- Debate continues over a proposed LDS temple in the northwest part of the Las Vegas valley. Channel 13's Abel Garcia spoke to several locals who have mixed reactions after commissioners voted to recommend plans to the Las Vegas City Council.
Religious organizations are bequeathed special exemptions because they are supposed to serve ALL the citizens in spiritual and social needs, not just their members. Cathedrals, Temples, churches and their grounds must be open and accessable to all to respectfully enter, to quietly sit, or rest, to seek refuge for their own reasons. If not, they they are a private club that perform private religious ceremonies and no longer exempt as a religion. These private clubs and their tax breaks that only benefit them have cause resentment and disgust toward religion. That private fenced-in 'temple' where most of their own congregation cannot attend doesn't honor or respect the locals who all agreed on building heights and dark sky light restrictions for the entire areas benefit. This just looks like a rich organization bullying their way in becaseu they need spend the organiztion's obscene wealth (gotten on the theft and oppresion of the Native Indians) on appearance instead of actually doing the good and needed work for the average and poor that Jesus Christ advocated for. Jesus Christ tor the temple down on this. For that he was crucified (not for our sins, he was a social changer)

And there is no need for "Latter Day Saints" to receive the word of Christ in United States (literally, what they believe) as Jesus' crucifixion some 2000 years prior to the fabrication of the this heretical religion is sufficient for the world to know Him. Ironically, they believe that a Native American named 'Mormon' and his son 'Moroni' transcribed the history of the world on "golden texts" written in "reformed Egyptian" that somehow Joseph Smith found & had translated by the arch-angel Michael who appeared to him. There's a separation of church and state in this country. It would create a huge legal problem if the Council tried to shut it down and prevent observance of a religion which is allowed in other parts of the country.
@@rconger24That doesn't mean anything. This is talking about religious buildings being open to all members of the public during normal hours. With a Mormon Temple, not even all mormons are allowed to enter. I know because I once was a member of the elite circle of card-carrying mormons.

I don't blame the locals . The Mormons can take a little drive to the next town and go to that temple . It's definitely not a crowded place and theirs no sense having one on every corner that ruin everyone else's view .
