    Both Steichen and Ballard need to go. They need a GM that’s willing to both build through the draft and sign complimentary QUALITY players to round out roster. The next HC needs to be an actual LEADER that will have accountability in the locker room. I’m hoping for Aaron Glenn or Mike Vrabel. Find a good OC to see if they can build a diverse run game and play action passing game to compliment what AR does well

      Benching our best and most dynamic player who gives us the best chance to win is not a good move. You have to remember what JT did to get to that point. Trey Sermon couldn’t have done that. Most RBs in the league couldn’t have done that.

      AR wouldn't need to be so good at shaking off tacklers if he could get the ball out quicker, but then you've still got his accuracy problem. I think the solution is to get rid of him and start over. Attributing occasional game wins to his actions is not good enough. I think they should take a hard look at Taylor, too. He's gone from great to average, he's backing up.

    Normally, I like to gove coaches 3 years to prove themselves. I get it that you can have a bad year.
    But, Steichen's team hasn't been consistent, prepared, and has lacked character (a la Taylor) which I think justifies moving on. Remember his inaguaral presser? Here is the philosophy Steichen was supposed to bring:
    "Character
    Preparation
    Consistency
    Relentless
    All over the building... It just can't live in a wall, but you gotta bring it to life, now. You've got to show examples of what that looks like every single day. Show the players examples... you gotta live it."

    Gus Bradley should be promoted to HC and give Jim Bob Cooter the OC/play calling duties for AR continuity. Build the roster for AR and the Defense, in order to determine after 2025 if we should place the 5th year option on him. Playoffs, in 25 keeps everything in place for 26. Less than that, it's time then for the rebuild. New GM, HC, QB etc.

  • @GUKilljoy
    @GUKilljoy 11 часов назад

    In my mind, AR has probably 1 more year to prove he has got enough to be a true long term starting QB and the Colts are back in the tank for a prospect, so I think matching Steichen's timeline to his is probably what would be best anyways.
    If after next year there's no improvement at the coaching level, probably best to cut chase with both (and potentially Ballard) and give the next regime a clean slate to work with.

    • @westrueblood8178
      @westrueblood8178 11 часов назад +1

      New regime should have a clean slate, and no good coach would want to come here and have to coach AR, who barring a miracle won’t be a long term starting qb. I’d move on from AR now anyways. But, I like your line of thinking.

  • @jamescrawford5330
    @jamescrawford5330 10 часов назад

    During the draft, Steichen was at the mercy of Ballard’s lackeys…needed a QB then drafted based on RAS rather than passing performance (an NFL must!!). Steichen was new last year and probably wanted to “go along” to fit in and trust what Ballard’s gurus said. Give coach someone that can not only pass more accurately but also have better instincts would make this team much more successful.

    Okay AR hasn't been great. However, everyone going in knew he didn't have enough game experience and they were taking a chance on greatness. They needed a QB so what other QB would have been a better choice outside of trading up? You knew they weren't going to trade up to get Stroud. If you fire Shane then you need to trade AR. There's not a good record for young QBs that through coaching switches in their your career.

    AR has as many pro starts as college starts, 13. We knew that when we drafted him. Year one was lost with injury. This year, benching AR was a setback. Not sure bringing a new OC would benefit his progress. Sam Womack & Jaylon Jones were pleasant surprises. Gus Bradley has turned sh!t into salad. The OL with backups & Rookies that can't pass blocking, but HOLD, has been unlucky. Bortollini and Goncalves, pleasant surprises. Pittman back injury was devastating. Mitchell dropping passes, unsatisfactory

    Steichen may be serviceable with the right roster, however Ballard is not. No top tier GM candidate is going to take the job where he can't pick his HC. We need to get out of the cycle of firing only the GM or the HC, so they both need to go. Also, i would not get hopes up because i highly doubt we see Irsay make any decisions with meaningful change. I would guess you get 1 more year of Ballard and Steichen so Ballard will play out his contract and Irsay won't have to pay out again on a firing pre contract expiration. Unless we go winless to end the season which is not likely.
