I'm sharing with you everything I know about STEM (being a STEM graduate)!! In this video, I will be talking about the stuff I experienced as well as some things I wish I knew before I went to Senior High School.
I'm grateful to my teachers and to my Alma Mater (OLOPSC) for doing their best for us to have a quality education while still having a good time!

Incoming grade 11 here po, doubting myself on taking stem because I'm not very good at math but my determination to be part of the medical field is very high. I'm very nervous kase entrance exam palang parang walang Wala na ako. Sabi ng mga iba Jan wag ko na daw ituloy kase apakahirap. And I came across this video and it's really helping to ease my nerves.

@Chelzy Marie we are the same, my first choice was gas but then my wanted course for.college is under stem thats why i wrote stem even tho i dont want stem.. teachers even doubted me bcs of my line of 7 in my grade in math and i cant prove them also because im really bad at math..
We're on the same boat. Planning to take Stem although not very proficient in Mathematics, but the desire to be part of Medical field is what pushing me to take it no matter what.

Incoming grade 11 this school year. I enrolled last week as a STEM student and our classes is on August 22 na. But right now, napapaisip ako kung tama ba pinili ko. Honestly, I prefer HUMMS but I really don't know kung anong kukuhain kong kurso after non. Hays, wish me luck nalang talaga. 🥲

@su46c.1 hii same tayo!! kinakabahan ako kasi halos ni isa wala akong kakilala tapos private school pa. but after watching the video, parang humupa bigla yung kaba ko hahahha. but aug. 16 na yung start ng school namin so hindi ko alam kung exited ba ako o kakabahan parin. 😅
about sa under pressure, pag nag start working na kayo projects are time bound. pero sa real world if you need more time pwede naman kausapin ang mga stakeholders and you will be working in a team.

@@user-te6bm4gg9m Kinaya naman din. Still stutters and my social anxiety definitely worsened over time due to unavoidable homeroom problems such as pag-aaway ng mga kaklase and all. Can't say that it's worth it but this was just my experience and the same might not happen to you. Good luck po.

I really want to take this strand dahil gusto ko mag Med talaga but i end up sa pagiging Humss student, before mag start ang school year sa July. I was really prepared to be come a Stem student, gusto ko talaga maging stem student kaya nag suggests yung teacher na mag palit ako ng strand after ng 1st quarter nmn

Does each section have a randomized selection of students in grade 11? or does the section base on performance? to illustrate, do the best students get to be selected in the same section (1st section)? then the 2nd best group on 2nd? then vice versa :DD just have been really curious

Tips lang po kung tamad kayo mag solve ng math. Sinasabi ko pong wag na kayo mag stem kung Ganon kayo, ma de-depress lang kayo.😭

Hello po, yes! all strands have their own pros & cons naman but as for STEM kasi I noticed na yung subjects super generalized so very applicable and flexible rin siya and madalas ayon lumalabas sa entrance exams :) and since for arts, measurements and math is also included, I guess it's better to take STEM since mas general math namin before or at least closer to archi & engineering type of math

Hi, good day!! just wanna ask something, if i take stem as my strand is it really hard? Math isn't my favorite subject and i do doubt myself. I'm still undecided whether i take stem or not, some rumours said it's not really necessary to take stem kahit mag mmed ka kasi everything you've learned will be back to zero sa college, is it true po ba?
Hello, first point, I don't think it is REALLY hard, though it's not easy for sure. Second point, NO, it will definitely help especially if you're planning to take med sa college, cos I personally experienced it and my friend also. In STEM, we studied about the basics and advanced ideas of chemistry, biology, etc. for high schools and those will be the base kasi for med courses so definitely makakatulong. As for calculus naman, maths aren't rlly SO MUCH applicable hehe but sciences are!!!! 100%!! I have a friend who took HUMSS during shs, one took dmd same as me, then other one med tech yata, both of them asked me to help them yung isa tutor for chemistry class niya, yung isa naman sa activities in relation to bio!!! though related strand and course isn't required, it definitely helps kasi sa college, also some profs will expect na u learned it na from your hs :) I hope this helps!

YESSS definitely! although syempre, 'di naman siya lang yung basehan but most questions are STEM-related since yung CETS diba Math, Sci, Eng, and Fil :) so in a way, may knowledge ka na rin due to STEM

Hello! thank you hehe hmm if you want to do advance reading, I think you can search for different articles online (just make sure na they're credible sources) or you can also watch different youtube videos about lessons on the strand you're planning to take. In the future naman, especially if it's aligned with your strand or course, lalabas yun :) Good luck!

Hello! I'm sorry but I'm not really familiar whether there is or there isn't because I attended the same school for both jhs and shs and it felt smooth, no exams or whatever. So I'm not rlly sure about it, it felt like I was simply about to enroll for a normal school year.

