#10. The First Parody
#9. “The Doctor Games”
#8. Behind the Scenes
#7. Facing Thatchos
#6. “The Web of Caves”
#5. The Eurostar
#4. “Super Café Who’s a Hero”
#3, #2, #1: ??? - Развлечения
Mark Gatiss playing a spoof Doctor and then becoming one of Doctor Who’s writers is so awesome.
I'm not sure if the Catherine Tate Lauren sketch with Tennant qualifies as a Who parody, but I think it does and it's awesome (do you fancy billy piper, sir?).
Also the Hillywood's should be on the list.
The five-ish doctors is the best tho, it's consistently very funny and at the end I dare to say... emotional.
Billle piper
@@arthurmorgan6359 or is that Billie Piper?
"You know your house?"
"What?"
"You know your house, right?"
"Yeah...?"
"Is it bigger on the inside?"
maybe that was donna when she was in secondary school
The Catherine Tate sketch was hysterical
I always thought Rowan Atkinson would make a great Doctor.
Kian Pfannenstiel Jonathan Pryce is a superb Master too.
Didn't they actually ask him for the revival? Too bad it didn't work out
If that happens and a few retcons I'll start watching again
I wouldn't be able to take dr bean seriously.
In the classic era yeah but he just wouldn't fit in the new era
The first parody looked like it had a higher budget than doctor who actually had at that time.
Probably did. Science fiction never had as big a budget as comedy at the BBC....
fun doctor who fact: due the show only ever being intended for 12 episodes its budget was never increased to keep up with inflation and if they wanted a higher budget for a story they had to take away money from another episode. haven't you ever wondered why there is a whole episode on fanatical planets with only two sets
8 and a half... or something hahaha
"8 and a half.. or something" that's actually the best thing I've ever heard hahahahahah
You forgot to mention that The Curse of Fatal Death was also written by Steven Moffat, who would go on to be the showrunner for the Smith and Capaldi eras.
The Dead Ringers one was brill. When he asks the train receptionist
“When does the train arrive?”
“The train arrives at 12:45”
“Hmmm 1245 - a very good year...”
I think The Doctor using up 3 bodies in under a minute in the Comic Relief was why Russel Davies said that Timelords have a small immunity window lasting 15 hours after regenerating.
It's funny how the ComicRelief parody shows us that Doctor 13 would be a blonde woman... spoilers?
also written as one of the last bits of moffat writings before that, spooky
gohanmoreno7 iî
Not just the female thirteenth doctor, but the Doc marrying a companion, the joke about chairs on Skaro, farting being a plot point... it's amazing how accurately this skit predicted mainstream 21st century DW. Almost a shame that by the time Moffat got his hands on Who for real, he'd already used up all his best ideas here...
Etheric beam locators!
And that the doctor would have a romance with the master....or should i say mistress (spoilers)
"Tell me, why do they call you the master?"
"I'll explain later"
😂😂
That first Lenny Henry line just sounds like a real Doctor Who line ngl 😂
I loved The Five(ish) Doctors. Watching them run around trying to get into the filming and the appearance of Radagast, I mean Sylvester McCoy was great. Even Ian McKellen got in on the act.
The Comedy Relief bit did deserve the top spot. Few remember Joanna Lumley's appearance as the first female Doctor, something the hater's should keep in mind before unleashing their narrow minded complaints.
Okay honestly, one of the best I’ve seen was done by Hillywood to the Time Warp! Highly recommend checking it out
There’s one on RUclips by Hillywood. They have the 10th doctor, and cast, singing The Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is HYSTERICAL
Greg Rappa you have GOT to post the link to it
Cooper Minion ruclips.net/video/9WBqHdI5Bdw/видео.html
And so well made
How can you miss the ever so best Catherine Tate as Lauren sketch with David Tennant, or the Ballad of Russel and Julie by Tennant, Tate and John Borrowman? And idk if it qualifies but I love Hillywood's Doctor Who Parody as well!
"[Lenny] Henry plays the Doctor in Tom Baker-esque attire."
While he is shown with a scarf at one point, he is clearly dressed as Rupert Bear.
Mark Gatiss hasn't just appeared on Doctor Who, he's one of the show's best writers.
Jonathan Fesmire, Steampunk Author he was in a series 3 episode and an episode last series.
He wrote a bunch of the novels, too
@@LukasOfTheLight not disagreed but he's far from the worst :)
@@ShamrockParticle
Agreed. He and Steven Moffat are the co-writers for BBC's SHERLOCK as well.
need the Hillywood Show's music video!!
OMG YES WHY the heck it's not up here!
ruclips.net/video/_9g0blDOSlw/видео.html
That's what I was thinking when they said parodies. They should do a RUclips version of this video
They have their own Channel! Here is a link! ruclips.net/channel/UCuYRxRuTAtmeE2AiR5WWWHQ
Just about to comment this
I must say,i was surprised that the Hillywood Show Doctor Who parody wasn't included.Even Tennent was impressed.
