I think the attack on the uchiha eye storage would be way different, in that konoha would send more than itachi + team 7 considering the value of both goals, eliminating the true leader of akatsuki who may or may not be obito, and the retrevial of uchiha eyes to instead be locked in a konoha vault. most of anbu would be sent as well

The Chakra disease is so weird because I always assumed much more valid illnesses that killed them I always imagined Kimimaro's ability was slowly killing him. He could heal any injuries, which helps with constant damage from bone abilities, but it wasn't regeneration. He was just _healing_ injuries, leaving him with a bunch of scar tissue, both internally and externally. And I always assumed Itachi was suffering from the physical manifestations of his grief and guilt for killing his clan.
Kimimaru's disease could be something much more mundane too: chronic anemia. Your body needs bone marrow to make blood, and Kimimaru constantly used his in combat. His extensive training and Orochimaru's modifications supercharged that ability, and now every time he fights he needs months to recover. This way Orochimaru would have wanted him around as a glass cannon, but his body would be way too frail to be a proper host. As for Itachi, i would give him the old reliable "unnamed heard condition" or say that his extensive usage of sharingan as a child and MS as a teen fucked up his brain chemistry, giving him random seizures and insomnia punctuated by faintings.
Itachi's "Chalkra Disease" was fake he was being poisoned by sasori. If that wasn't the case the and itachi returned to the leaf after completing his mission and became hokage, the leaf village would of probably overthrown their fuedal lord and been the most prosperous village in the land because itachi way smarter than Naruto and Naruto would be of doing more sage training to grow stronger to become hokage, and Kiba wouldnt become hokage because Naruto would have become hokage later in life and Kiba would of passed before he had the chance
No Bro, itachi is dying in the War Arc, or the Pain fight. They still have to kill him before the war arc, he would get revived by Kabuto and he would still go undo reanimation.

I think Itachi's disease was Tuberculosis: He was coughing up blood and by the end, he was in very bad shape. It was shown several times that he had chest pains, and his data sheet shows that his weight is abnormally low (he probably lost weight after he got sick, one of the symptoms of TB is loss of appetite and weight loss). Kisame worried several times that he would catch a cold, also one of the symptoms of TB is that the patient often gets cold and falls to bed easily, this would explain the worry quite well. In addition, TB is an infectious disease that was very common for a long time, and in the world of Naruto it is also hinted that Itachi is not the only one affected (e.g. Sai's adopted brother was also weak and coughed up blood before his death, so there is a good chance that he suffered from the same disease, although he did not we got so many hints that this is the problem)
It's a tamer version of TB if it's tb. Actual TB isn't just infectious, it's highly infectious. A lot more people would have been suffering from it in that world I think. There'd be entire pandemics as in this world TB kills someone every 20 seconds. In 2022 1.3 million people passed from TB and it's a lot more controlled now days than what it was in the past. At any rate though you are right that the chakra illness is some kind of pulmonary disease that's attacking Itachi's lungs.

Love the idea, the one part I wanted to hear talked about is what would happen after the fight between Naruto and Sasuke. Would Naruto still end up travelling with Jiraya if trying to retrieve Sasuke was no longer his goal?

Thing is, Itachi’s felt treatable or even curable if…he didn’t have an (understandable) survivor’s guilt and he basically wanted to die and was only really sticking around to keep his eyes intact for Sasuke, and y’know, if missing nin could have access to healthcare -oooor if he wasn’t ever manipulated into slaughtering his family and culture by Dear Old Danz. And never became a missing nin in the first place.- Kimimaro’s on the other hand was outright bone cancer that his clan was prone to ‘cause of the whole “grow extra bones and pull them out for funzies” thing going on. Which, he did have access to a skilled med nin who would’ve been pretty invested in…well not exactly saving him, but at least preserving his body. Maybe he would’ve stood a chance with Tsunade, Shizune, or Sakura in charge of his care vs Kabuto (who didn’t care about ethics and easily could’ve made things worse because, y’know, human experimentation and What Are Ethics.) But, his was pretty much inevitable and killed relatives if they didn’t die in battle instead

Maybe Tsunade somehow gets the information about Itachi and is in a position to help him. She cures the disease. Itachi asks to keep the secret from everyone else. The healer and the killer trade philosophies on doing what for the village. They are the light and shadow of Konoha. I would like a storyline unfolding in that Tsunade seems to have much information on the Akatsuki. This makes tension grow with the village hidden in the Mist. This way the story is more dynamic than just a fight vs the Edo Tensei.
Wait wait wait, there a discrepancy here. If orochimaru never targeted sasuke then neither him nor naruto would be unconscious from their fight. Meaning it would be team 7 as a whole that would fight against the sound ninja plus who ever rolled up so they could’ve just defended themselves

Actualy the sound ninja would never target team 7 because orochimaru sent them to sauske to see how the curse mark was bonding to sauske but if orochimaru didnt target sauske than nither would the sound ninja
Itachi and Mei would’ve been an interesting couple, since she expressed her interest in Sauske, so why not his older brother who would also be a fellow Kage that could give not just her, but also her village the future they’ve wanted. Plus the bonus would be the insanely strong kids they’d open the potential for in Boruto.

Aside from Anko the only other character I can kinda see is Karin. Both members of a mostly wiped out clan. But how you cross their paths and such would be hard. With out Sasuke going to Orochimaru getting the rest of taka out there is a bit difficult. And not sure who would refill Tsunades chakra during the war arc but I guess you could have them meet and start a connection while Orochimaru was in a team with him. IT would also arugably change the most common clan in the head of Konoha if they married before he became hokage. Given that The first, fourth, fith, in this case sixth, and seventh hokage are either dirrectly married to or actually part Uzumaki with Tsunade being at least 25%. Which would not just finally put a uchiha in power, but remove the Senju as the biggest clan of influence to some extent.
The Hyuga are the largest clan of influence. The Senju pretty much disappeared. The average hyuga over all are above the average Uchiha. It isn't until they evolve the sharigan that they become different beast all together while just having the bakugan makes you around jonin level.

