- I used G48 coolant/antifreeze purchased locally to top up the vehicle coolant on my UK spec Tesla Model S 100D.
I ended up needing to add 2.5 litres! I suspect this had never been topped up since the vehicle was made. The vehicle certainly doesn't appear to be leaking.
Excuse the breath condensation and cold hands in the video it was -8C (17F).
This ended up being a small coolant leak with the 3-way valve (not the 4-way). The new valve cost £47. Tesla did it all for £280. Took 2h. The first top up lasted a month. But it became more frequent.
Thanks for the video. Did the error code go away after you topped it off?
@@edwardfechser5777 the error code went away after I topped it up, yes. Stayed away for a few months. But came back. Turned out to be a leaking 3-way valve.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks George for the video!
I have the same problem on my model X.
This ended up being a small coolant leak with the 3-way valve (not the 4-way). The new valve cost £47. Tesla did it all for £280. Took 2h. Had it done literally yesterday, like 1 day ago! 😁
Coolant can also leak into various places within the car frame and not show up outside the car. As it builds up, it can cause damage. So if you don't see coolant outside the car, it's best to not just keep adding coolant. It needs to be fixed.
It was. £280 and 2 hours, and Tesla had it all done. It was fixed a day or so after this video.
If it’s low, where did it go😮
Mostly on my driveway via a leaking 3-way valve.
I have a 2014 model s and I got it in 2018 and took me til Nov 2023 to get this error. I didn’t know the car had coolant
Currently in my model s 2021 coolant is at nom line.im getting error air condition low and fast charging is. reduced.my coolant is at NOM do you think I should try to top up coolant to max or its another problem thanks
my hose in the back popped off front motor disabled and power reduced
Did the service center have to repair, or did you do it yourself. I just got the low coolant and front motor disabled and "limp mode"