What about Inspector Spacetime from community???
Cool Kid The actor who played The Inspector is in #9: The Doctor Games as the 12th Doctor.
I miss Doctor Who. I wish it still existed.
I think Joanna Lumley was kinda foreshadowing Jodie Whittaker as a female time lord
Bill Barclay. Obviously they do also. They picked an actress that looked like her in the late 80s, and they have dressed the characters very much the same. Doctor Who is a parody of itself. Humour at its purist.
I wish it had been Joanna lumley instead of Northern lass Whittaker
She would have been much better than what we ended up with!!
Bill Barclay no shit !
#1 is, and always has been, my favorite parody for Doctor Who. Just brilliant!
Ahhhaha “Capaldi “ cursing repeatedly
I had a feeling that the Comic Relief was going to be number one, just wish it also showed the think it was the Catherine Tate show at least for an honorable mention
Fancy Billie Piper? Lol.
That was super funny
And Joanna was the 13th doctor in the parody, just like Jodie Whittaker in New Who. Isn't that wizard of Steven Moffat to get that right???
Lisa Kazmier no.
Why not? Moffat wrote the sketch long before New Who started AND he didn't pick Jodie Whittaker. It was entirely Chris Chibnall's call.
I agree with your number one!😀👍
I would also like to comment, if they made the 13th Doctor like Lumley I guess the first female Doctor would be a hit!
Of course the writing must also be good!
What about the 'Robot Chicken' skit where The Nerd gets bored too quickly when he travels with the doctor?
I love the curse of fatal death
Where is the Hillywood parody?!
Alannah Erin Rougvie that's what I thought
I think Benedict Cumberbatch would make a great 14th doctor
Aw, c'mon! No Hillywood Show? That was brilliant!
Amy Bennett True!
Awwww! I was hoping to see that on the list. That's really the only reason why I clicked the video. :(
I know!
It's true, The Hillywood show was really awesome. These folks totally dropped the ball leaving it off the list.
I was hoping for that too. :(
The top 2 picks are my fav as well but the comic relief one is arguably cannon as it’s written by Stephen Moffatt
Nicholas Courtney at end of "The Corridor Sketch"....
Those of us who made The Doctor Games are increasingly thrilled to be a part of your top 10 list amidst such great parody talent!
It is sad that Lennie Henry finally got to be on Dr Who for real this real but he played it completely serious.
Its when I saw Lennie, that I realised it was a send-up!
Omg :D The guy at 3:20 Jokingly said that the believes doctor who will be there for 26 years…before the reboot doctor who was on air from 63 till 89 …. 26 goddamn years exacly
@Jerre Bruins If you look at the start of that segment ( 2:31 ) you'll see that it was actually aired in 1991, well after the original run had ended, so they knew exactly how long it lasted.
MasterMinderLp 👏👏👏
That ending tho "Ill explain later" yeah we all know where this is going
NorthernLeigonare For those not aware (since WatchMojoUK missed it where he included other first Who projects for Briggs, Walliams and Gatiss), "Curse of Fatal Death" was Steven Moffat's first writing credit for DW (and Richard E. Grant playing the Doctor, years before playing a DW villain). And boy was Moffat prophetic about Doctor #13 being female! :)
Is called the master for being good at debating? (Austin Powers joke)
No mention of Hillywood??? That's the best! Including music, dancing, and lots of characters!
Hillywood! Where's that!
Hillywood’s music parody would be my second with the one in first being my top pick too
Most of the comments are saying the Hillywood parody should've been on here and I have to agree
Where is the Hillywood Show on this list?!? In can't believe it's missing 😱😱😱😱
4:30
Once you've seen Mark Gatiss(pronounced "Gate-tiss". You're welcome, Watch Mojo.) as Mycroft Holmes, you can't unsee it. I saw him as Mycroft in BBC's SHERLOCK before I got the suggestion for this vid. I can't unsee it.
Yeah.. Doctor who IS THE best !!!
ESC Lisa Germany *was
The extras doctor who parody is underated it honestly feels exactly like a bad Russel episode
I loved how so much of the last one actually happened in the real series. Spoilers
The doctor turned female. The master and the doctor became friends. One of the daleks became good. I believe there were a couple others.
"HOW DID YOU EVEN GET IN HERE!?"
"BECAUSE I'M BATMAN!!!!!!"
I love Clive Dunn, and now have an urge to go and watch Dad's Army reruns...
Waste of time it didn't even include dalek who, arguably the best doctor who parody in existence
Trivia: #9 The Doctor Games uses the 8th Doctor's actual console.
And the guy who plays 12 played Inspector Spacetime (the Doctor Who equivalent) on Community!
Thatchos takes on a new meaning for nickname “the Iron Lady”
They should have also added the Catherine Tate as Lauren Cooper skit with David Tennant
You forgot season 11 of Doctor Who. That's been a decent parody.