Mito Uzumaki, Wife of the first hokage sister in law to the second, who first sealed Kurama and become his Jinchūriki. Skip the Third. Fourth Kushina Uzumaki, wife of the fourth second Jinchūriki. Fifth Hokage, grandaugter of Mito, legendary sanin, No direct family Ties with the sixth. Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki, Third Jinchūriki for Kurama...the list goes on. My idea was more if Itachi was to be the sixth hokage instead. Having him marry Karin Uzumaki would also kinda make sense with this trend. Also it would give the clans of the two main characters more than a single vector to restore their clan. Literally having blood lines linked to both Indra and and Asura together into a single family for the first time since the sage of six paths.
what if… hear me out… konan? because she may still be alive in this timeline since obito couldn’t have used izanagi in the fight against her because he would lose his sharingan and he wouldn’t have the stash of extra sharingans (bc itachi and sasuke raided his hideout in this timeline). so obito prob would have just fled the fight against her. so konan would still be alive.

I understand its a writing technique to get rid of OP characters. But these Chakra diseases seem to infect really powerful shinobi with unique jutsus. Great content man. In this timeline, obito wouldn’t have had his stash of sharingan anymore so he prob wouldn’t have used izanagi on konan and he would have instead just fled the fight to not lose his sharingan…. this means konan would be alive… and i can see itachi and konan together 🤷♂️

Sarada would have to unlock MS first, and I don't think that's the direction they want to go with this generation of characters in terms of themes. More kinslaying and hatred is kinda a step backwards with regards to the cycle of hatred and all.
35:18 Itachi and Anko makes a lot of sense. More or less in the sense they balance eachother out. Both have beef with Orochimaru. But they are opposites in Anko is more on the cheeky side and Itachi on the calm stoic side. But at the core both are professionals.

Maybe all those tests on shinobi in deplorable ways to them and their chakra, Orichimaru accidentally helped cultivate further this impossibly rare disease. He was immune, like nearly everyone. But using his chakra near those two who (plot armor) were susceptible, ended up with it. Love your vids, make me wonder.
Itachi and Kurenai is an excellent idea! They both control their strong emotions with intense practicality, and both lost the person they loved first. They would also make powerful genjustu babies XD I jest, but that would probably be Itachi's main motivation for giving love a second chance. His "childhood" was defined by conflicting loyalties to the Uchiha and the Leaf, culminating in him almost ending the Uchiha bloodline with his own hands. Now that the war is over and he didn't have to die, I think he would consider it his duty to have children. I was thinking he would probably want to find somebody in a similar position, (like Karin), who he could like and respect and see himself co-parenting with, (not like Karin XD).
He wouldnt had killed them, without the disease. Because, without it, he had become Orochimaru's body. So, he wouldnt had fighted them (and maybe, Orochimaru had beated Sarutobi without the lose of his arms, like, they stated). But yes. Gaara would be dead (or heavy injured), hadnt the disease killed Kimimaru first

Other potentials for Itachi: Kurenai: She is a little bit older than Anko but is a lot hotter and already a good mom. She also had the balls to stand up to Itachi and try and use genjustu on him. Yugao Uzuki: She was an Anbu captain so she probably would easily understand what Itachi did and is a powerful shinobi in her own right. Can't remember if she survived is the only issue. If she did she would be about Anko's age. Shizune: She was a powerful medical ninja and still within age range I'm shooting for. My pick though is Ayame from Ichiraku Ramen. She is the youngest on the list and closest to his age, she is good looking and nice, and she is more useful than part 1 Sakura.
I was thinking Guren since her and Itachi are the same age in Shippuden, even though she was just a filler character. Imagine an Uchiha with Crystal Style Abilities!

My head cannon about chakra disease is that it's a birth defect in the chakra system. Being born with it is just a matter of bad luck, but it's not fatal for most people. It would be the equivalent to one of us having a defective organ and over exerting it causes cumulative damage to it and the rest of our body. In non-ninjas, they would never even realize they have it. In regular ninja, the worst it would get is pain and decreased fighting ability. But because these two were so strong, it killed them.
That would've been terrifying if Orochimaru got Kimimaro as a vessel. Two things I've wondered in my own what ifs is. What if Shino was in the Sasuke retrieval arc? He's super underrated especially in part 1 of Naruto and he never lost a single fight And what if Kimimaro or Haku survived and joined the Akatsuki. I feel like they had massive potential if they survived and honned their skills
Shino was out for a mission in the Sasuke retrieval (lol, this didn't went well) arc for the same reason Gai was out for a mission when Pain attacked Konoha.

