the Holy Spirit when it comes to actually leading worship and leading people into the presence of God. It's not like: Oh yeah let’s just lead worship and the Holy Spirit will just do it’s thing either way, so we don’t need the preparing and the effort. Sometimes there is this weird thought in christian society that preparing stops the Holy Spirit from being able to do his thing, but that’s so far from truth. It’s the same thing with preaching. I as a preacher put so much time and thought and effort into preparing a message, but not because I want to take away from the Holy Spirit or because I don’t want to make room for him. I do it because ONLY if I am prepared I can step back and be open enough for the Spirit to take over.
This is why rehearsal is important! Musicians in particular honor the Lord by giving their best, which requires practice, although never closed to the spontaneous unction of the Holy Spirit.
I am a voice teacher and a Worship Leader. I stumbled upon your video by accident. But there are no accidents. My pastor loves Elevation Worship so I do a lot of their songs. I had never seen this music video… chills! Not just the Holy Spirit, Amazing vocals, and incredible musicians but I have to point out the fim work! Absolutely brilliant! The quick shots of the audience just “roaring” and completely allowing themselves to be “lost in the moment.” This is great “worship” and great “worship leading!” Obviously led by the Holy Spirit, as the writing and performing of this song is. I will be putting it in our worship soon. Thank you for recognizing Christian Praise!🤗☝️✝️💜
The first this 70 year old lady heard Brandon Lake sing was at his church Seacoast. He is the worship leader there. I was visiting my daughter that moved to South Carolina. He sang This is a Move and I was grabbing anyone I could find after service to get the name of the song because it was so amazing. Since that time in 2020 I have bought several of his songs. Stumbled upon this while searching Chris Brown videos - I am absolutely intrigued by hearing your breakdown of this song & their vocals! I am not a singer, nor do I know much about the structure of music. What I DO know, is how I feel emotionally when hearing powerful, praise songs like this when I worship!! Brandon Lake & Chris Brown are game-changers when it comes to worship & praise & feeling what you’re singing. Thanks for this & I hope you continue to evaluate even MORE Christian Artists! 🥰
Brandon has one of the STRONGEST registers. Especially the lower part. so similar to the guy who leads red rocks worship. Would love to see a reaction to one of his songs
As church pianist/vocalist and part of the praise and worship team for several decades, I can tell you that it’s very important to practice, practice, practice to make your playing/singing look effortless.
As a worship leader who is naturally a "baritone" I really encourage you to work on expanding your vocal range, especially working on head voice and mix voice. You will find that you can do a lot of songs just by dropping the key a Semitone or two.
I was stuck as in a baritone range for so long but I just pushed myself (not hurting myself) to I can hit high notes my wife can’t and I can sing pretty far down the bass ladder! KEEP PRACTICING
Yeeesssss! two of my fav vocalists! Thanks for this! P.s. as a "foreigner" I wouldn't say that we sing "accent-less", we choose to sing with the "typical" American accent as that's the place of origin of the genre of song/music. If I sang music from my country with an American accent it would sound ridiculous lol
I had the privilege of seeing them perform this live prior to ever hearing it before and was blown away! It instantly became my favorite. The ranges and the determination of the tones and the urgency along with the low growling is phenomenal. I love Brandon Lake. He is my favorite worship singer/leader and when him and Elevation Worship are together, there is no denying that God is present in the room! They are all touched by God and He gave them each a wonderful gift that they are so kind to share with us.
This is my favorite song to listen to, sing and praise YHWH with. Words are completely on point, vocals are blessed with power. Frankly I could absolutely hear the angels in heaven sing this and not be at all surprised! Can't help but sing along. Been sending this link to everyone I know too.
I love how you guys talked about not only having the gifting, but also developing it and enhancing it through practice. Yes, all of these singers were gifted and anointed by God to be singers and lead people into His presence through worship… BUT ALSO they work and work and work on their gifting to be excellent! LION is one of my favorite songs, I loved this video!
You may critique his voice but the Lord spoke through him, that voice, the first time I heard him sing. I knew he had a message I wanted to hear. I love Maverick City music and Elevation Worship singers and songs. I listen and hear something that moves through me, my soul, makes me happy
Not many songs allow you to appreciate vocals. The beat over powers the songs, but elevation worship is the top of everything even outside Christian music
There are many worship leaders I love listening to but one I especially get excited to hear is anything from Amanda Cook. You guys should check her out because she not only has a wide range but also has such a powerful tone to whatever she sings.
Peter Furler totally sings in his Australian accent 😂 But Brandon Lake is actually from South Carolina so he does have a “southern style” when he sings. Love all these vocals.

