I'm about to do the same thing now on a 72 fastback. The tail panel has to come out anyway, so I figure I will use the M438 full pan. What size drill bit do you use for the plug welds, and do you think I'll have any issue sliding the full pan in without modifying the inner wheel wells like you did ?
Thanks for watching. I explained it in the video. there are two types of trunk pans. This was a shorter one, so I was able to go in through the trunk with a bit of flexing. The larger trunk pan, would be more difficult if not impossible to do that.. I purchased that pan 15 years ago, so that was the one at the time. I hope this helps. Have a good one..
Putting undercoating inside of a car must be common among lazy morons who have no experience or desire to be good craftsmen. I found the same situation in my 1971 fastback where the car was patched up and sprayed to cover up the work to sell the car. I bought a paint job like so many other fools.I also found alot of rust and big collision damage that I couldn't see as the had been sitting for 3 decades with a big Cleveland hiding the damages. I am spending alot of money fixing the car as it should have been years ago. There are so many scammers that are selling these rust buckets who will not feel guilty about what they are doing to a great hobby. The scam would not hurt so bad if it was a Mach 1 instead of a base fastback. I also had to have the Cleveland rebuilt as nothing on the car was properly maintained.
That's a lot of work, pretty messy. You did a great job.
Thanks.. Yah pretty messy job. Was not looking forward to the TAR removal.. But it is done. Stay tuned for the Drop offs and Wheel Wells.

Not sure about the Fast Back but you may not have an issue with the trunk pan.. I use a 3/8" bit, seems to work good for me..
how did you slide the pan in?