I think among all the what-if's I watched this is my favorite. I want to see the better connection from kakashi and Sasuke, the conversation between kakashi and obito, also the interaction of sasuke and naruto as brothers. I personally think that this storyline make much more sense tbh.
I think chakra disease may be caused by constantly using up too much chakra or straining yourself. Essentially everytime you run low on chakra and push yourself too much you put yourself essentially at deaths door the more you do that the higher the risk of actual death similiar to a heart attack. To put it simply i see chakra disease develops over time when you push yourself too hard too often. If i had to guess chakra generation and recovery slows down with age meaning that the older you become the weaker your chakra reserves get capacity aswell as how long it takes to get that chakra back after a fight.
I'm not sure if I agree with all your takes here but the video is presented in such a fire way, I have to respect it. Your understanding of the world and characters really shines and I'm gonna be honest, I laughed my ass off when you said they could just swap eyes. Definitely glad I found your channel.
I have a very interesting what if idea: What if Tsunade joined the Akatsuki? It might seem random at first, but what if Orochimaru stayed in the Akatsuki and thus instead of going after Hidan to join the Akatsuki, he tells pain about one of the Sannin who could very easily join the Akatsuki because she could both fight with incredible power and be somewhat immortal. At this point in the timeline, Tsunade is in her worst and has been shown in OG Naruto to listen to Orochimaru and he could tell her that the Akatsuki could bring Dan and Nawaki back. P.S. I think Tsunade would be a perfect partner for Kakuzu or Orochimaru, but I favor Kakuzu because he didn’t have a partner at this point in time, he wouldn’t be able to kill her, and also I would like to know Kakuzu’s reaction to Tsuande being the granddaughter of Hashirama.
@@Stolas9 Or she meets Kakuzu to pay for his debts. They go together to Akatsuki, and in one of Kakuzu's frenzies, he tries to kill Tsunade only to find out she is pretty much unable to die and get along better afterward.
Ill be honest i did not expect you to like perfectly pull off this what if theory but you legit thought of pretty much everything and how to bring closure to alot of ongoing animosity in the naruto universe I especially liked Itachi becoming Hokage because i always thought he was stupid strong but just never really given a good run to prove his full extent just a battle he purposely lost while being extremely sick. I think it would be perfect if itachi became the first Uchiha hokage because as you said it wouldve brought closure to the uchiha(even if they were all dead) I think it wouldve been a super symbolic moment for the Naruto universe and just as a spectator of the show!!
I am curious on how Itachi being present would affect the story after Shippuden (some of the novels and Boruto), especially on how it would affect Sarada's growth. Would Itachi accompany Sasuke on his research into the Otsatsuki, or would he stay behind in the village, potentially giving Sarada an opportunity for some earlier Sharingan training?

@NCHammer23 Buddy I personally think Koto Amatsukame in both eyes of Shisui works differently, his left eye which was with Itachi casts stronger and unbreakable genjutsu in which eye contact is necessary as we saw Itachi had to bring out the crow from Naruto also it takes 10 years to recharge, on the other hand his right eye which cast genjutsu which is arguably breakable and doesn't need eye contact and can be recharge in 3 days by a non-Uchiha with Hashi's cells, my theory is Shisui's right eye doesn't actually takes 10 years like his left eye, I guess if no-Uchiha with Hashi's cells can charge it in 3 days then why would Shisui, a Pure Blood Uchiha with perfect health take a decade??? It is possible his right eye originally didn't take a decade but maybe few weeks or months... Another difference is when his right eye cast genjutsu, victims like Mifune were unaware that they are under Koto Amatsukame, but in his left eye genjutsu case, Itachi was aware that he is under Koto Amatsukame....
If Sasuke never got the Curse Mark are you assuming that Orochimaru never attacked them? If so then both Naruto and Sasuke wouldn't be out and it would just be Team 7 vs the Sound shinobi with maybe Lee jumping in if Sakura was having trouble. If they did fight Orochimaru but Sasuke didn't get the Curse Mark then Sasuke would still be up for that whole fight. It doesn't matter in the long run but just curious. I also can't think of anyone better than Anko. If not her then probably some random villager or some woman that works in the Hokage's office so they interact enough for something to start. I also imagine that as the eldest Uchiha Itachi would feel a responsibility to have children so even if he isn't ready to love if a nice enough girl confesses to him he would probably accept.
I've lurked on a few of your vids, but you honestly get ALL MY RESPECT, for ignoring that evil Sasuke nonsense and having Might Guy kill Madara! This is probably my favorite Naruto hypothetical video!
At around 11:00 not only would naruto and sauske not be knocked out because they didn’t fight orochimaru but the sound also wouldn’t have gone to fight them because the only reason they went after them was because of sauske
No need for Sage Mode to get stronger than Madara. It's enough if he can get an EMS and train and not die. Madara is only stronger than Itachi, because he's 5x older than him with 5x more training and a superior eye. Itachi is much more intelligent and more talented than Madara, so if he lives and trains and wants to get stronger, he would have surpassed Madara eventually, 100%.
While I think there are a ton of problems in this video, the two biggest are: 1. Kabuto speculated that the Konoha invasion may have been a victory had Kimimaro been healthy, but nonetheless we canonically know that Orochimaru would NOT have been in Kimimaro's body yet because he developed his illness during the Kazekage assassination which took place right after Orochimaru took control of a body, and 2. I don't think there's any way they beat Kaguya without DMS Kakashi. Based on Kimimaro being able to dodge a rasenshuriken in the war arc, and the fact that Orochimaru is never defeated by Sasuke and instead can take over Kimimaro, putting him well above where he was in any point of Shippuden (especially if he's able to defeat Hiruzen without losing his arms following Kabuto's speculation of it being a success.) Orochimaru very likely could have been a Pain-tier character with those years being spent productively, with Kimimaro's body, instead of spending that time recovering. This is also all ignoring the fact that the war arc heavily relied on Kabuto's reanimation, which he only pursued after feeling meaningless after Orochimaru's death. Without that, we don't even get Madara, and there is no Kaguya either. Also, Zetsu would no doubt continue trying to influence Sasuke, the next incarnation of Indra. I understand why you made the video the way you did (railroading the story to follow the same path with minor tweaks in how they got there) but I think you can do better.
DMS kakashi was just a fan services and it wasn't even that much powerful. Either way he said kaguya fight will end up the same way that it originally ended. Means obito would still sacrifice himself and lend kakashi his eye's for a sec. And your other point was the same. Simply you didn't understand what he said....
@@xzil2167 You didn't understand. This is a what-if in a world where the chakra illness didn't exist. In that world, Orochimaru objectively would not have been in Kimimaro's body prior to invading Konoha. Any justification you try to make is simply incorrect because the illness was not a factor in him not taking his body prior to invading Konoha. Shortly before Konoha Crush, Kimimaro as part of the Sound Five was part of the mission in Orochimaru obtaining a body he switched to, and then they assassinated the Kazekage to set Konoha Crush into motion. Kimimaro fell ill during this assassination and was sent back to the Sound village. This wasn't something he suffered from the whole time - if he was, Orochimaru never would have cared about him anyway. I like his content generally and I understand that you want to defend him because you think he's really knowledgeable so the random commentor must be wrong, however he did make a mistake. The only speculative part was whether or not Orochimaru would have lost his arms or whether or not Konoha would survive. This plotline still raises all of the issues of Kabuto not playing his role in the war arc. Orochimaru had no reason to die without Sasuke absorbing him and Itachi removing him from that. Without his absence, we never get sage Kabuto playing the chess master and we never get Madara in the war arc.
@@catalyst429 I do agree that Obitos ms is one of the strongest ms in the show but in the last fight I don't think it did something that was game changing. The only thing it did was throw some kamui-shuriken and that wasn't even that fast. I don't think that was even necessary. The only thing it was needed for was to protect sakura.