Interesting points. I took the point about thinking higher while singing lower to prevent the excessive drop of the larynx to get “fuller” low pitches, and instead get a more richer low note with the higher frequencies /overtones not swallowed up / cut off. I first heard this from Tara Simon. Great you hear it reiterated by you guys.

Definitely feel you on Brandon’s “twang”. The first time I heard him sing, I could hear a little bit of Travis Tritt in there. Arguably one of the greatest country music vocalists of all time. Chris and Brandon are the best!! It’s literally a jaw dropper every time they combine forces!
Chris Brown's vocals improved so much all of a sudden back in 2020 ... I used to not be a fan of his until around then. Proof he worked really hard. Always loved Brandon Lake 🤩
I must say I was nervous to watch this video looking at the thumbnail because I really like this song and didn't want all my admiration for the vocals crushed. Super glad I finally decided to watch it because I learnt a lot and I'll admire the vocals even more now!
Wouldn't a voice teacher defeat the purpose of this song. It's really not about their voices, but it's great to see you listen to it and bring it to a new audience.
Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. Psalm 33:3 NKJV Voice teachers help people who want to learn how to skillfully use their voice. It's important to give God our best, playing skillfully takes dedication.
Its absolutely about their voices. They have use of their voices and use of their vocal cords. God is glorified is skillful use of the talents and gifts that he has give. As coaches they can teach others and use Elevation as a teaching point which is also validate
There are so many worship artists I wanna recommend now 😭 Brandon Lake is definitely up there for me. Sometimes when I can’t sleep at night I’ll play his live videos on my tv and just worship!
“It’s not about the quality of the voices, it’s about the anointing.” Guys, but it *IS* about the quality of the voices! Lol, these are *vocal coaches,* not prophets. I know Christians that don’t have “good singing voices” but are obviously anointed when they sing, but there’s no crime in a Christian having a good singing voice.
It’s so refreshing for someone to recognize the hard work that comes with singing because it’s not just the gods gift. You do have to work at it and to hit those notes you have to know which way to place your mouth where did suck air from all that. It is very very very technical so thank you.
There are singers then there are called to lead worship and thats where most Christians are confused . There are people that can sing but what happens when people that are called to lead worship then its all about the annointing . God moves through music and worship and thats what I see here. Its their minsitry and calling .
Melia and Chase, Awesome work! We just found your channel and immediately our daughter said this couple supported our youth at Panzer chapel in Stuttgart. We PCS shortly after you guys arrived but our daughter quickly found photos of you guys pouring into the youth. Thank you for all that you do!

Yes! I love the clarity of his voice in this. And I always love a well done minor worship song. There are more minor hymns out there but not a lot of modern.
As a worship leader, I loved what y’all said. A lot goes behind the scenes to what is show. on sunday morning. I’m constantly working in my car in my home on runs and different melodies that I can pull on a sunday morning! Loved this, definitely got a new sub today! :) you should watch Phil Wickham’s “Heaven Song” off of singalong. Vibrato is emaculate
Loved this analysis. Keep it up! Not only did you guys identify sounds so precisely and explained it well, it was an entertaining video to watch. Thanks for reacting to a worship video, worship leaders put a lot of effort to sound good and lead the congregation and the effort is being recognized.
As a worship leader who leads at multiple services a weekend, who uses a fair amount of growl and vocal fry in my singing I will typically go on pretty strict vocal rest Monday and Tuesday (absolutely no singing), start practicing vocally on Wednesday, rehearsal with my team Thursday night, only sing scales Friday, practice with no growl or fry on Saturday and then church on Sunday. I drink a LOT water, a couple of Starbucks Medicine Balls on Sunday and then throat coat tea starting Sunday after service through Tuesday. Seven years ago I had surgery to remove a small tumor on my chords and this is the system that my surgeon and rehabilitative vocal coach came up with and I still do it today
I am absolutely obsessed with Brandon Lake’s voice. He can sing any song and bring it to a level never experienced before. Truly a gift from God this man’s voice is! And, at the same time, is such a spiritual person. Love his voice and the example he sets for us all.

