The Kingdom of Jordan is caught in the crosshairs of the latest confrontation between Iran and Israel. Jordan is facing a tough balancing act as anger among its people grows over the country's role in downing Iranian drones targeting Israel. For many back home, the military intervention seems to be a clear step in Israel's defence. Jordan hosts the largest diaspora of Palestinians and has been their greatest supporter in the region. To assuage anger, Jordan's officials have released multiple statements saying that the country's actions were in self-defence and to protect its sovereignty. Earlier, Iran's Armed Forces had warned Jordan could be the next target if it intervenes during the attack. Watch this video for details.

The devastation of that war left Jordan with a weaker economy and left millions in Jordan poorer and miserable. Getting angered people to go to war was easy but dealing with the devastation afterwards was not. Egypt suffered economically and saw a series of coups, Syria & Iraq are in shambles to date and it was US that came to the aid of Saudi Arabia becoz they did not want Oil Prices to go up thus affecting EU economy. The Arabs had the numbers but they still lost and Israel got a reason to occupy more Palestinian land. You saw Egypt that was once a hardcore supporter of Palestine close it's borders for Palestinians. Jordan since then has focused more on providing a home for the homeless, aid and supporting Palestinians economically. If they go to war, the aftermath of it. This Iranian attack was in retaliation to Israeli initiation, bombing Iranian embassy in Damascus therefore it was a bilateral issue between Israel and Iran NOT Gaza, West Bank or for sake of Palestine. When Israel carries attacks on Iranian proxies in Syria that's different and Jordan never objected or did something against Israeli strikes, because it's in between two archrivals. Did Jordan condemn Israel attack on Damascus embassy? This Iranian attack on Israel was a complete bilateral issue. I strongly believe Jordan should have left Israel and allies to respond. By implicating herself in Iranian retaliation, Jordan kingdom proves and condones Israeli illegal attack on Iranian embassy in Damascus, which is against UN charter and even condemned by Saudi. To your second topic Hamas, listen my friend I understand Hamas is as bad as IDF and Hamas started it. If it were only Hamas getting killed it would have been a different scenario but we are witnessing collateral damage is way too high than Hamas. This is completely understandable considering it's size and the fact that it shares resources with Israel, mainly water. I don't think that Jordan proves/condones the Israeli attack in Damascus. Jordan has a lot to lose in case of an escalation in the middle-east, and trying to minimize the chances for an escalation is the smartest thing to do in terms of 'realpolitik'. Regarding going against the UN charter, well, I don't know who's worse in that respect: Israel or Iran. Israel's treatment if the Palestinians is a disaster.. a very regrettable affair.. but Iran is guilty of destabilizing and terrorizing the middle-east for decades now. It operates violent proxies all over the place , from the Houthi rebels who wreak havoc Yemen to the Hezbollah who for decades now bombs and shells Israeli civilians. Iran did plan out a Beautiful strategy to test out their capabilities. This should have been dubbed, 'Operation test the Skies'. Israel knew the time, the operation was going to take place, but Iran managed to hit it's targets anyway. It also got to see, how the alliance flank works, when defending Israel. This give it more information on how the alliance would probably attack Iran too, in the future.
Now information is what shapes strategies. This is the only reason, Iran is calling it a success. It has nothing to do with sending fire power to Israel and scaring them, symbolically, but everything to do with war maps and strategies. Iran now knows where those flanks are. Just like how the West sacrifices a few ships, so it can pinpoint the Houthis Operations in the Red Sea for air strikes afterwards and getting information of bases.
Besides, it cost Israel 1.2 billion dollars. The bill from the US and UK side, we still don't know yet. Iran now knows something and will find ways how to increase this cost that Israel pays, to 10, 20 times more. That's a financial disaster that will break Israel's banks or American tax payers money.

Over the years of watching the middle east what i realized the general population and the leadership institution view thing very differently especially hot button issues there is massive disconnect but who have the guns set the rules and we know who that is in many of these countries
It's more than that. Political parties and ideologies cross borders and try to influence/ stir citizens of the other. This creates instability and regimes end up aligning themselves for preservation.
