    I think the Jim impersonation of Dwight was a joke for the cast, because originally John Krasinski was supposed to play Dwight but insisted the he could play Jim better. Also Wilson and John are off camera buddies.
    Also Dwight put rocks in the snowballs. It would have been one thing to just bombard him with snowballs, but there was rocks and he actually injured Jim.

      i think the snowball fight is honestly the worst prank in the show. in most of the pranks, dwight is never hurt or placed in danger where jim wasnt. for example, the red wire prank had dwight climb a utility pole, which jim also did. in the snowball prank, it was literally just jim throwing a snowball at dwight, pretty much unprovoked. not cool. however, i think dwights disproportionate comeback, while in character, was also not cool. you can see in the talking head segment afterwards that jim is really shaken. however, i think this may cause the best prank of the show, the miracle legumes. the prank itself is very well executed, but my favorite part is the payoff. throughout the episode, dwight is pulling a red paperclip type experiment, trading up to a telescope, which he then trades to jim for the "miracle legumes." you can see in the talking head segment he definitely does feel like a fool, but at the end you can see him planting the legumes in 4 separate pots. after he leaves, jim is shown wheeling in 4 identical pots with fully grown plants inside, even doing a little heel click as he comes to presumably swap them out. this is my favorite prank because neither party is truly made the fool of, in their eyes. dwight got magic beans which, as far as he knows, are actually magic, growing to full size in a day. jim got to see the reactions of dwight as always, but also got a telescope. this wasnt a prank against dwight, this was a prank for dwight. this idea of pranks that make dwight feel better are done a few other times in the series, namely the best man prank, but the miracle legumes is my personal favorite.

    There’s an easy solution to the “time value of money” question as to how much Jim has lost in possible commissions by spending time pts king Dwight instead, and the answer is: Dunder Mifflin commissions are capped throughout most of the series.
    After Sabre buys Dunder Mifflin, in the episode “Manager and Salesman,” we find out that Dunder Mifflin has capped sales commissions, which is likely why Jim can spend so much time with Pam and on pranks without it affecting his livelihood. It also explains why Jim wouldn’t be ranked as high as Dwight in sales. Dwight likely becomes an award-winning salesman because he wants the recognition and to feed his ego rather than because it pays him well.
    So if Jim is hitting his caps regularly, this means that he’s likely occupying his extra time coming up with pranks so he’s not bored at work with nothing to do because more sales won’t mean more money for him.

    • @freshlyfishedbread5567
      @freshlyfishedbread5567 4 года назад +21

      yeah, Jim is obviously a great salesman and there's no doubt that he just has a lot of extra time on his hands. but I think you're wrong about Dwight, I think he just values his work above everything else, and he doesn't want to boost his ego he just wants to be recognized, possibly, just by Michael since he seems to idolize him or because his hard work was never recognized by his parents therfore he seeks recognition from his superior.

    • @hellothere2880
      @hellothere2880 4 года назад +11

      as well in one episode, we see a whiteboard that shows how much money each person had made in whatever time they had. Jim had the highest amount of money made by a pretty good margin. I think it was like 44k to 41k. Jim having 44k. so assuming this was the normal occurrence when Jim tries it shows Jim was more than able to hit his commission caps and sell very well even when he messes around. also, Jim was the eight or ninth-highest salesman in the company when Dwight got his award. and remember this company had at the very minimum 25 salesmen in just the branches that Jan oversaw. and she was just one of the regional directors. even when he messed around and pranked he still hit his marks.

    I agree Jim was being a jerk, pranking Dwight all the time. But Jim never went too far, he always restrained himself from hurting Dwight physically. Also Jim does state that Dwight does a lot of stuff that annoys him, not justifying his behaviour of course. Then again Dwight lit a fire in the office to simulate an actual fire, causing Stanley to have a heart attack. He also used a blow dart to knock stanley out in another episode and slid him down a set of stairs, while he was unconscious. Also I'm pretty sure Asian Jim wasn't hired, he was just helping Jim prank Dwight.