Where is the Hillywood Show's parody? That's one of the Best if not the BEST ONE OUT THERE
Fun fact: in _The Curse of Fatal Death,_ the Master says Atkinson is the Doctor’s 9th body. The Doctor then regenerates a total of four times, winding up as a woman.
Coincidence?
I think not…
That last one was my first exposure to Doctor Who. It'll always hold a special place in my heart.
wonderful clips. thanks! subscribed!
Ok, but Hillywood should have been on here. At least as an honorable mention.
I would literally do anything to get Paul mcgann as doctor once again
Where’s the Victoria Wood sketch? It gave us the Ming-Mongs!
3:20 “Sir Horace” is Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart from the Pertwee doctor years.
Actually, He started during the Troughton period (Before THAT, he appeared in a Dalek story during the Hartnell period as a different character).
Inspector SpaceTime from "Community." No, he wasn't on the countdown; I would recognize Abed. "Come, Constable, there's not enough . . . space."
The Hillywood Show parody should have made the list.
James Jeans it's a music video, not a parody
CoalDiamond - it's both!
CoalDiamond- The video is called a parody right in the title. It's a musical parody of Doctor Who and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Where's the Hillywood Show Doctor Who parody?! That should be on there.
I agree with the comic relief as #1 but not curse of the fatal death. My favorite doctor who spoof on anything has to be the one with david tennant and catherine tate in the english classroom. Watch and you'll agree ;)
Shayne473 I've seen it several times and I disagree.
HAHA YES!!! You Mentioned HISHE! But Some People May Get Confused Between The "Doomsday" HISHE Episode And The "Who's A Hero" HISHE Episode
What about “The Kidnapped” sketch from Doctor Who Night 1999. I thought it’s was the funniest one from Doctor Who Night.
this was great. the only one I had seen was number 1 but now i'm going to search tube for them all
i love the red nose versions
Hillywood and How It Should Have Ended should have received at least an honorable mention.
They have a good doctor who reverence in the show community called doctor space time
Wow Lenny Henry does a sketch of doctor who now he appears in at least 2 new episodes
Does anyone know when that Saunders & French bit was done? I think that i recognized the actor who played the Doctor, But I can not remember his name.(I think that he played a rather "wet" character in an episode of "Are You being Served?"). I wonder why they did not mention that Spike Milligan bit with the Dalek?
I have rewatched Curse of fatal death lots of times, so funny. I was lucky to grow up with all the doctors from Hartnel to the latest. I can still recall them all. Seems like yesterday strangely enough.
The best thing about the five-ish Doctors reboot, (aside from DT and Georgia's cameo) is easily the fact that Paul was actually in the middle of filming The Night Of The Doctor at the time, but couldn't tell them. So I guess Moffat somehow managed to toll even that.
Doctor Eyes and the Victoria wood spoof also with Jim Broadbent are also fantastic. As well as the hay Daleks on TV Offal.
I didn't know there was a Watch Mojo UK! This pleases me!
Spike Milligan's sketch, featuring a dalek coming home, is a comedy work of genius. It's not here?
What about top 10 British T.V shows that were revived or returned. Returned as in were cancelled but came back in the same timeline like Doctor Who. Revived as in stuff like Danger Mouse.
The Angry Badger 2506 Cool idea. We will look into it :)
Would that include shows that continued from where they left off like red dwarf?
CRACKEN GEEK PRODUCTIONS
Yeah it would
Clever stuff! Love it.
I would love to see a passing mention of the comic relief spoof in an episode. Imagine a master/doctor episode in the 90s and their reaction to that being on the telly
"Bla bla bla daleks" is my favourite one.
I didn't know about the Rowan Atkinson spoof until about a year ago.
Where is the Hillywood?
Where the hell is the Hillywood Show's parody?! I was expecting that to be in at least the top three if not number 1!
Before I even watch this, Hillywood better be here.
sadly, it's not - count on WatchMojo to leave out something that big.
After 2020, all of this can genuinely be considered canon.
I knew Curse of Fatal Death would be on.
Where is the Hillywood Parody?!?! You def need to re make this list for sure and it should be number 1
Was that a Malcolm Tucker reference in #9 when Doctor 12 is about to die
Where's Hillywood?! Defiantly number 1 for DW Parody!
I played the 1st Doctor in The Doctor Games, and it's very cool to be on the same list as classics like Fiveish Doctor's Reboot and The Curse of Fatal Death. We never expected the amount of views our little youtube video would get when we made it.
I really miss Doctor Who Parody by The Hillywood Show on this list.
I’m late I know😉
Leela and her Norkers. The train skit is my favorite.
Richard E. Grant? Now I have to see this!
No mention of the Epic Rap Battles of History clip, Doctor Who vs Dr. Brown?
Just remembered the Jamaican Cybermen on "The real McCoy"!
I would have liked to see these people as possible future doctors...
1. The actor who played Newt Scamander
2. Alan rickman
3. Gary oldman
4. Guy who played John wick