Honestly I would've re written the chunin exam portion I believe without orchimaru's meddling team 7 would have been the third team to finish the forest of death at the latest right behind team kuranai and the sand siblings the fight with the sound ninja would never have happened cause they were on assignment to test sasuke after he got his curse mark but since no curse mark no sound ninja fight in the forest of death they get eliminated in the third round prelims like normal sasuke would witness all of them as opposed to being hospitalized until the finals after that everything goes the same as you said

Something else that would happen in this timeline during the pain ark is that Irukq would die and naruto would likely have a bigger reaction to that than he did with kakashi, but he still comes back to life at the end so it doesn’t really change anything
A few years ago I watched a theory video about Itachis disease. The video claimed the disease is called "microscopic polyangitis" (I don't know if that is the right english translation, the video was in German). The evidence from this video would be coughing up blood, major pain in the chest, a weakened body and some more. But also yeah Im not sure of any other established characters he could end up with, and I could see them connecting over being used by powerful ppl, and Anko being one of the few people who didnt take long to warm up to Itachi being brought back, have some slice of life stuff early on in the what if of Itachi being back in the village and her showing him around as a "ik what its like to come back and feel lost" kinda thing. Maybe have her do/say something that reminds itachi of his previous gf, or just in general be one of the people that helps connect him to the village again as a whole
Ems Itachi in this timeline you have creaated wouldve been substantialy stronger than you are making him out to be is the only real issue i have with this. Ems is more than just no more blindness, Ems took Sasuke from 5 kage summit sasuke who vaguely struggled against each and wouldve been killed by Ohnoki, to Ems Sasuke that rivals/matches KCM2 Naruto in the war. in this timeline youve establshed Naruto functionally doesnt have much change to his story and thus his power (and maybe contextually might have more having a rival to challenge him all those years in sasuke but that wasnt mentioned) and Kurama is an additives/multiplicative power up on narutos base power. and then we remember that Itachi sstill was in the akatsuki for years and harbored all that hatred from massacring the clan etc etc. Edo tensei itachi is still* weaker than hypothetical alive itachi with chakra diseas. Therefore, a hypothetical prime alive itachi with no disease, massive hatred amp, and now added massive ems amp would arguably stepping on the doorstep to as much power as edo hashirama or between that and alive hashirama in power. . and when you look at edo hashirama having enough power to more or less rival the incomplete ten tails, This hypothetical itachi would arguably be rivaling an incomplete ten tails we got in the war to a hypothetical full power ten tails. not that the distinction makes all that much of a difference in the grand scheme of your theory/story. im just saying you still kinda nerfed him when Itachi, the 4 Hokage, Naruto, and Sasuke wouldve done some massive work in the world you have presented if granted the power they actually should have. Also, Itachi would still be stronger than Sasuke given their progression paths.

It seems like chakra disease tends to affect the super/over powered characters. Maybe the overuse of Chakra or constant use of high levels of chakra/power over several years makes one more susceptible to the chakra disease? One’s not always destined to get chakra disease with high/overuse of chakra, but it becomes a higher risk and likely hood you will suffer from some type/degree of chakra disease, maybe ranging from mild side effects to terminal/highly debilitating effects.
My head canon on what Chakra Sickness is: It is something that happens whenever someone is constantly expending large amounts of Chakra for years on end without a real rest or breaking that Chakra usage. For Kimmimaru I think it's constantly controlling the growth of his bones, for this I'm assuming that a side effect of the Kekai Genkai is that his bones are constantly trying to grow and branch off of their own accord and he actively keeps a humanoid form. For Itachi, I think that after becoming a Rogue Nin he was constantly using Genjutsu to serve different ends. For civilians, he just made himself invisible to them, and when he knew a ninja threw off that Genjutsu like Orochimaru would have.. he immediately chooses based upon the Chakra signature wether to fall on his MS or use a specific almost space-time genjutsu to play the attack through(he does this to Naruto, i forget the episode) and therefore he immediately hard counters the attack. I think he kept those layers up basically constantly while in the Akatsuki as a defense. They'd honestly had probably heard of Itachi before the Uchiha assassination, and definitely would know exactly what he had done through Obito. They'd want him to show off and in time they'd see him use it to walk past low level Ninja like he was invisible, handily defeat any mid/high level threats as if he had precognition(he basically does) and anyone who slipped through was still immediately killed by MS. They'd be terrified to find out what he could do if he stored up his Chakra and took a fight "seriously" and that was his goal as a spy.
I really hate being the nerd that always finds a flaw in shit but yk. I think in this story you wrote your Itachi is way too power hungry and like a leader. Also even behind that statement in my opinion itachi would have let sasuke kill him but now without tobi he will never learn the truth but instead here's what it thought would happen: I think itachi would still suspect tobi and he would put amaterasu in his eye. But in this timeline tobi aint a thing cuz kakashi and sakura will probably come first. After a bit of time at the end of the day there probably would be a fight where sasuke sees kakahis sharingan. When that happens kakashi would be caught on fire, more specifically amaterasu. Now i think kakashi can use kamui to get rid of the amaterasu but theres also one thing. Back in the sasori and deidara fight sasuke would also be there. And that way think of it like this: kakashi and naruto can still be in the same team but then the other team would be way too overpowered. So i think Sasuke would be with naruto and sakura would have joined them. After that kakashi would have joined chiyo (idk if thats how you spell her name) so kakashi would have never needed to get rid of deidara's self distruction. Instead the team 7 would have ran away from the bomb or used summons to protect themselves or maybe deidara would not have even self distructed. And this way "kakashis magekyou" plot hole would not have existed. And there would be no kamui. Now back to where we were. Kakashi would die to amaterasu and sasuke would have the magekyou because homeboy would prolly get mad at that shit. Idk the rest maybe this was shit and maybe sasuke just doesnt get a mangeykou, more specifically not this way. Idk tho. (looking back, wtf is this?)

