- The Sound of Music is my guilty pleasure and having discovered recently that Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews were attracted to each other while filming the movie made it all the more intriguing. I decided to make a fanvid which hasn't turned out exactly as I would have liked but it'll have to do.

I'm only realizing this now, mostly because the last time I saw anything about the sound of music I was ten, but the captain and Maria remind me of my paternal grandparents, especially their old photos together.

I think this is the best video of the two of them out here. When I was a little girl, he was my very first celebrity crush and up until this day it has not changed. They share such chemistry, such caring, and the acting was so sublime- little glances, little moments, nothing dramatic but so obvious. Thank you.

yes, he is absolutely handsome. It is all about his eyes, his eyes can speak, whisper the words of love near your ears almost.
I know even when I watched as a little girls many years ago, I was already drowning into his beautiful eyes.
Just saw the musical recently, I guess I have to say watching Cameron Daddo playing as Captain Von Trapp is honestly even more handsome. I couldn't take my eyes off him and I actually ended up waiting in the cold for him twice just to get his autograph and being able to held tightly against him for pictures. He is just as Captain handsome, tall, beautiful eyes and smile. way too attractive and absolutely difficult to keep your mind clear when you see him.
However, the chemistry from this most classical dancing scene was missing in the musical, because it is all about the chemistry that is built up here through this dance. It is just amazing.
Though I still praise Cameron Daddo, way too handsome for attractive as Captain Von Trapp. :)

so beautifully done. Very romantic and even more so with that little attraction discovery during filming. The is something so much more compelling and stirring in seeing the subtelties of their growing and then professed love. The scene at the gazebo is a true heart stopper. Perhaps one of the best in Hollywood history (yes, I know there are TONS more..)

Wow this is just so beautiful! I just love it my all time favorite movie! I was such a very young child my family we would go and see it so many times that I have lost track. I would dream of being Maria I had such a crush on Christopher Plummer. A very beautiful video you put together thank you. I was very moved watching this. I had tears in my eyes beautiful memories. And a very beautiful song to it.
As a dude I'm more into the action/superhero/suspense thriller/horror genre, but I remember as a kid growing up and watching musicals such as Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Annie etc .. Think I need to rewatch these types of movies again to relive my childhood ☺.
Then I'm grateful that you took the time to watch this. Sometimes watching a gentle, feel good movie is good for the soul! (Mind you, I'm a sucker for the action movies and heroes too!)

When Maria says she can't face the Captain again she sounds like a young girl, slightly ashamed of her feelings and then when she says she doesn't know if she's in love with him, she sounds so desperate and confused... such an important scene for the movie!

littleguinea Yes. That was a big compliment. By "I wanted to hate this", I was meaning that, often, trying to pair such a classic thing with a modern pop song just ends up silly, but it worked beautifully and the choices of clips and the editing were wonderful. I got the feelz.

They were attracted to reach other? Wow,I thought they hated each other? And plummer was dating the actress playing the eldest daughter
They have become lifelong friends.
nenabunena i dont think he dated the actress playing leisel but he admitted they would flirt around the set and nothing more. I think chris plummer did say some nasty stuff before but he did regretted it. He and Julie are the closest of friends to date. For me they will be forever soulmates.
