I really like your content sir . I just have one question. I am planning my trip in May . Can I rent bike in Manali and take it to zanskar and padum village.?
It depends on your bike, where you want to mount, and quantity you will carry. Bladders are easy to carry when there is no fuel in them, they don't take up space but are costly. While Jerry Cans are cheaper in comparison, more sturdy but they will need to be mounted properly and can carry less fuel on bikes. Here are some links that can help you: 10-Ltr Fuel Bladder Link: amzn.to/3ZZd1xP 5-Ltr Jerry Can for motorcycles: amzn.to/41UTp0k 20-Ltr Jerry Can for cars: amzn.to/41UTp0k
Dear Dheeraj, I am planning a family ladakh trip from kerala with my Alcazar diesel automatic car. Car Ground Clearance 200 mm Tyre 215/55 R18 My plan as follows: start from kerala first week of May 2025 Reach Srinagar by middle of May 2025 then ladakh trip starts Day 1 - Srinagar - Kargil Day 2 - Kargil - Leh Day 3 - Leh Day 4 - Leh - Hunder Day 5 - Hunder - Pangong lake - Hanle Day 6 - Hanle - Umling La - Pang Day 7 - Pang - Keylong Day 8 - Keylong - Manali Please advice on the above itinerary. Is snow chains are a must for the selected time (May 3rd week) / route? Waiting for your valuable advice Best Regards Rafeek
The itinerary is very very hectic and planning with family it can be much more hectic.. I will not suggest you plan such an itinerary with family. Also, the timing of your trip is when generally they recommend snow chains with non 4x4 cars and also Manali Leh Highway being open or not will be very much unfavourable. this year Manali Leh got open early but never got open to tourists before June

if the manali shinkula road gets open then yes you can take the bike rented from manali to padum
@discoverwithdheeraj do I need a permit or something
no permit needed if you take the Atal Tunnel route to Zanskar - Padum via Shinkula Pass
Sir which one is good for carrying fuel bladder or Jerry cans please suggest ❤