They both had a version of cancer. Kimimaro had bone cancer due to over using his kekegenkai. One bone cell had cancer in it, and when he multiplied his bone cells he also multiplied the cancer. The cancer both feeds off of and reduces a person’s total chakra till it either kills them or reduces their chakra to zero thus killing them.

The Chakra disease is so weird because I always assumed much more valid illnesses that killed them
I always imagined Kimimaro's ability was slowly killing him. He could heal any injuries, which helps with constant damage from bone abilities, but it wasn't regeneration. He was just _healing_ injuries, leaving him with a bunch of scar tissue, both internally and externally.
And I always assumed Itachi was suffering from the physical manifestations of his grief and guilt for killing his clan.
Kimimaru's disease could be something much more mundane too: chronic anemia. Your body needs bone marrow to make blood, and Kimimaru constantly used his in combat. His extensive training and Orochimaru's modifications supercharged that ability, and now every time he fights he needs months to recover.
This way Orochimaru would have wanted him around as a glass cannon, but his body would be way too frail to be a proper host.
As for Itachi, i would give him the old reliable "unnamed heard condition" or say that his extensive usage of sharingan as a child and MS as a teen fucked up his brain chemistry, giving him random seizures and insomnia punctuated by faintings.
Itachi's "Chalkra Disease" was fake he was being poisoned by sasori. If that wasn't the case the and itachi returned to the leaf after completing his mission and became hokage, the leaf village would of probably overthrown their fuedal lord and been the most prosperous village in the land because itachi way smarter than Naruto and Naruto would be of doing more sage training to grow stronger to become hokage, and Kiba wouldnt become hokage because Naruto would have become hokage later in life and Kiba would of passed before he had the chance

I think Itachi's disease was Tuberculosis:
He was coughing up blood and by the end, he was in very bad shape. It was shown several times that he had chest pains, and his data sheet shows that his weight is abnormally low (he probably lost weight after he got sick, one of the symptoms of TB is loss of appetite and weight loss).
Kisame worried several times that he would catch a cold, also one of the symptoms of TB is that the patient often gets cold and falls to bed easily, this would explain the worry quite well. In addition, TB is an infectious disease that was very common for a long time, and in the world of Naruto it is also hinted that Itachi is not the only one affected (e.g. Sai's adopted brother was also weak and coughed up blood before his death, so there is a good chance that he suffered from the same disease, although he did not we got so many hints that this is the problem)
It's a tamer version of TB if it's tb. Actual TB isn't just infectious, it's highly infectious. A lot more people would have been suffering from it in that world I think. There'd be entire pandemics as in this world TB kills someone every 20 seconds. In 2022 1.3 million people passed from TB and it's a lot more controlled now days than what it was in the past. At any rate though you are right that the chakra illness is some kind of pulmonary disease that's attacking Itachi's lungs.

Which, he did have access to a skilled med nin who would’ve been pretty invested in…well not exactly saving him, but at least preserving his body. Maybe he would’ve stood a chance with Tsunade, Shizune, or Sakura in charge of his care vs Kabuto (who didn’t care about ethics and easily could’ve made things worse because, y’know, human experimentation and What Are Ethics.) But, his was pretty much inevitable and killed relatives if they didn’t die in battle instead

Maybe Tsunade somehow gets the information about Itachi and is in a position to help him. She cures the disease. Itachi asks to keep the secret from everyone else. The healer and the killer trade philosophies on doing what for the village. They are the light and shadow of Konoha.
I would like a storyline unfolding in that Tsunade seems to have much information on the Akatsuki. This makes tension grow with the village hidden in the Mist.
This way the story is more dynamic than just a fight vs the Edo Tensei.

Aside from Anko the only other character I can kinda see is Karin. Both members of a mostly wiped out clan. But how you cross their paths and such would be hard. With out Sasuke going to Orochimaru getting the rest of taka out there is a bit difficult. And not sure who would refill Tsunades chakra during the war arc but I guess you could have them meet and start a connection while Orochimaru was in a team with him. IT would also arugably change the most common clan in the head of Konoha if they married before he became hokage. Given that The first, fourth, fith, in this case sixth, and seventh hokage are either dirrectly married to or actually part Uzumaki with Tsunade being at least 25%. Which would not just finally put a uchiha in power, but remove the Senju as the biggest clan of influence to some extent.
The Hyuga are the largest clan of influence. The Senju pretty much disappeared. The average hyuga over all are above the average Uchiha. It isn't until they evolve the sharigan that they become different beast all together while just having the bakugan makes you around jonin level.

