Just a quick question, maybe someone can help me: what "style" is it? Solo Charleston, solo Shag (I thought, I saw some Shag moves) or Authentic Jazz? Sometimes I get confused with all the swing dance styles - anyway it looks SO uplifting and light!!
I don't think you need (or should) separate these styles very strictly. Solo Charleston is for me part of Authentic Jazz (I have no idea about Solo Shag, but I'd assume the same). The lines were not existent or verry blurry back then as far as I know, so we shouldn't put too much emphasis on them today (f.e. "You can't do that move in Solo Charleston because that is a Solo Shag move"). What you can say is that this move is coming from the Charleston area, or is coming from tap. Best example is the Shim Sham. It is a tap routine, but it has been adjusted for the non-tappers and now it is an Authentic Jazz routine. I'm not an expert, but maybe it helps or at least gives food for thought :).
