That little car doesn't look bad for the money. My opinion is for first time buyers, especially younger first time rc enthusiasts (I've raised 2 of them), parts availability is key. Being able to walk into your lhs and get what you need in time for the weekend to run with your friends or family is important. As far as price, I taught my little rc maniacs to be patient and save your money longer and get a better quality vehicle. You'll be happier in the long run and you can get something back out of it if you get tired of it.

Nice video. I have a few 1/18th scale WLtoys A959B's myself. The one thing I notice the most between these 1/16th = 1/18th scale cars and my former 1/10th scale buggies (Kyosho Optima 4WD, Ultima 2WD) is that the smaller cars bounce more on gravel and dirt than soak up the bumps via their suspension, probably due to their lower mass.
I have 3 different zd racing rc cars. I have not had the greatest experience with them. The very first car came without motor mount and took 3 months to get banggood to send it. Then I put the wheels on and they fall off none stop i ended up over tightening them and bent some parts but other than the wheels . I like the cars they break easier than a arrma but for the price I like them. I now have changed all the wheel nut to hot racing brand and the wheels have never fell off again.
Nice 1/16 scale!… Looks good with the lights and it’s fast too! It’s reminds me of my Losi DBXL-E 2.0 (Fox Version). Will definitely get one to put next to the Losi.

Traxxas 1/16th Eveo will top the list. Fun factor shouldn't be price related. I learned that the hard way getting into bicycling. The Walmart brands loose interest quickly, but a high quality product gives longtime enjoyment.
Having used this truck for some time now, I am pretty sure this is one of the best back yard bashers out there - bar none! Yes, the diffs are weak, but you can stock up on diffs at that price, there is no point in complaining about it... The only real problem is the (cheap and nasty) radio, it has a weird throttle feel and mediocre range. I would gladly pay 5-10 more dollars for a better radio...
I purchased this Rocket And the second time I had it out, it started to make a grinding noise, I checked for a stone but couldn’t find any..I heard Nate mention something about a clutch might have loosened up in an another video, where is it on the rocket, just getting back in the hobby.
I also heard "jocks" I don't have any experience with ZD racing however I think I would much rather save my money and buy something from a major brand that's larger scale. Arrma traxxas, losi, axial with better upgrade availability & warranty support. Currently I have 10 RCs all from major brands so maybe I'm partially spoiled by more expensive cars.
Hey man that looks pretty cool is the spur gear and differentials housed well so that no little stones get stuck either in the pinion or diffs. as my last zd raptor failed in first run badly and can't send back or get a refund.and thanks for your honesty in your videos I really rate that to big thumbs up ✌️ 😁
Anytime I buy a new RC car or whatever it is, including steam engines in all scales. Once it's out of the box, even if it says out of the box ruining. I always inspect everything on the vehicle inside and out. It's become second nature for me. To make sure wires, are out of the way, screws are nice and tight. Especially Wheels, or rotary blade's on helicopters or plains, and boat's. Especially if it's been awhile since the last time it's been run. So that way I have fun running the vehicle and not having any unnecessary down time out in the field. But that's just me, I prefer to have trouble free time running thing's, especially when with the grandkids and having fun with them running them. It's a Big Plus with them, it's a Win Win situation with them running them to have great fun and happy memories.
Does this have 3 tiny plastic gears in the mostly metal differential gear unit? I have the ZD Racing MT-16, which is also 1:16 brushless, and the plastic gears were stripped after some hard bashing.
Mine arrived. 😭 Played with it for one weekend and the rear diff went. Wish I did some more research before buying. It has the same rear diff as the MT-16 so will be as (un)reliable... AVOID!
But in fairness this ad rc is a great buy for the price.i would like you guys to review legendary sonic 1 16 scale brushed or brushless rc available on Amazon also lendgendary 1 10 scale with front and back headlights and tail lights I am team rc sailors but I will let you know if I need to take sides keep up the funny content with the battles over as racing and anything else rc related thanks

Here in Poland we still have Dromida brushed SC18 truck under Revell brand. It's dirt cheap for 50 USD. But gears for Dromida are nowhere to be find now.

I just re'd my Red DTK16. Noticing that the WHITE rims are not what is pictured on the box or listing on BG. I do like the 5 hole style better but was liking the "Bigfoot" tread style and same rims seen on the ZD 16427(rear wing version) Weird how ZD is all mixed up in their products. Has anybody upgraded with other 8mm wheels?
Hey guys! I was searching for a RC " Buggy" now that my dream of owning the HBX 2995 Desert Truck or HBX 12889 Thruster has been crushed! Neither of those are available these days. (a few shady sellers asking stupid high prices or LYING about having in stock! ) I own 2 other HBX Rc's and love them. This one caught my attention with very similar style - drivers, led light bar, rear wheel- I like that look. Giving the date of your post - how has this held up? Hey guys, so I just received my Rocket. When I try to run it, the front wheels spin forward and the rear wheels spin backwards. Basically the car is playing tug of war with itself. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

