Why Britt's version slaps more (imo): •i actually prefer the "WOOOAAAAAHHHH" part after every chorus but Jojo only uses it twice in her version. •the VOCALSSSS. So much better and less autotuney. •the MV. The production??? The 2012 sounds? The concept? The 2012 looks? The storyline? It's all a MASTERPIECE. Jojo's MV lacked a storyline or depth to it because the whole MV was just awkward-looking intimacy and dancing on a ship and island in odd outfits.... Didn't really make sense. •'messed around' sounds better than "effed around". •The instrumental SLAPS. It's so impactful every time it builds up!
In Britt's MV, the paint splash and the Timbaland noise in the first few seconds is better than Jojo's whole video. Yes I have watched Britt Smith's video 500x 😂
100% agree with these, especially the buildup! the instrumentals on jojo's aren't bad necessarily, but it totally lacks the flow of the original. it's like a super stripped down version- way less dynamic!

The overall production is mediocre in my opinion, but its listenable and not really bad (except for the chorus part, i bleed from my ass when i hear the production in that part) the problem is the autotuned horrible vocals from Jojo and the cringy, horrible, painful music video from hers (sorry for my bad english btw)

The production on 2012 is actually amazing as it sounded like those early 2010s upbeat dance driven pop rock remix. But the 2024 version is more pop oriented which is today's equivalent of minimum value.

This does make me realize (me personally) I don’t like Jojo’s chorus instrumental but it makes her yacht costume make sense. That track just reminds me of a jingle I’d hear on Sports Center.
I feel like the vocals could stand to be boosted more in some parts, like the start of the first chorus. But excellent work otherwise. This is legit everything I wanted out of this whole mess, because I did really like both Jojo's music and Brit's vocals
