    I was going to say I saw someone do this around a decade ago back when I was in school and I really, really wanted to build one. Then I looked and you're that someone.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Szajner This is the real one, The Laser Harp was invented in 1980 and patented as well. One of the main artist playing this instrument is Jean-Michel Jarre.

    That is very cool! How does it sense the beam contact with your hand?

    • @crazeman5522
      @crazeman5522  Год назад +18

      Optical sensors detect the reflected laser light from the beam from your hand. It correlates the reflected light with the beam timing to figure out which beam your hand is in.

      @@crazeman5522 so basically detected light at X ms represents Y note because they're all lit sequentially one at a time at high rates to fake a constant light?

    Hi Eric, Is this laser harp a product that is available for purchase? I do J M Jarre music covers and a laser harp is a must have. If it's just the bare board like in the video I'm happy to fit it in a case. I discovered my last harp I had (built from a kit) stopped working after being in storage for a period of time so I'm hoping you may be able to sort me out with my next laser harp.

    Despite the uselessness. I like proof-of-concept things. Can a laser measure height now? How about a tracking camera? Or gloves with sensors? Maybe the laser harp should be just an illusion and calculation does something else?

    • @crazeman5522
      @crazeman5522  Год назад +2

      I do have some ideas on how to measure height without any additional sensors. Still going to require some more firmware and testing. I will keep you all updated!

      @crazeman5522  Год назад

      If you are asking does it require a lot of code to function you are correct. The current project requires 10's of thousands of lines of code.