I don't know, I've recently reaquainted myself with RC airplanes, there is some skill and ability involved with the use of aircraft that seems absent regarding RC surface items. Cars & trucks are more like toys & that might seem creepy for a middle age single guy to be playing with, perhaps I'm way off & there's as much to running RC cars as airplanes, helicopters & quads, the couple in the video do seem to have an awful lot of fun, Nate, I hope you appreciate how rare a woman who is not only tolerant but actually enjoys rc, I don't suppose she has a sister? 😃 Thank you sailors for your channel, I find it incredibly useful and informative.
THREADLOCK or TEFLON thread tape the wheel nut!! Lol. Simple solution. I bet it could get up the hell way easier without the spare wheel on the back. Looks like its rear heavy

The best advice would come from your local RC Flying club members. Fly what they fly, that way youy will get the help for troubleshooting and parts as well. Get a bird with a gyro assist. That said don't go with the A-10 just yet. The Viper or the F-15 is a better choice. Happy flying.

Bad Abby attitude some people are never happy . It's a great little car so is thunder . Keep the throttle pinned on any car while it's rotating an thing will go wrong
I like the hinge thing, would make putting in the battery easier I would think. I just wish that there was a kit to hinge the body on the Deadbolts, the back clips are hard to get to, especially with larger/fat fingers. I laughed so hard listening to y'all bickering in fun back and forth, who doesn't say that y'all ain't informative and entertaining to watch! How does your wife feel about Dromida vehicles? My last experience with Dromida 1/16th was... Not great. Although the brushed --> brushless drivetrain upgrade was about as plug and play as it gets.
Quick questions. I'm looking to get my first cheap rc car after selling my old ones to get rid of some debts caused by my sister and need advice on the best sub $100 or possibly $120 rc car for myself and sub $60 rc car for my brother which can take a bashing and isn't too fast if possible since he is slightly autistic and isn't too careful with things sometimes. Depends on what scale and if you want 2WD or 4WD. You can get some Okay/Good 1/10 Scale RTR for between $99-150 even in 4WD.. from Horizon Hobby. Stay away from the Arrma Voltage! I have one and it's a Piece! even at $99. Or Check out Banggood. Had to Change Motor, 5 Wire Servo, Shocks, Wheel Nuts are too soft and round off, the Speed Control and Receiver are 1 unit, Li-ion Batteries are still pricey and can NOT get over 3000mAh ( anyone claiming More is a Liar!) All this after just a few hours of run time. And I am not the Only one who had to do this.
I am SOLD r/c saylors I will be buying this when I get paid it looks like a little beauty, mylast one was a brushed little piece of shit, so I like dis one and I like ZD racing as a brand, really durable. COOL MAN!!!

It’s a better idea to tighten everything down straight out from the box, be it a buggy or drone before taking it out for a run.

Hey guys, so I just received my Rocket. When I try to run it, the front wheels spin forward and the rear wheels spin backwards. Basically the car is playing tug of war with itself. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

I don't know, I've recently reaquainted myself with RC airplanes, there is some skill and ability involved with the use of aircraft that seems absent regarding RC surface items. Cars & trucks are more like toys & that might seem creepy for a middle age single guy to be playing with, perhaps I'm way off & there's as much to running RC cars as airplanes, helicopters & quads, the couple in the video do seem to have an awful lot of fun, Nate, I hope you appreciate how rare a woman who is not only tolerant but actually enjoys rc, I don't suppose she has a sister? 😃

THREADLOCK or TEFLON thread tape the wheel nut!! Lol. Simple solution. I bet it could get up the hell way easier without the spare wheel on the back. Looks like its rear heavy

Did you tighten them? I’ve driven cars new and forgot to tighten them.
He mentioned the wheels didn't come installed and said he didn't tighten them on well. Oops lol.

The best advice would come from your local RC Flying club members. Fly what they fly, that way youy will get the help for troubleshooting and parts as well. Get a bird with a gyro assist. That said don't go with the A-10 just yet. The Viper or the F-15 is a better choice. Happy flying.

I like the hinge thing, would make putting in the battery easier I would think. I just wish that there was a kit to hinge the body on the Deadbolts, the back clips are hard to get to, especially with larger/fat fingers.

My last experience with Dromida 1/16th was... Not great. Although the brushed --> brushless drivetrain upgrade was about as plug and play as it gets.
Quick questions. I'm looking to get my first cheap rc car after selling my old ones to get rid of some debts caused by my sister and need advice on the best sub $100 or possibly $120 rc car for myself and sub $60 rc car for my brother which can take a bashing and isn't too fast if possible since he is slightly autistic and isn't too careful with things sometimes. Depends on what scale and if you want 2WD or 4WD. You can get some Okay/Good 1/10 Scale RTR for between $99-150 even in 4WD.. from Horizon Hobby. Stay away from the Arrma Voltage! I have one and it's a Piece! even at $99. Or Check out Banggood.
Had to Change Motor, 5 Wire Servo, Shocks, Wheel Nuts are too soft and round off, the Speed Control and Receiver are 1 unit, Li-ion Batteries are still pricey and can NOT get over 3000mAh ( anyone claiming More is a Liar!) All this after just a few hours of run time. And I am not the Only one who had to do this.
