Great topic. The biggest thing that I find to be more affordable at Hermes is their ready to wear, granted at the same time I’m not sure if they do a lot of business in RTW. I’ve had a similar experience to you at the Hermes boutique, the sales associate seemed genuinely remorseful for the stores abysmal inventory in RTW. The brand remaining independent and not becoming apart of a conglomerate has done wonders for preserving their integrity.
I give them and always gave them credit where credit is due and I criticize them where I feel they make mistakes. I don’t love any brand blindly. No brand is perfect and no person is perfect. 💖💫
I have some Hermes rtw, I do like it a lot, but I have had to refuse leather jackets, skirts that we had brought in for us that were poorly put together. Every time that happened the piece was made in Italy rather than France. My husband has some custom suits from Hermes and they are impeccable. I would say reasonably priced for being custom…fun fact, the gentleman chooses two silk scarfs from the store after choosing their suit fabric to line the jacket. No journey for me though! I only like what I like!!!
Been saying this for years now: made in Italy is best for brands that are Italian. They are respected by the factories somehow more while French brands usually get the lower grade production allegedly. I can speak for myself only of course but usually its the made in Italy pieces from French labels that are lacking in quality and not the made in France pieces from French labels. We, on the other hand, also basically never see an Italian brand with pieces made in France… there is a reason for that. The worst Chanel pieces I owned were all made in Italy and the Chanel pieces I had to return because they were very flawed in production and material quality was super low were also all made in Italy. That tells me all I need to know really. 💖

From my testing out Hermes rtw quality, I can say its in my opinion much better than all the other luxury fashion brands I have seen and tested so far.
Think about it, Hermès a real luxury brand focused on quality not charging the crazy over-the-top prices some other "luxury" brands are charging nowadays. It opened my eyes about other brands to be honest. Especially LV. I still love my LV items but I'm not comfortable paying high prices for low quality and unfortunately low quality has become an issue for LV.

I noticed that the leather is good for their classic lines: 2.55 and classic flap, with a better quality for the distressed leather than the lamb skin. The seasonal bags look cheaper however :/
I buy most of my luxurious shopping at Hermès! My life is quite simple (nothing fashionista about me 😅) and Hermès style are like that! Simple and high quality… Also cheaper! Most of items are under $1K and I use a lot of items from the men collection! They T-shirt are around $250! I buy at Hermès no just because of the quality, but also the prices! 😂
Valentino and Bvlgari are high end luxury but just not on the level of Hermes, Chanel, Dior and LV. There is a divide between them still. After all, Bvlagri is a jewelry house and not known for clothing and fashion and Valentino is at Fendi levels but still stuck in a world of tacky studded bags and shoes for its pret a porter offerings.
Hermie is who I started with so ya that's my go to. But I am not interested in the bags too much. I know that's crazy right?!! But ya. I lk the cosmetic bags & pouches for the beach. I appreciate their luv for horses. Luv my cashmere scarf. Luv my coffee cup. No one I know even knows what it is. I enjoy that. Lk my little secret. Luved the topic. Luv ya kid!!
Hi, Dacob! Did you check for instance Toolbox bag? Hermes discontinued it, but it has very friendly price point on second-hand market and it is a workhorse made according to Hermes standards.
Chanel in Australia is extremely hard to get anything. I’ve seen wealthy clients even going through methods to source bags from resellers because it’s near impossible to buy Chanel bags here. If I ever buy one it’ll be in Europe :’) I agree that Hermes has retained a better long term strategy. Chanel feels like they’ve compromised craftsmanship for greed and in a thoughtless manner. They can put minimum effort and get maximum results so why bother. While I adore Chanel for many reasons it’s hard to justify the crap show.
I have experienced first hand the tragic situation in Melbourne in both Chanel and Hermes boutiques. Stock is very low indeed. And as for Chanel quality… I stopped buying their leathers this past summer because its just terrible quality and thats that. 💖🌈
I believe you put it in wrong order. Birkin, Kelly and Constance are quota bag. You don’t jump the ladder to Constance. Only way to get an exotic quota bags, you need to buy big pieces fine jewellery.

How can Hermes affordable when u need to buy Constance toget B/K. Toget B/K Exotic u need to spent Exotic Constance.