Thank you all so much.
I have zero education on music, but I live by music, constantly listening. I'm all about Chris Brown, love all his stuff. Brandon Lake is amazing too.
React to Chandler Moore! He’s a worship leader from Maverick City and the song called “No one & You really are” with Elevation Worship is insane!
I completely agree! “You really are” really showcases his voice well!
Chris brown and brandon lake crush it! God bless you both for doing this video!
I love Chases fascial expressions on this video😁 you can tell when he's really feeling the music, and even their voices
Great video! You should react to Taya Smith, from Hillsong United. Her voice is amazing!
YES YES YES! Her album!! 🔥
She is awesome. On point every time.
I agree! I’m so glad she’s got her own solo album out now. She’s currently my favorite.
Do NOT take the j,a-b it is one way of a few different ways to take the m,a-r,k! I was told this strait forward in an audible vision.
You should react to Maverick City Music they have the most GORGEOUS voices I have EVER heard
Wouldn't a voice teacher defeat the purpose of this song. It's really not about their voices, but it's great to see you listen to it and bring it to a new audience.

Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. Psalm 33:3 NKJV
Voice teachers help people who want to learn how to skillfully use their voice.
I had 100% the same reaction to Brandon Lake's higher "Roars."
They have God gifted 🎁 voice full of melody
This is my boys and my favorite song that we crank up and belt out!! Love Chris and Brandon!
The tip about lower ranges definitely resonated with me 👍
Pun intended?
@@jamiematthews9525 Why, definitely 👍
It’s so refreshing for someone to recognize the hard work that comes with singing because it’s not just the gods gift. You do have to work at it and to hit those notes you have to know which way to place your mouth where did suck air from all that. It is very very very technical so thank you.
There are singers then there are called to lead worship and thats where most Christians are confused . There are people that can sing but what happens when people that are called to lead worship then its all about the annointing . God moves through music and worship and thats what I see here. Its their minsitry and calling .
Brandon Lake is the best thing to happen to contemporary worship music in a long time
the last roar he lets out in the bridge is just CHEFS KISS, they are so talented!!!!!!
Please react to Tiffany Hudson...I really feel like her voice is one of the most unique out there...
Brandon Lake Talking.to Jesus is amazing
me as a christian i love branden lake i love him he is awesome
Melia and Chase, Awesome work! We just found your channel and immediately our daughter said this couple supported our youth at Panzer chapel in Stuttgart. We PCS shortly after you guys arrived but our daughter quickly found photos of you guys pouring into the youth. Thank you for all that you do!
I goosebumps as soon as the piano started playing
I love that song!!😍🥰🎶 Hooray for Brandon Lake & co!!🙌🏽💯
I reference the first part of how Chris is singing less nastily and more forward, the songs also in a minor key which is rare for worship so I love that they just got to make the most of it. Love the vid guys!
you should watch Phil Wickham’s “Heaven Song” off of singalong.
Dude I tell people all the time Chris Brown and Brandon Lake from Elevation Worship are like some of the best focus I’ve ever heard!
1st time hearing this. I’m just caught up in Heaven right now. Worshipping the Lamb
My son sent me this one day and it blew me away! I was working in the front flowers bed and thru Bluetooth I blew it out thru my Truck with all of the windows open over and over! Couldn’t get enuf!
I can’t explain it but every single time I listen to this song I feel like crying lol, like not a bad cry but it makes me emotional every single time
I was on praise and worship. You have to practice daily by yourself and multiple times a week together
This was my first time listening to a breakdown of the technical aspects of specific vocalists. It was fascinating! I love to sing but have no idea what I actually sound like to the trained ear - probably don’t want to know. I’m eager to check out some of your other videos.
There is power in this song
I just went to their concert in Knoxville tonight!!!! You’re spot on with your video and it’s awesome to see you in worship mode while listening and explaining! Awesome video ❤️🙌🏻
Used to sing Lion of Judah in Church in the 90s.
I love that version.
@@Dairyfreeginger Not my Will but YOURS be DONE!
The call re-call on Roar is absolutely incredible while also climaxing is such a moment!
