      No.
Graphite material has the best reflections of light.
When you put down a thick layer of reflective graphite, there's nothing better.

    Wrong.
The manufacturers mix the materials not you.
Your job is to put down a layer that it THICK ENOUGH to reveal the manufacturers hard work on the surface of the paper.
You're NOT the one who creates the values.
The manufacturers do that job in their mixing theories.
You're just selecting the values and putting down a THICK LAYER OF MATERIAL onto the paper.
Bare paper is at a value layer of -100%.
The pencil manufacturers have given you a sample of how much substance you must put down on the paper to get to the zero layer.
That is the minimum level for an acceptable layer of substance.
You test out your layer thickness by getting light to reflect off the graphite.
If the light doesn't reflect, that means your layer of material isn't up to the manufacturers specifications.
You're not allowed to put down a thin layer of graphite.
You must put down the minimum thickness of graphite so you can see the specified value for that pencil ✏️
