I'm not a millionaire because when I was young and arrogant, I thought I knew it all. As a result, made bad decisions. I go over them in detail in these two videos. Had I managed these opportunities better, I could've been a millionaire: ruclips.net/video/9VYmQQ9BKpE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/w3c2dOw6Frg/видео.html It's easy to lie to myself & say that I do what I do *only* because I am a virtuous person, rather than out of self interest. Some of the worst atrocities are committed by people who believe they are good people. Everyone has an ego, which makes it easy to fall into these traps. Had to lookup vimeo, are they charging for bandwidth on top of storage or is it unlimited? Okay, so they don't unless you're using more than 99% of bandwidth compared to other users. So basically they're overcharging for storage to cover their bottom line while providing load balancing, walled garden, storage, etc. Tbh you could probably host your own for a tenth of the price

I worked briefly for a large contract over-night repair facility for business computers (mostly Acer, but also other brands.) This brings back nightmares. *_NO ONE_* wanted to work on the "foreign substance" machines. That meant one thing and one thing only: business men alone in a hotel with their laptop when it "suddenly stopped working." Did I mention I only worked there briefly? I don't know how you do it, Louis.
Louis, I would look into Wasabi S3 Storage through PAX 8. Our company gets 5Tb a month for around $7 dollars. This is only if you need a data repository. They don't change egress fees either.
Hmm, doesn't get much cheaper. It's $ 0.023 / GB / month. So that would be $ 276 / TB / year. And you'll have to add your additional costs like bandwidth and cpu/ram usage.
$400 a year for one TB can be dirt cheap or very expensive, depending on how the data is stored. Most people think $300 buys you a 10TB hdd, buy three and you have enough to store the 21TB of videos. Just connect these disks via USB to a raspberry-pi and a cheap internet-connections and you have Eugene's video hosting service. But it isn't so easy, you want some redundancy and therefore you need more disks. So buy six of them. But they need to be installed in a Server and that server needs a place in a data center. But now you also need a backup and it should also have some redundancy. Twelve disks and two servers and the space in a data center. Now you need only some content delivery network that offloads the distribution of the videos from your server. This would be the absolute minimal setup. In reality the setups can be much more complicated. Data should be available on different servers, so it is often stored in a software defined storage cluster. Such a cluster consists of many servers full of disks, a separate high speed ethernet and every block of data is stored with triple redundancy distributed over different nodes. If a node fails, there needs to be enough free storage in the cluster to recreate the triple-redundancy. Then you need redundant backup-storage that stores at least another two copies of the data. At this point the 20TB data are actually 100TB of storage space. Often the storage clusters have off-site mirrors in which case there will be another three copies. And copies don't happen out of nothing, they need bandwidth and cpu-cycles to create and maintain them. And you need people who keep the machinery running. Suddenly $400 a year for a TB doesn't sound as expensive.
Dave Jones from EEVblog often recommends lbry and I started to watch his videos there. I didn't look into the technical details of this service but it seems to work for him (and many others) and it works for me as viewer.
