In 2010, BABYMETAL was formed a unit on the theme of "Kawaii METAL" (The meaning is mix of J-POP IDOL and HEAVY METAL). The music video of "DOKI DOKI☆MORNIG" was published on RUclips, then access from overseas flooded with many comments shocked, and its presence have spread not only in Japan but also to overseas such as North America, South America, Europe and Asia. BABYMETAL is starting to receive attention beyond the idle and beyond Japan, and they are pursuing the road of the only one instead of the number one.

この頃からもうこれだけ色々と作りこまれた曲と世界観があったんだね
なんていうか総合エンターテイメントって感じで色んな楽しさを与えてくれるね

答えていたね、ライブ画像のDVDを5本以上隠し持ってるが、毎日、WEMBLEYかTOKYODOMEのDVDを見てる、何故隠す
、妻に笑われるから。良い年してなんて、定年退職者だから。
パフォーマンス最高ですね！まったく真逆のジャンルの融合だけど、いい感じでカオス感出てて面白いと思います！最近のアイドルソングの動向が気になり過ぎて、気づいたらアイドルソングにハマってる自分・・。

嘘か真か、プロデューサー曰く、２０１１年には既に海外からオファーがあったでそうですから。見る人が見れば、たとえ充てぶりバンドやカラオケで歌っている少女（というか、幼い、小さいくて幼女にしか見えない！）でも類まれなるものをパフォーマンスから分かるのでしょう。正直なところ、ファンの自分にはこの頃は海外だ、世界だという考えは思い浮かばないし、そういう言葉を口にしていたら苦笑いしてしまうかもしれませんｗ
こんな小さい頃からダンスもダイナミックで素早い動きが出来て軽快だね。
3人ともリズム感も運動神経も抜群だね。
激しいダンスしても歌が安定しているスーちゃん。すごすぎ。

Someone linked this one to me in a chat room. I just can't get enough of it. The blend of heavy metal with cute little Asian girls as the lead singers is utterly bonkers and insane. Or it could just be brilliant. I love it.
This is a live music video which basically works like a music video but with live footage so the audio is from the studio recording, alot of bands are doing this now. As of 2013, their live performances are not lip synced and have a full live backing band that actually play their instruments.

It may be weird..but it's from Japan, which means its quality and by god it's catchy!

Well it's the same as the other subgroups of Sakura Gakuin (Main idol group where the girls came from). Suzuka (The older girl) 'graduated' from the main group and like other 'graduates' started a subgroup which is based around a theme which is supposed to be like a school club, so there's one with a cooking club theme and one with a science club theme and Babymetal is supposed to have a heavy metal theme. Jpop is quirky like that so it might seem exploitative but its just to be cute and fun.

My older sisters boyfriend always played metal so it was the first music I ever had any memory of, and I love it as life it self. But come on. This is awesome! You can always depend on the Japs for putting a smile on your face! I heard this band for the first time yesterday and I can't stop watching this videos now =P

Damn. Japan just showed everyone up in 3 different genre's with 1 song.
I like this because there's the cliche that one of the most helpless yet adorable things in the world is a little Japanese school girl -- but here we're seeing three of them metaphorically kicking your judgmental face in with loud fast music. I like the symbolism of a razing, destructive, rebellious force being unleashed from where you least expect it.
This music, those girls, and the entire act is awesome, and if I get off on anything, it's that the people on the wrong side can't handle it.\m/

it's a studio-made band, a very commercial thing. this three girls are there just because they look cute, they don't write the songs, I don't even think they understand what heavy metal is about. in fact if you see interviews they look and act like typical idols. also I didn't say I see something sexual about it myself, but it's a fact, fetish towards young girls is COMMON expecially in japan, and those who started this band know it well. this is my opinion and I might be wrong, no need to rant
well I can only say that the two little girls are like just the dancers, and its pretty funny to watch.

Even better. This is a bold and brilliant song! How many times have you seen pop, metal, techno and hiphop working well in the same song? Maybe Babymetal will show the world that going out of the box is a good thing... isn't that exactly what the music industry needs?
Reticuli The skeletons are never real musicians, obviously. But BM do play with a live band, and all the music is written by incredibly talented musicians. The lead singer, Su, has an amazing voice and the two younger girls are pretty amazing dancers. Face it, BABYMETAL are awesome!!!

they're a subunit of a group that does the typical idol pop you want them to. they formed this unit because they enjoy this kind of music and want to perform it.
i agree that this song is one of their weaker releases, but since then they've become more interesting musically and lyrically.
also, "hateful and violent"? that's a really dull and stereotypical view of a genre which can be richly interesting. it sounds like something a 14-year-old girl would say

Even with faked BU they are good. Early history stuff like this I can see how Amuse let Koba go all in and invest millions and time and also get awesome Kami band. Talk about a great investment.
I don't think they invested millions very often, they always waited for the money to be returned before investing again. Most of the 'profit' that was made got re-invested in Babymetal I think. Maybe they did spend millions for Tokyo Dome.

I think anyone with more than mild familiarity to japanese music can notice this group is marketed specificilly to males, sure you have your female fan every now and then but the target here is obviously males.
