I love your video I have to make a tree trunk cake and I will definitely use your technique but I’m afraid to use the dark brown or black coloring on the trunk because when people eat it wouldn’t their mouth and teeth get black. it’s kind a like eating blue frosting when you were young and your lips your teeth and your tongue all turn blue there will be no kids eating this cake I just don’t want to see adult teeth and lips black and brown. Did this happen with your cake?
Hi. Hope you are well. I am so glad to hear you enjoyed the video. I have mental images of your blue stained mouth description now 😄😄 The colouring won't stain their teeth or lips, because you water it down with a little bit of water or vodka (the alcohol completely evaporates so no alcohol taste either). You will see in the video after painting with the gel colouring I paint over it with a little bit of water to fade the colours and create a water paint effect. Just make sure when using water you use very little as fondant and water normally done go together. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any other help and I will gladly assist
