Excellent demonstration of how the clave 2-3 and 3-2 rhythm works with a simple piano exercise.

This is the very first video that actually made the rhythms clear to me. I can’t wait to try it out on my piano tomorrow!

Wow....I really love the way you tried to show the theory of the 3:2 & 2:3 clave. Makes more sense to me now and easier to learn and feel both claves. I know I'll not go wrong by learning the rhythms slowly. Thank you so much for all the montuno lessons from 1-4 :)

Wow! I'm totally cut out for this!
I've been playing piano for a long time, but I've always had an interest in rhythm. So I can't get past 'drumming' on the keys.
I'm used to classical but this is great!
    Thanks

This has really helped me to understand playing off beat, where the clave picks up the beat and so on. I worked out the chords for the montuno, so now I'm going to try to work on coordinating my right and left hand. Sticking to triads for now though.

yeaaaahhh ...to hear and feel that sound and kind of rythm on such a powerful instrument like the piano is so enormous activating!! and i think i know what i have to do in 2017...learning more montuno!!!! to be able playing that way seems to be a dream ;D .. i am dancing salsa cubana for a few years now, it is great to sea in the last excercises 7&8 how you are using the clave ;D which is so hard for everyone to hear in salsa music ... and to get familiar with!!!

Thanks for commenting. The chords are Am - Dm6 - E7 - Dm6. I'm sure you'll succeed! Btw - this kind of exercises is very helpful for playing all kind of ostinatos.