Mito Uzumaki, Wife of the first hokage sister in law to the second, who first sealed Kurama and become his Jinchūriki. Skip the Third. Fourth Kushina Uzumaki, wife of the fourth second Jinchūriki. Fifth Hokage, grandaugter of Mito, legendary sanin, No direct family Ties with the sixth. Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki, Third Jinchūriki for Kurama...the list goes on.
My idea was more if Itachi was to be the sixth hokage instead. Having him marry Karin Uzumaki would also kinda make sense with this trend. Also it would give the clans of the two main characters more than a single vector to restore their clan. Literally having blood lines linked to both Indra and and Asura together into a single family for the first time since the sage of six paths.
what if… hear me out… konan? because she may still be alive in this timeline since obito couldn’t have used izanagi in the fight against her because he would lose his sharingan and he wouldn’t have the stash of extra sharingans (bc itachi and sasuke raided his hideout in this timeline). so obito prob would have just fled the fight against her. so konan would still be alive.

Sarada would have to unlock MS first, and I don't think that's the direction they want to go with this generation of characters in terms of themes. More kinslaying and hatred is kinda a step backwards with regards to the cycle of hatred and all.
35:18 Itachi and Anko makes a lot of sense. More or less in the sense they balance eachother out. Both have beef with Orochimaru. But they are opposites in Anko is more on the cheeky side and Itachi on the calm stoic side. But at the core both are professionals.

Maybe all those tests on shinobi in deplorable ways to them and their chakra, Orichimaru accidentally helped cultivate further this impossibly rare disease. He was immune, like nearly everyone. I unironically love Anko and Itachi, it's a really solid pairing, but I also really like Itachi and Kurenai.
Itachi and Kurenai is an excellent idea! They both control their strong emotions with intense practicality, and both lost the person they loved first. They would also make powerful genjustu babies XD I jest, but that would probably be Itachi's main motivation for giving love a second chance. His "childhood" was defined by conflicting loyalties to the Uchiha and the Leaf, culminating in him almost ending the Uchiha bloodline with his own hands. Now that the war is over and he didn't have to die, I think he would consider it his duty to have children. I was thinking he would probably want to find somebody in a similar position, (like Karin), who he could like and respect and see himself co-parenting with, (not like Karin XD).

Other potentials for Itachi:
Kurenai: She is a little bit older than Anko but is a lot hotter and already a good mom. She also had the balls to stand up to Itachi and try and use genjustu on him.
Yugao Uzuki: She was an Anbu captain so she probably would easily understand what Itachi did and is a powerful shinobi in her own right. Can't remember if she survived is the only issue. If she did she would be about Anko's age.
Shizune: She was a powerful medical ninja and still within age range I'm shooting for.
My pick though is Ayame from Ichiraku Ramen. She is the youngest on the list and closest to his age, she is good looking and nice, and she is more useful than part 1 Sakura.

My head cannon about chakra disease is that it's a birth defect in the chakra system. Being born with it is just a matter of bad luck, but it's not fatal for most people. It would be the equivalent to one of us having a defective organ and over exerting it causes cumulative damage to it and the rest of our body. In non-ninjas, they would never even realize they have it. In regular ninja, the worst it would get is pain and decreased fighting ability. But because these two were so strong, it killed them.
That would've been terrifying if Orochimaru got Kimimaro as a vessel.
Two things I've wondered in my own what ifs is.
What if Shino was in the Sasuke retrieval arc? He's super underrated especially in part 1 of Naruto and he never lost a single fight
And what if Kimimaro or Haku survived and joined the Akatsuki. I feel like they had massive potential if they survived and honned their skills

I think among all the what-if's I watched this is my favorite. I want to see the better connection from kakashi and Sasuke, the conversation between kakashi and obito, also the interaction of sasuke and naruto as brothers.
I personally think that this storyline make much more sense tbh.
I think chakra disease may be caused by constantly using up too much chakra or straining yourself. Essentially everytime you run low on chakra and push yourself too much you put yourself essentially at deaths door the more you do that the higher the risk of actual death similiar to a heart attack. To put it simply i see chakra disease develops over time when you push yourself too hard too often. If i had to guess chakra generation and recovery slows down with age meaning that the older you become the weaker your chakra reserves get capacity aswell as how long it takes to get that chakra back after a fight.

I have a very interesting what if idea: What if Tsunade joined the Akatsuki?
It might seem random at first, but what if Orochimaru stayed in the Akatsuki and thus instead of going after Hidan to join the Akatsuki, he tells pain about one of the Sannin who could very easily join the Akatsuki because she could both fight with incredible power and be somewhat immortal. At this point in the timeline, Tsunade is in her worst and has been shown in OG Naruto to listen to Orochimaru and he could tell her that the Akatsuki could bring Dan and Nawaki back.
P.S. I think Tsunade would be a perfect partner for Kakuzu or Orochimaru, but I favor Kakuzu because he didn’t have a partner at this point in time, he wouldn’t be able to kill her, and also I would like to know Kakuzu’s reaction to Tsuande being the granddaughter of Hashirama.
Or maybe if she joins the Akatsuki, she would be with Orochimaru. Cool idea tho!

