    Hello I could cry this was so very informative! I was diagnosed last June with MGUS and sediment rate high first time now. Things off but m protein not present. I have peripheral neuropathy. Lessons in my brain. The answers are finally coming!!

    Would have been nice if, instead of just saying it's important to understand your labs, he gave the parameters to be able to do this example. Hemoglobin

    MGUS asymptomatic? I was diagnosed with MGUS last year and have had excruciating bone pain for the past 4 years. I will be going for a 2nd opinion at another hospital as I keep hearing that I shouldn't be having this much pain, weight loss, nausea, etc.

    I have mgus ankylosing spondylitis, bone pain,nerve pain. I also suffer primary lymphedema. I think they are all connected. Isn't lymph fluid plasma really??

    My ratio says 1.98....how does that relate to the ratio of 100 that you mentioned

    i have rising kappa light chains and K/L ratio. what number is consider " too high take action " for these? can't find info

      Hello, thank you for reaching out to us!
      Depending on your precursor condition (MGUS or SMM) we need to check for different thresholds. For SMM a Serum M-protein ≥3 g/dL, or urine M-protein ≥ 500 mg/dl or clonal bone marrow plasma cells 10-60% WITH absence of myeloma-defining events (SLiM CRAB) means you are still under that condition and have not developed myeloma. For MGUS, Serum M-protein < 3 g/dL,
