I mean, I agree with the Cyberpunk stuff, but Minimal Wave's (if you actually mean that and not some fad I don't know) closer to the origins/roots of goth than even Artésia and friends…
You have 10000000% right Asteria I was mad because a new minimal wave mix which name I won't betray made me from a text on a song furious angry because minimal wave with the 80's has change a little but no problem I am already forgot that insident however my experience with Goth music started back in 78 in Athens Greece when I was 9 and my older Greek cousin 24 Ilias had an oldsmobile Zephyr with one of the first blasting loud audio Radio unit in hi-fi equipment for playing or recording audiocassettes which was moreexpensive than the oldsmobile and had the third album of Kraftwerk "Man Machine" I think it came out in 76 however Kraftwerk are the pioneers from Minimal Wave Coldwave Darkwave Post-Punk New Wave and all the Eletronic music Genres of this day and age and every night we drived through the streets of Athens city on high speed making all the streets unsafe with my music addiction of that time Kraftwerk and after in 83 here in the heart of Antwerp City of Paranoid Paradise Belgium was every Saturday night in the big hall of the Kickbox gym "Mu-Chin" a New Wave party tough with coldwave darkwave postpunk but here in Antwerp they had all one name and that was New Wave I miss extreemely much the 70's and the 80's because it was another planet that I was living
