This is great advise. One thing that's helping me is writing down the bad parts of the relationship. And everyone has them. Our mind plays tricks and shows only the good. Keep the bad parts in your pocket and check them when your mind is telling you they were the best thing ever.

Wow, watching this video has greatly brought a different perspective to my mind as opposed to how I've been thinking/feeling. I was with someone for almost 6 years and it's taken me a few years to "heal". I definitely went through that crying/emotional breakup stages the first year and since than I thought I've been "healing. I haven't been in a relationship since my last but I have gone on dates here and there. As of recently I have realized that I haven't truly allowed myself to move forward. My ex certainly moved on from me within months of our breakup which for so long I was so pissed/hurt. All in all, what really stood out to me in this video discussion was when he said "your heart is not broken but your expectations were". It was then that I've been telling myself all this time that I need my heart to heal but I'm tired of wanting to happen and I need to really fix the root of the problem which is my mind. This is great advise. One thing that's helping me is writing down the bad parts of the relationship. And everyone has them. Our mind plays tricks and shows only the good. Keep the bad parts in your pocket and check them when your mind is telling you they were the best thing ever.

Wow, watching this video has greatly brought a different perspective to my mind as opposed to how I've been thinking/feeling. I was with someone for almost 6 years and it's taken me a few years to "heal". I definitely went through that crying/emotional breakup stages the first year and since than I thought I've been "healing. I haven't been in a relationship since my last but I have gone on dates here and there. As of recently I have realized that I haven't truly allowed myself to move forward. My ex certainly moved on from me within months of our breakup which for so long I was so pissed/hurt. All in all, what really stood out to me in this video discussion was when he said "your heart is not broken but your expectations were". It was then that I've been telling myself all this time that I need my heart to heal but I'm tired of wanting to happen and I need to really fix the root of the problem which is my mind.
