I will never forget this legend of Detroit, I had just moved to Little Rock Arkansas. A week after being there I learned Bishop Ellis was in Little Rock in UAMS Hospital. Formerly University Hospital of Little Rock Arkansas. Then a day or so that had passed there. It really took me by surprise and and with a heavey heart. These are the songs he was singing during that era of time. He will never be forgotten.
Thank you for putting up those radio stations. I lived in Detroit and I was Baptized at Bishop's church back in 1993 that was the best day of my life. I remember going there and experiencing Bishop David L. Ellis singing and Preaching , the DJ at the time on WMUZ was Darrell something I can't remember his name but if you can help and tell me his name I would love to see if youtube has some of his old recordings of the 1990's like they do of Martha Jean The Queen.
+Priscilla harrs Yes, back in 1996, Darryl Ford (a former member of Greater Grace Temple, Detroit) was the D.J. then on WMUZ 103.5 FM radio. I still have him recorded on cassette tape from that time.
I'm 25 now & this bring so many memories. Growing up in Detroit, going to church with my grandparents & parents I enjoy hearing this type of music as child. Greater Grace use to come on TV all the time & I use to sit on the couch clapping my hands. This new gospel just don't have soul feel in them like the old songs do. Hearing music like this bring tears to my eyes.
