sometimes, we are unsure if this actually happened to us at some point in our life, because we forget our memories about someone, something, be it that name of the song, or the name of the person you met. A fond memory, a important encounter, forgotten. You think, and think, but you find nothing, except that what's left inside you is a feeling of emptiness, sorrow and loss. Then, you realise that what you have forgotten, will never appear again will never get the chance to experience or encounter it again. It is a feeling that you that your life has been fragmented, or part of who you are is missing, which is hard to put to words. Thats what i like about this movie.
God, you just made me remember all of my childhood friends that I live with for years when suddenly I have to move 500 miles away from them. We use to go to school together, we will go play and see the fish near the river. Just the seven of us playing, living and having fun as friends. It has been 8 years since I have seen them. I forgot their names, their voice and even some of their faces but still remember what we do and I cried, I really cried thinking about them. I feel like a lot of people are shaming foreigners who like Japan and their culture. Often times, I hide the fact that I watch anime and read manga to some people too because that’s how society see us otaku. But I’m so into Japan because of the influence from anime and manga. They gave me a taste of magic, living in a fantasy world, seeing the beauty of our world that were blinded by society, gaining trust in love, family and friendship, believing in hopes that we are almost losing. I feel like I can breathe better when I’m drowning myself in all these. Taking all the lessons I learned and opening my eyes to see the world at a different yet better view. Not all otaku are living in their room from their parent’s house with all windows closed, most probably fat and ugly wearing glasses, only into waifu. We are all human beings just like everyone else that wants to believe in hope. Sounds cliché but what’s the origin of cliché?
People tend to get jealous when someone is passionate about something, because they’re missing that passion. Or they’re just an ass or a troll, which neither should be given any attention too. Good comment btw
You know, I used to wonder myself why some people are like that though. I mean what's the problem with anime? They think anime is just kids stuffs like cartoon shows or just full of ecchi stuffs? And back when I am at school I notice one of my friend is being called an 'otaku kid' by others but he seemed quiet about it, I went on with him as usual and only to end up liking anime myself. XD Apparently, when some months have passed, they noticed that I liked anime(or so they thought) because I got a keychain of Hatsune Miku at my pencil case(gift from that friend of mine). And you know what, I openly said this to them "Well what's wrong with liking anime?"...1 replied "it's for kids only", then I showed him AoT and HunterXHunter. He went silence after that, I also told them some pretty good anime that maybe they should try giving a go(I don't know what happened after that). The next few weeks, that otaku friend of mine called me 'Weebs', that sounds funny really. I guess it's because I am more 'opened' to others about anime stuffs and I am still with the society although they know it clearly and I'm not even trying to hide that fact. People can be funny sometimes. And I totally understand your passion towards animes. Have a nice day.
Sometimes, people just can’t discern between being overly obsessed and actually having a passion for Japan and their culture. I entirely agree with you. One day i’d love to visit Japan, of course every country has their own culture and what not but Japan just seems like a nice place. I will never forget the first time I saw this movie ... I had ended my relationship with my girlfriend for reasons that were beyond us, I was extremely shaken. I always postponed the film, because I wanted to see it with her, she had already seen it but wanted to see it with me. When I watched it alone and this song started playing, I burst into tears, the lyrics of the song were so perfect... I felt that the singer spoke directly to me. Often in my life, I go through out my day and then suddenly I stop and feel like something is missing, that was never there. Just rewatched this movie for 4th time and I realized again how much I love it. It has to be the best animated movie I've ever seen. Though studio ghibli has also many movies I love, this does something even more special.

This just gives me goosebumps every time. Tenki no Ko was great but it just didn’t have this same magic. Shinkai really made the one of the greatest works of all time. And he’s not even reached his peak, that’s the craziest part. Walking around Tokyo listening to this is magic.

I feel like I can breathe better when I’m drowning myself in all these. Taking all the lessons I learned and opening my eyes to see the world at a different yet better view.
Not all otaku are living in their room from their parent’s house with all windows closed, most probably fat and ugly wearing glasses, only into waifu. We are all human beings just like everyone else that wants to believe in hope.

People tend to get jealous when someone is passionate about something, because they’re missing that passion. Or they’re just an ass or a troll, which neither should be given any attention too. Good comment btw
You know, I used to wonder myself why some people are like that though. I mean what's the problem with anime? They think anime is just kids stuffs like cartoon shows or just full of ecchi stuffs? And back when I am at school I notice one of my friend is being called an 'otaku kid' by others but he seemed quiet about it, I went on with him as usual and only to end up liking anime myself. XD
Apparently, when some months have passed, they noticed that I liked anime(or so they thought) because I got a keychain of Hatsune Miku at my pencil case(gift from that friend of mine). And you know what, I openly said this to them "Well what's wrong with liking anime?"...1 replied "it's for kids only", then I showed him AoT and HunterXHunter. He went silence after that, I also told them some pretty good anime that maybe they should try giving a go(I don't know what happened after that).
The next few weeks, that otaku friend of mine called me 'Weebs', that sounds funny really. I guess it's because I am more 'opened' to others about anime stuffs and I am still with the society although they know it clearly and I'm not even trying to hide that fact. People can be funny sometimes. And I totally understand your passion towards animes. Have a nice day.
Sometimes, people just can’t discern between being overly obsessed and actually having a passion for Japan and their culture. I entirely agree with you. One day i’d love to visit Japan, of course every country has their own culture and what not but Japan just seems like a nice place. Every country has its problem but even so, Japan is one of those countries that catches my eye.

This just gives me goosebumps every time. Tenki no Ko was great but it just didn’t have this same magic. Shinkai really made the one of the greatest works of all time. And he’s not even reached his peak, that’s the craziest part.