    I once worked in a restaurant where on one of the waitresses last days, as she was cleaning out her locker, one of the busboys snuck out the back with a 3 foot roll of the heavy commercial cling wrap, and wound the ENTIRE roll around her car. It took her like half an hour to cut it off. I worked an another place that had this overhead hopper that dispensed those little styrofoam peanuts, and it was on wheels. A manager had annoyed one of the older welders, so he took the hopper from shipping and rolled it out to the managers Corvette, that just happened to have a window half down, and emptied half the hopper through the window. He then proceeded to get a mailing tube and use it to stuff the peanuts tightly into every crevice he could reach in the vette, and stuff the other half in.

    Are we just gonna ignore that Dwight had an affair IN THE OFFICE. Among that he also shot a gun, made a fake fire, gave micheal his pee to cheat on a test, and made life living hell when he was manager. Jim was totally justified in annoying Dwight

    • @Wookie_oo7
      @Wookie_oo7 4 года назад +9

      I just read up on that and for most seasons it looks like they were just keeping their relationship a secret, which isnt really an affair. The part about Angela marrying a gay senator and timing of Dwight getting her pregnant is vague but is the only part that could be an actual affair and the rest has no affect on the office at all.
      But then we have Halpert who deliberately persued and tormented a woman who was engaged with someone else, happily for a chunk of it too, just so he could date her.

    • @leoanything7285
      @leoanything7285 4 года назад +15

      Wookie_oo7 no Angela was engaged to Andy and during that time Angela and Dwight were hooking up. And Angela could have said no to Andy or broke it off but she didn’t and Dwight knew this but he kept pursuing her. Roy on the other hand was borderline abusive with Pam and that’s why people think it’s okay Jim pursued her. I’m not condoning what he did but it was a vastly different situation.

    The Pilot immediately made me LOVE Dwight. In the first scene with him you see him unlock his desk and pull normal things ppl usually would leave on their desk. Most of all he unplug's his phone from the receiver and locks it up!!! Lmao like someone can't just grab another and plug it in to his receiver Lol
    I knew then Dwight was gonna be an EPIC character! And he is. Michael Scott is great and all but Dwight is the one who made that show possible for more than 1 season.

    I used to work at a restaurant and this is one of the best pranks. In the fall one of the employees bought an inflatable killer whale pool toy on clearance. They then put it inside one of the other employee's car and inflated it. What they didn't realize is that when they closed the door the killer whale was now pushing the electric door lock down. So at 4am Saturday morning when everyone is leaving work he sees there is a killer whale in his car and he can't get in. The best part is him having to call AAA and explain that even though he had his keys, they needed to send someone out to unlock his car door because the killer whale was holding down the door lock and wouldn't let him in.

    I once found a gummy rat and put it in a coworkers desk. About 2 weeks later they had a meeting where they demanded to know who did it and I sure as hell said nothing. The reason I targeted her is because I got tired of her heckling the manager every time there was a meeting, not even as a way to make a valid complaint, just being an ass, and it stopped being funny 3rd meeting in. Probably also explained why everyone else found it amusing.

So this lady came in with a printed sheet ticket she bought at home. However, it was in her bag and she thought she might have left at home. She searched through her bag for about five minutes untill she finally got it. I looked at it and she's at the right theater where her movie is playing which would start about in 30 minutes. But I decided to mess with her when I looked at it and I, "Oh you're at the wrong theater."

Not gonna lie if a coworker came in and threw a snowball at my face while I'm working I'm probably losing my job cause I'm fighting this guy. Dwight's reaction is completely justified. And then Jim again takes it over the top by using a lacrosse stick to throw a snowball at Dwight even harder again inside the office. It would show "you have been hacked" and it took pressing enter 64 times to get it to go away. Over the course of this prank I had gotten several of the interns two full timers and my boss. Well it in a way backfired, my boss asked if we can add a similar one to every computer in our department due to the fact that it was great at forcing people to stick around since we can show them the error message and it would give the police time to show up if someone was being particularly aggressive.

Dwight full on bombarded him with several snow balls which caused him to start bleeding and dwight kept going till he ran out of snow balls. Dwight then got him back in a fair way by scarying him with the army of snowmen, that was fair.
