Sailing is one of the things that has saved my life.
2019 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. It spread to my lungs and I was told I had a 20% survival rate.
I found sailing in that time, all I thought about and watched was sailing all through my operations and treatments.
Went to the local yacht club and found a boat to race on and now I have a cruising sailboat of my own. I thank god and I thank god for sailing.
And I thank you ❤️

The color or colour of your new boat is outrageously gorgeous . I can only imagine how excited you are to move in and start sailing.
For your nav desk, don’t glue those down. Have them laminated. Then get a piece of tempered glass cut and beveled the same size as the desk. Put the laminated papers in place on the desk and lay the glass over them (hoping you have some sort of edge or fiddle to keep it in place). This way everything is protected and easily cleaned, but also can be changed/rearranged too.

A video explaining the safety precautions you've included in the design plan to protect the kids, below and above deck at all times. Thanks as many families are sailing with small children it would help us understand.
The kicking up on impact part of the rudder is actually an old Bernd Kohler design. His original design uses either springs or bungees to reset the rudder position to vertical immediately after the impact. He also had a design that allowed the rudder to lift vertically to enable access to shallow water and to enable his smaller designs to be easily trailerable. Its great to see you're thinking like highly experienced naval architects and breathing new life into old ideas.

A good idea for the posters is sheets of acrylic. It will give a durable surface, protect the poster, and make it easy to change. You could even use dry erase markers over the top for fun. Use screws or magnets on the corners to sandwich the sheet and poster onto the surface.
What you guys are doing for the sailing community is honestly amazing, cant wait to see what the future holds for you two - keep it up guys!
Congrats on the Rudder. That’s a big deal and accomplishment. I hope it works out perfect. I’m sure it will. Just on a more broad subject here. It’s amazing that you “only have” about 2 million subs. It’s kind of like RUclips’s best kept secret. Your channel adds value to the RUclips space. There are many creators who may have more subs (not that sub count matters to you) but most of them aren’t contributing near the quality of content that you provide all of us.. You have brought sailors and non sailors together and have created a sailing community, all of which, if they aren’t already, would like to become sailors. The way you have taken your life and made it relatable to the every day person is an accomplishment. Your passion and enthusiasm for life in general is what is so attractive. And it’s what draws your community together. Anyhow, not to linger on. Keep it up guys.
I am a non sailing sailor! I sailed in Byron Bay when we lived in Australia and fell in love with how quiet and peaceful it was. ( on a perfect day) However, I have been land locked for thirty years and so I now sail vicariously. Thank you for taking me along on your journey.
Rapido isn't the first yard to offer a T-foil rudder. Dazcat has them on some of their boats and works exactly as intended. Much less hobby-horsing with no major downsides.

At last it’s all coming together and it’s so exciting and it’s just wonderful to see you two so happy and moving forward and the boys are growing… even look a little different and always cute. You've asked what feeling you get from sailing. I've always said for me it's like flying! I've always loved the quiet ( when you can finally shut off the engine )! I sold my boat this past spring, as my 65 year old body can no longer take the rigors of sailing. My younger sister and I had a lot of fun sailing the coast of Maine for years, but all things must come to an end. So now I will have to live vicariously through you guys. Great to see you with your new boat !
Not a sailor, but i am kitesurfer, and as one i can feel the wind in ways i can not describe, the pull from my kite trowing me into the sky, the fins of my board cutting the water like smooth butter, the ability of feeling every single wind gust because the kite is attached to you, those beautiful cotton candy sky sessions that heal my soul, i couldn’t live my life without this beautiful sport!🥰 Sailing is everything to me!
