It’s meant to make your skin softer and moisturized. It definitely doesn’t dry in a hard shell like you wanted it too lol and you don’t need the ice bath. Just keep the heat settings on low 😆

As a French person (and student in teaching linguistics...) I must correct you and say that the exquisite corpse was not at all invented by Frida Kahlo but by a group of famous French surrealists authors and poets and mostly by Jacques Prévert. :)
Of course it was invented by a pervert lol.
We were taught that it was "mostly" André Breton, but yes, French surrealists, regardless. It was also started as a word game, which only later moved to images. The phrase "exquisite corpse" was used, because it was in one of the group's favorite results of the game: "Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau." ("The exquisite corpse shall drink the new wine.") It was played by the surrealists starting around 1920. I had never heard that Frida Kahlo ever had anything to do with the game, but she apparently enjoyed the drawing version. Still, seeing them say that was just weird.
Here in Guatemala we believe it was invented by Guatemalan national hero and revolutionary Jorge Buttstúf.

I imagine it’s to make it set up faster but it takes only a few seconds without ice so...
Paraffin wax is used majorly for two things: in spas for relaxation and skin moisturizing, and for joint pain! I have no clue why they used the ice water though lol. The wax only takes a second to set hard anyway.
Probably to make it cold so it wouldn't soften when they dip again.