Ill be honest i did not expect you to like perfectly pull off this what if theory but you legit thought of pretty much everything and how to bring closure to alot of ongoing animosity in the naruto universe I especially liked Itachi becoming Hokage because i always thought he was stupid strong but just never really given a good run to prove his full extent just a battle he purposely lost while being extremely sick. I think it would be perfect if itachi became the first Uchiha hokage because as you said it wouldve brought closure to the uchiha(even if they were all dead) I think it wouldve been a super symbolic moment for the Naruto universe and just as a spectator of the show!!
I am curious on how Itachi being present would affect the story after Shippuden (some of the novels and Boruto), especially on how it would affect Sarada's growth. Would Itachi accompany Sasuke on his research into the Otsatsuki, or would he stay behind in the village, potentially giving Sarada an opportunity for some earlier Sharingan training?

@NCHammer23 Buddy I personally think Koto Amatsukame in both eyes of Shisui works differently, his left eye which was with Itachi casts stronger and unbreakable genjutsu in which eye contact is necessary as we saw Itachi had to bring out the crow from Naruto also it takes 10 years to recharge, on the other hand his right eye which cast genjutsu which is arguably breakable and doesn't need eye contact and can be recharge in 3 days by a non-Uchiha with Hashi's cells, my theory is Shisui's right eye doesn't actually takes 10 years like his left eye, I guess if no-Uchiha with Hashi's cells can charge it in 3 days then why would Shisui, a Pure Blood Uchiha with perfect health take a decade??? It is possible his right eye originally didn't take a decade but maybe few weeks or months...
Another difference is when his right eye cast genjutsu, victims like Mifune were unaware that they are under Koto Amatsukame, but in his left eye genjutsu case, Itachi was aware that he is under Koto Amatsukame....
If Sasuke never got the Curse Mark are you assuming that Orochimaru never attacked them? If so then both Naruto and Sasuke wouldn't be out and it would just be Team 7 vs the Sound shinobi with maybe Lee jumping in if Sakura was having trouble. If they did fight Orochimaru but Sasuke didn't get the Curse Mark then Sasuke would still be up for that whole fight.
It doesn't matter in the long run but just curious.
I also can't think of anyone better than Anko. If not her then probably some random villager or some woman that works in the Hokage's office so they interact enough for something to start. I also imagine that as the eldest Uchiha Itachi would feel a responsibility to have children so even if he isn't ready to love if a nice enough girl confesses to him he would probably accept.

No need for Sage Mode to get stronger than Madara. It's enough if he can get an EMS and train and not die. Madara is only stronger than Itachi, because he's 5x older than him with 5x more training and a superior eye. Itachi is much more intelligent and more talented than Madara, so if he lives and trains and wants to get stronger, he would have surpassed Madara eventually, 100%.

While I think there are a ton of problems in this video, the two biggest are: 1. Kabuto speculated that the Konoha invasion may have been a victory had Kimimaro been healthy, but nonetheless we canonically know that Orochimaru would NOT have been in Kimimaro's body yet because he developed his illness during the Kazekage assassination which took place right after Orochimaru took control of a body, and 2. I don't think there's any way they beat Kaguya without DMS Kakashi.
Based on Kimimaro being able to dodge a rasenshuriken in the war arc, and the fact that Orochimaru is never defeated by Sasuke and instead can take over Kimimaro, putting him well above where he was in any point of Shippuden (especially if he's able to defeat Hiruzen without losing his arms following Kabuto's speculation of it being a success.) Orochimaru very likely could have been a Pain-tier character with those years being spent productively, with Kimimaro's body, instead of spending that time recovering. This is also all ignoring the fact that the war arc heavily relied on Kabuto's reanimation, which he only pursued after feeling meaningless after Orochimaru's death. Without that, we don't even get Madara, and there is no Kaguya either. Also, Zetsu would no doubt continue trying to influence Sasuke, the next incarnation of Indra.
I understand why you made the video the way you did (railroading the story to follow the same path with minor tweaks in how they got there) but I think you can do better.
DMS kakashi was just a fan services and it wasn't even that much powerful. Either way he said kaguya fight will end up the same way that it originally ended. Means obito would still sacrifice himself and lend kakashi his eye's for a sec.

In that world, Orochimaru objectively would not have been in Kimimaro's body prior to invading Konoha. Any justification you try to make is simply incorrect because the illness was not a factor in him not taking his body prior to invading Konoha. Shortly before Konoha Crush, Kimimaro as part of the Sound Five was part of the mission in Orochimaru obtaining a body he switched to, and then they assassinated the Kazekage to set Konoha Crush into motion. Kimimaro fell ill during this assassination and was sent back to the Sound village. This wasn't something he suffered from the whole time - if he was, Orochimaru never would have cared about him anyway.
I like his content generally and I understand that you want to defend him because you think he's really knowledgeable so the random commentor must be wrong, however he did make a mistake. The only speculative part was whether or not Orochimaru would have lost his arms or whether or not Konoha would survive. This plotline still raises all of the issues of Kabuto not playing his role in the war arc. Orochimaru had no reason to die without Sasuke absorbing him and Itachi removing him from that. Without his absence, we never get sage Kabuto playing the chess master and we never get Madara in the war arc.

The only thing it did was throw some kamui-shuriken and that wasn't even that fast. I don't think that was even necessary. The only thing it was needed for was to protect sakura.

Honestly I would've re written the chunin exam portion I believe without orchimaru's meddling team 7 would have been the third team to finish the forest of death at the latest right behind team kuranai and the sand siblings the fight with the sound ninja would never have happened cause they were on assignment to test sasuke after he got his curse mark but since no curse mark no sound ninja fight in the forest of death they get eliminated in the third round prelims like normal sasuke would witness all of them as opposed to being hospitalized until the finals after that everything goes the same as you said

A few years ago I watched a theory video about Itachis disease. The video claimed the disease is called "microscopic polyangitis" (I don't know if that is the right english translation, the video was in German). The evidence from this video would be coughing up blood, major pain in the chest, a weakened body and some more.

