With your camera following issues theres a mod in the beamng mod menu called something like chase camera (there was only 2 when i looked) it can be enabled aswell in the settings under camera

I think Beam needs to make an update with the cam. It's annoying how it sticks back when driving forward, it's the one and only thing that annoys me
yea or leave that as a separate cam mode and add traditional chase cam
Enhanced Chase Camera mod fixes this issue
just use chase cam instead, or change your settings for the orbit cam. just go to options-camera... theres a lot in there that you have control of
