I used to live up there and drove a large suburban which was a pain on those roads. You drive phenomenally and it was cool to watch from your perspective. 🎉🎉 Great job!
The drive up the hill was a thrill. Can you imagine being in a car coming around a corner and there is big Flipper coming at you. Mercy. Great job. I wondered about the spreader bar but Alex covered it well in the break down. I should have guessed. The 4Runner must have been running to crash through the wire and other stuff. I think I would have tried to back up the hill since I was in a off roader. Thanks Josh and Alex for making my day.
maps did you dirty, I live in this area and there's a back way to get up there that is less tight. I'd hate to be driving that thing all the way up the hill haha props!
I find it tight at times driving my SUV in the Hollywood Hills with those serpentine roads. Can’t imagine taking your rig up there. Interesting recovery! It’s a labyrinth! PS - those drivers meeting you on the streets around the curves must of been surprised! PS2 - you have to wonder how the driver managed to jump the curve and end up down the hill?
I owned a 4runner. There's no reason that Toyota didn't drive itslef right out. 🤣 That said, there's two kinds of drivers: those who send a Toyota through a guard wire, and those who drive a heavy wrecker to the Hollywood sign. 🤘
@@amzarnacht6710 You run the winch under the carriage. I have used my winch for so many ways other than "Missionary" position its crazy. I lost 2 bolts on my tcase bracket on my K5-ran the winch under, through the frame and through an eyelet. Winched tight and got her home. That Toyota "crawl feature" though.
I love how with such narrow streets that Alex just barrels through traffic. Definitely a skilled driver. As for the recovery I’m sure Alex could have done that with his eyes closed
In the beginning when you were driving up the narrow streets it is so awesome the respect those drivers coming down showed you by pulling over to let you through!!
Well Alex & Vicenti !!! Great job well done again !! That was the only ""OFF ROAD "" Adventure that vehicle will ever have !!! Have a great ""HOLIDAYS "" to ALL & Have a good night !! 👍👍👍👍👍
A Peterbilt vs any passenger car is a no win...good seeing that nobody gave you guff in getting up there. navigating those tight roads shows just how well you know the truck Alex. An easy recovery as you said, but as always, done efficiently and with next to no damage. I do love your Christmas tree...a great backdrop🙂
Seeing the way you work, taking the time to do the job without doing more damage to the vehicle or the environment of the incident, shows care and quality work. There's more then a few tow service yt's, one in the deserts in particular, where it's all brute force and no eff's given to reducing damages done. Glad to see you have a higher standard of professionalism, right down to the way you speak to people!
Buenas noches, Alex, una carretera con bastantes curvas y estrecha con subida, pero llegasteis, un buen trabajo, gran ayuda , chante, un saludo, Alex.❤👏👌💪👍🇪🇦
Wow dude, just getting up those narrow windy hilled roads is a nightmare, especially with far too much car traffic going on at night time. I guess when those roads were made, they never factored in big recovery trucks driving on them. Thank goodness that Flipper had that tag axle, I know it can't be used at all times, but in the turns that worked. A rotator that can rotate the boom-crane 360 degrees, is an obvious advantage in this scenero. This was an expert job on a strange situation.
Great job as always. That road up to the sign has changed a lot since I made it up to the sign about 60 years ago. My Jeep was a lot smaller than your Pete.
The best part of the video was Alex trying to negotiate the tight turns and traffic on the road up to the recovery. I would not take my 38 foot motor home up there. Best to you Alex
I grew up in the area and used to shortcut through the route you took when traffic was bad on the 101, it was tight even in my regular pickup truck. If you ever have to come up here again you're probably way better off going up Barham and then Lake Hollywood, still a pretty twisty route but at least most of it is normal two-lane roads and it doesn't have any of those crazy switchbacks. There's a GWVR limit sign on Lake Hollywood but it's just there to keep the star tour buses out, the city still runs all kinds of heavy equipment through there and they're not gonna mess with an OPG tow on official business. DWP also has a truck bypass from Cahuenga to the lake that'd be even better but I don't know if you could get in there or not.
Great edit on this one Josh! Those tight streets are something else! I always try and see if there are any parts from GTA 😂 Superb work as always Alex and Vicente 🙌🏻
What's up Alex, Wow you use more video of getting to the Job than lifting the truck, but the sidekick was already there and it working like a charm, PEACE OUT BRO'S
Great work, Guys. I have a very similar 4Runner, and I'm pretty sure I could have backed her out with some maneuvering, unless it was lodged on a stump or rock.
Well, Alex certainly knows how to handle big flipper that’s for sure. Those roads are so tiny but again it’s not the first time he had to go through these type of roads
It's nice that traffic going downhill is following the law by giving you the right of way! (Traffic going UPhill always has the right of way. It is easier for downhill traffic to get moving again after stopping. it's a lot harder for uphill traffic to do the same.)
Brought WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too fucking big of a truck for a simple job. A regular dually with a 12,000 lb winch would have been able to pull that out in no time.
To Josh and the crew over at Peppe's Towing ... Thank you for posting this, not that I like hearing about someone wrecking a new vehicle, but I was thinking ... What has Peppe's Towing been up to
Alex, you are too modest. That was an amazing driver (you) driving Big Flipper through those tiny streets. I love the work you do! Merry Christmas and nice Dodgers Christmas Tree.

Hats off to the driver of that behemoth of a truck through those hills.
You never drove semi in North Montana (west or east is equally hard)? You should try it, this is easy. Kidding! It's worse than downtown NYC.
@@YouKnowImRight2 this is not easy at all. this takes skill patience and a lot of practice

Alex knows Big Flipper like the back of his hand. He did a great job like you say! 💪🏼

Hats off to you Alex, it takes some serious skills to drive such a big rig on roads like that. 👍👍👍

Correct a Mundo.
And it has ALL the recovery gear installed. Just your typical "look at me". :( That is a BAD ass wrecker!
Dirt was too loose for it to back out. And since it went nose in if there was a winch it was facing the wrong way.

I'm always amazed at the places you are able to fit Big Flipper. Some of those roads look barely wide enough to fit a Toyota Prius.
I sure don’t envy you have to drive thru those roads. But you did a professional job as always.
why is this so satisfying to watch. LOL . Those maneuvers through them hills with that gargantuan is amazing.
Oh Alax I’m only 3 minutes into this, you’re the man! Driving up those skinny streets, well done.

Agreed, the oncoming cars where good at reversing and pulling over. I guess that is mostly local people, used to these narrow streets,

$50,000 on unnecessary over landing gear and they don’t even know how to drive the vehicle on streets 😂
Yes and there isn’t any place to over landing in the states. When you see all that you know they aren’t doing any actual off-road