I like the idea of Itachi with Anko! Mesh shirt power couple. But also yeah Im not sure of any other established characters he could end up with, and I could see them connecting over being used by powerful ppl, and Anko being one of the few people who didnt take long to warm up to Itachi being brought back, have some slice of life stuff early on in the what if of Itachi being back in the village and her showing him around as a "ik what its like to come back and feel lost" kinda thing. Maybe have her do/say something that reminds itachi of his previous gf, or just in general be one of the people that helps connect him to the village again as a whole
Ems Itachi in this timeline you have creaated wouldve been substantialy stronger than you are making him out to be is the only real issue i have with this. Ems is more than just no more blindness, Ems took Sasuke from 5 kage summit sasuke who vaguely struggled against each and wouldve been killed by Ohnoki, to Ems Sasuke that rivals/matches KCM2 Naruto in the war.
in this timeline youve establshed Naruto functionally doesnt have much change to his story and thus his power (and maybe contextually might have more having a rival to challenge him all those years in sasuke but that wasnt mentioned) and Kurama is an additives/multiplicative power up on narutos base power.
and then we remember that Itachi sstill was in the akatsuki for years and harbored all that hatred from massacring the clan etc etc. Edo tensei itachi is still* weaker than hypothetical alive itachi with chakra diseas. Therefore, a hypothetical prime alive itachi with no disease, massive hatred amp, and now added massive ems amp would arguably stepping on the doorstep to as much power as edo hashirama or between that and alive hashirama in power. .
and when you look at edo hashirama having enough power to more or less rival the incomplete ten tails, This hypothetical itachi would arguably be rivaling an incomplete ten tails we got in the war to a hypothetical full power ten tails.
not that the distinction makes all that much of a difference in the grand scheme of your theory/story. im just saying you still kinda nerfed him when Itachi, the 4 Hokage, Naruto, and Sasuke wouldve done some massive work in the world you have presented if granted the power they actually should have.
Also, Itachi would still be stronger than Sasuke given their progression paths.

It seems like chakra disease tends to affect the super/over powered characters. Maybe the overuse of Chakra or constant use of high levels of chakra/power over several years makes one more susceptible to the chakra disease? One’s not always destined to get chakra disease with high/overuse of chakra, but it becomes a higher risk and likely hood you will suffer from some type/degree of chakra disease, maybe ranging from mild side effects to terminal/highly debilitating effects.
I have an idea for a what if scenario. What if Sasuke didn't have plot armor in the Wave Arc and died from Haku's needles.

My head canon on what Chakra Sickness is: It is something that happens whenever someone is constantly expending large amounts of Chakra for years on end without a real rest or breaking that Chakra usage. For Kimmimaru I think it's constantly controlling the growth of his bones, for this I'm assuming that a side effect of the Kekai Genkai is that his bones are constantly trying to grow and branch off of their own accord and he actively keeps a humanoid form.
For Itachi, I think that after becoming a Rogue Nin he was constantly using Genjutsu to serve different ends. For civilians, he just made himself invisible to them, and when he knew a ninja threw off that Genjutsu like Orochimaru would have.. he immediately chooses based upon the Chakra signature wether to fall on his MS or use a specific almost space-time genjutsu to play the attack through(he does this to Naruto, i forget the episode) and therefore he immediately hard counters the attack. I think he kept those layers up basically constantly while in the Akatsuki as a defense. They'd honestly had probably heard of Itachi before the Uchiha assassination, and definitely would know exactly what he had done through Obito. They'd want him to show off and in time they'd see him use it to walk past low level Ninja like he was invisible, handily defeat any mid/high level threats as if he had precognition(he basically does) and anyone who slipped through was still immediately killed by MS. They'd be terrified to find out what he could do if he stored up his Chakra and took a fight "seriously" and that was his goal as a spy.

I really hate being the nerd that always finds a flaw in shit but yk. I think in this story you wrote your Itachi is way too power hungry and like a leader. Also even behind that statement in my opinion itachi would have let sasuke kill him but now without tobi he will never learn the truth but instead here's what it thought would happen: I think itachi would still suspect tobi and he would put amaterasu in his eye. But in this timeline tobi aint a thing cuz kakashi and sakura will probably come first. After a bit of time at the end of the day there probably would be a fight where sasuke sees kakahis sharingan. When that happens kakashi would be caught on fire, more specifically amaterasu. Now i think kakashi can use kamui to get rid of the amaterasu but theres also one thing. Back in the sasori and deidara fight sasuke would also be there. And that way think of it like this: kakashi and naruto can still be in the same team but then the other team would be way too overpowered. So i think Sasuke would be with naruto and sakura would have joined them. After that kakashi would have joined chiyo (idk if thats how you spell her name) so kakashi would have never needed to get rid of deidara's self distruction. Instead the team 7 would have ran away from the bomb or used summons to protect themselves or maybe deidara would not have even self distructed. And this way "kakashis magekyou" plot hole would not have existed. And there would be no kamui. Now back to where we were. Kakashi would die to amaterasu and sasuke would have the magekyou because homeboy would prolly get mad at that shit. Idk the rest maybe this was shit and maybe sasuke just doesnt get a mangeykou, more specifically not this way. Idk tho. (looking back, wtf is this?)
These “what ifs” are so much better than everyone else’s. Like this guy at least goes based on facts everyone else just pretty much jumps right to Naruto having super god mode

They both had a version of cancer. Kimimaro had bone cancer due to over using his kekegenkai. One bone cell had cancer in it, and when he multiplied his bone cells he also multiplied the cancer. The cancer both feeds off of and reduces a person’s total chakra till it either kills them or reduces their chakra to zero thus killing them.
