I am so glad you are finding them useful Peter. I suppose that is the benefit of a back catalogue of tips. Eight years of providing content adds up. Keep on enjoying them. Brian
I ran across this four year old video while looking for a pitching video on 30, 60, 90 yards (which I didn't find), I've been playing this game a long time Brian, but have never used a driver as you suggested as a chipping option. I agree with you on the hybrid and eight iron. Although the SW (the shot that almost went in for you) was your choice of clubs, I would probably feel more comfortable with the GW. All good shots Brian to have in one's arsenal. Good Job!
Glad you liked it Anthony! Its a bit weird hitting a driver but it is just so easy.... Not that I recommend using it as a first choice. Thanks for watching. Brian
Thanks Brian for a great video. This is the part of my game I need to explore better. I have worked out I loose about 4 shots per round from maybe playing a different approach shot, and instead of getting my 56 wedge, I now will use other options.
High 5 Bob. That is something to celebrate. I still remember the first time I broke 90. What an achievement. If you can focus on 50 yards and closer and try to get your ball into the hole for no more than 3 shots from this distance you will definitely lower your golf score. Thank you for the update and keep at it. Brian
Thanks Brian - those options look great - I haven't tried using the driver but will give it a go. I have found the 3 hybrid and the 5 wood often bring me good results. Your tips on the chipping (turning the shoulders and using the coffee cup drill) have also been very helpful. I still struggle when the ball is say 70 - 90 metres out, particularly if there is a wind blowing into my face, I need to use more club but often underestimate it! Thanks for your very helpful tips.
My pleasure Steve. I am glad I have been able to help you. Straighter faced clubs are certainly the best for hitting running chips. It takes technique right out of the equation. Try pitching with your 9 or 8 irons as well as your wedges. It will help you with those 70- 90 m shots. Keep at it Brian
Good advice Brian. This situation is my weakness and invariably costs me shots. Either too long or a duff and short. Have had more success with a seven iron length hybrid. My head says don't underestimate the length but then tells my arms to swing shorter and guess what ? The first head instruction is generally correct. Will try to be stronger willed this season. Thanks and stay well.
Hey David This distance is one of the cornerstones to improving your score. If you can get the ball into the hole in three shots or less from here you will definitely lower your golf score. Just a thought but try to use a shallower angle of attack on these shots. Think putting more than pitching. "u" shape more than "v" shape. I hope the snow melts so you can get on the course to try this out. Brian
This is my problem distance! I have been using the hybrid more recently with good results. Several mishits turned out to be great shots! Second choice is chip and run.
Hi Chet. The same as before. I just found your comment. Distance control is everything. Some of my recent videos have covered this area if you are still having problems. I hope you are well. Brian

Ha ha. I am a bit weird John.
Give the driver a go for fun. It’s remarkably easy and requires very little skill.
Thus could be what you were looking for John.

I appreciate your feed back Geoff.
I am so pleased your blinkers are off and looking for other options.
You are a great student.

Hey Brian: thanks to your tips I finally broke 90! This distance is crucial for me, and these tips will help too.

Thanks Brian - I have been trying the 8 & 9 - maybe it's a mind thing as well! I'll keep working on them.
If you still have trouble you could always have a 1 on 1 lesson.

Nice shot with the sand wedge
Thank you. I was pretty happy with them all in fact. All consecutive shots no rehearsals no retakes. It was a good day.
Thanks for commenting.

80 90 100 yards was terrible for me today. 😂
Keep working on it.
Keep the swing the same and change the club.

@@fitzygolfpro Hybrid chipping worked again today and getting better! Another sub 100 round scored today. Short game is making progress!
Well done Chet. Thanks for the update and congratulations on another sub 100 round.
Keep at it and sub 90 is not far away.
fitzygolfpro Sub 90 is close. Shot best ever 92 yesterday. 21 putts on the front, 11 putts on the back. Your videos and suggestions are very helpful!
