    I really like how you say its not only for hunting use but other uses like camera / fire arms / backpacking. I really enjoyed this review. Thanks for taking the time to do this video.

    Nice review. Solid, durable bino pack. As a hunter I find some issues: the snap that it makes when the lid closes is too loud. I think even if carefully closing it still might make a snapping type noise. Hell of a case, maybe for some it will work for them. Once again thanks for a great review!

    Nice review! You went through everything I wanted to know and now I have one on its way to me. Thanks for taking your time to do this video. I appreciate it a lot!

      Thanks! I just got back from Montana and I and a Marine buddy of mine each have one and they worked out just fine. matter of fact, I crawled over 800 yds trying to stalk Pronghorn and it worked really nice for that.

    I've carried a Badlands XR harness for four years. I loved it until I went to Colorado for an elk hunt in an area where I'd never been. Obviously, I needed to use a compass/GPS/Phone/Watch for navigation. The magnets, while strong enough to keep the lid closed at all times, really interfered with my compass and other devices. I didn't ever notice it while hunting in areas that I already knew the location and didnt' need assistance finding my way around. Every other thing about the case is great.

    Great review, very thorough. I'm still trying to find the part where you were trying to show us how to show up on your end. I asked another channel to check and I showed up. He said if the videos are coming in and I'm notified, I should show up. I'm still going to try to get to that part you showed last video. Not just because I want to be entered in your gaw, but to make sure I'm showing up everywhere I should. Somehow I have to get to the privacy part to check. Thanks a lot Tony

      I see you now Tony! I can see 49 of 100 subscribers right now. I have a couple pm's from folks and we're trying to sort out what's what so the drawing will be on hold for a bit. Hopefully by weeks end seeing how I just notified everyone. And in the video the statement at the top of the screen via RUclips shows, "Only Subscribers that show their Subscriptions publicly are shown." So that goes back to the part of checking or not checking the box. To show up on a Channels Subscriber List you have to share you subscriptions.

      Tikka 300 WSM ... Ha! Yeah, it has some size but it’s light and comfortable. I crawled over 800 yds or so with it and my Howa 6.5 CM onna Pronghorn hunt in MT.

    The only issue I have come across with this front pack is climbing into some tripod stands... i have been caught in some scary situations where I have gotten hung up and had to take a step back down because I couldn’t climb in safely. I love the pack, but I suggest testing climbing in and out of the stand with it before the hunt.

    Great review. I like how you did not simply regurgitate the specs from the website as many do. I was looking for a bino case mainly for archery shoots and hunting. I also wanted one that was NOT cammo and suited for hiking. Any chance you could post up a video of putting a few different binos in the case to show fit? Great video, keep them coming.

      Thanks. Alas... I do not have a variety of binoculars to offer as examples. I have been looking at the Vortex Diamondback 10x42 Roof Prism Binocular that does fit in the XR. The Vortex Viper HD 10x42 does as well. They state just about any 10x42 but I'd take the XR to the sore and fit a few you're interested in, like I did. Hope these give you a better idea though. Vortex optics.com has measurements next to each set on their website. I do have a little review on the Vortex ranger 1000 rangefinder coming out next week.

    This is good.. I have never used a bino pack and only noticed folks using them for the past year. How well do you like wearing one in the field? After I learned about them I'm thinking I should have one as I live with binoculars for the most part.. I never go out without them..

    Nice review. Nothing worse than discovering an animal, to scaring it away due to noisy zippers or Velcro.

    Good review. Have you shot your bow with the Bino XR on and with the flaps open? IF so, how does it do with them open? Also are there any problems with the flaps slamming shut unexpectedly ?

    • @CKKnifeandTool
      @CKKnifeandTool  6 лет назад +1

      I have not shot my bow with it yet. That sounds like a great idea for an update video in 2018. As for the flaps, I have not had them slam shut unexpectedly. I did have the rangefinder flap open on me but I was crawling on my hands and knees and then doing a little belly crawling on my pronghorn hunt in Oct. I guess the friction pulls the flap when grabbed by the ground and real thick brush.

    I have the Dmag version of this. It’s nice. But it’s bigger. Couldn’t see a smaller one being useful. Get the Dmag. It’s perfect for 10x42 and rangefinder down under. Smaller than the Dmag would be to small for 10x42

    Can you give me an idea of the internal dimensions for the binocular portion of the pack?

    • @CKKnifeandTool
      @CKKnifeandTool  7 лет назад

      Hi JJ. Sorry for the late response. The internal area for the binoculars is approx. 6 3/8" tall x 5 1/2" wide and 2" deep. The opening to remove or place the binoculars is approx. 4 1/4" x 5". This unit is meant for nothing larger than a 10x42 binocular, (per badlands). I have a set of Vortex Diamondback 10x42's coming this week and will use those on my hunt this fall. I'll update this video with a Part 2 going over any issues and what seemed to work/ not work. Thanks for the support!

    I have just purchased this case to hold my lecia hdb geovids 10 x 42 and a pulsar xm30s thermal that is about the same size as a leupold range finder, the case is ridiculously small in reality compared to the video the side pockets are to small to hold anything of significance and the binos don’t fit if the thermal is in the lower pocket I can just about get them in with the binos poking out the top this is not an XL, like most things these days it’s made to the minimum-size to save every penny or cent it’s an really well made product but has massively failed with a ridiculous size for a full size binocular and range finder 🤦🏼‍♂️

    • @CKKnifeandTool
      @CKKnifeandTool  3 года назад +1

      Well, it’s not made for full size binoculars nor any larger fancy optic like you’ve mentioned. And, as shown, I don’t use the items you’ve stated. Besides, who really wants to walk through the woods and crawl to a shot with large bino’s? As for thermals... why would you need thermal optics hunting? Perhaps if you hog hunt in Texas at night but 95% or more of North American hunting is dawn to dusk. Badlands aren’t the end all be all but you have to be realistic in your expectations