Hello, uhm I think you just have to really prepare yourself for the overall process. Just like any other strands, STEM has some difficult parts din pero if you accept it naman, you can make it! ♡ make sure to listen to your teachers kasi super strong foundation ng subjects ng STEM (it depends sa course mo but usually 'di talaga nawawala STEM-related classes) so just do your best! be ready!

Hello! oo naman hehe :) it would also be great din siguro if you're planning to teach a subject na related sa STEM para at least may background ka na. I know someone who took ABM then nag-take ng Educ (english major) ngayong college hehe

Hi! I think ABM or STEM would fit you, but more on ABM! ABM focuses on businesses and how to grow, so I think if you're planning to work on producing and creating your own business, I think ABM would really help you become an organizer, a planner, and a good business person in the industry. As for STEM, since you mentioned crop production, maybe lang you would be interested in Biology or stuff. But, I think it's leaning more towards ABM :)

Hello! hmmm medyo malayo sa art although I remembered nung grade 12 ako, we had an art subject (contemporary arts)~ any strand will be fine naman pero, I think stem is more general in terms sa usual na lumalabas sa mga CET so good luck! :)

Try to jot down as much as possible pero makinig ka hehehe and then yung mga kulang-kulang mo I think they give u ppts and pdfs naman after the lecture? I did some studying vlogs ngayong college ako, I think you can see how I write notes there, though now, I mostly type my notes. Good luck!

Hello, maraming subject yung STEM na same sa ibang strand so general yun but there are specialized subjects like Chemistry, Calculus, Physics, etc.! nung shs po ako ganon po, yung iba po nabago but yung iba naman po same lang but different branch :)
done on my 1st sem as grd 11 and its bearable pa naman but struggling in genmath and precal haaha idk nlng sa 2nd sem i hope i still pass

Hello! as far as I know based on quarterly grades also, bc technically you have to have that din for the final grade to be 85 and above! hehe

In my opinion, the best research topics (based from my experiences) are the ones heavily related to the environment, we did one for our capstone project related to reducing carbon footprints made by transportation vehicles!

Hi po ate! Ask ko lng po kung kailangan pa ba ng maraming notebook, yung isang notebook sa isang subject? Hehe
Hmm I think it depends sa teachers niyo, sa amin dati kasi pinapa-submit nila per notebook para sa clearance lmao, pero if 'di naman ganon sa inyo, I think you can have less notebook. Or for example, one Math notebook pero sakop non Gen Math and Calculus na, just make sure to label them well and organize them so you won't get confused, for sure makaka-help yan sa notes kasi :)

Hi! all strands naman you need to focus talaga to have a good grade, pero focus talaga is one of the biggest tips I can give :) study well!

Hello po! sorry I forgot the exact list of the classes I took since almost 3 -4 years ago na sila huhu, but here are the ones I remembered: Fil, Communication class, Gen Math, Gen Chem 1 and 2, Precal 1 and 2, Biology, Research, etc.

Hello, I'm not sure about public schools since I've never attended one pero if both naman follows DepEd's curriculum (which I think both naman yes), probably same lang 😌
I need helpo po, Hindi ko po ata mamimeet ang grade requirement para makapag STEM, math sub po problem ko, 1st quarter 75 lang po math ko, 2nd quarter 78 po, then sa third quarter po is 80+, sa ibang subject po wala naman problem, halos matataas grades ko po sa iba, math lang po talaga problem, tanong ko lang po makakakuha ba ako ng course na engineering kung hindi po ako makakapag STEM sa SHS, please pasagot po :((
Hello! wait, as far as I know walang needed grade naman to enter STEM (or at least nung time ko lang 'yon? 🤔) like may mga kilala rin ako similar grades sayo pero STEM sila. For engineering naman yes! for sure! hindi ka pipigilan ng strand mo para makapasok sa dream course mo, however, syempre in shs, mas hahasain ka sa strand na related yung course mo since kapag ibang strand ka, iba rin inaaral usually. To give you an example, if you take ABM may mga math but more related sa accounting since dun sila focused na strand, then as for me, sa STEM mga physics & calculus meron kami which are some subjects na wala sa other strands naman. But if you can start sa college naman no problem rin, I know some people who took a course na very layo from their strand, you can do that too. Pero super helpful din kasi ng lessons and experience sa shs, especially kapag related sa course na gusto mong kuhain since they will serve as background knowledge as well. I hope this helps!

Hello! it's okay kahit 'di ka matalino sa Math no :) Math isn't the best subj for me rin pero because of STEM I learned to love and appreciate it. Try mo! there's no entrance exam needed, in my experience at least, because 'di ako lumipat ng school :)

hello! it depends on school po 'yan, kung yung school niyo po ay hindi kailangan ng requirements about sa stem pwede ka mag take non. pero kung nakabase sila sa grades dika po pasok.

Hello po. I want to pursue po yung Nurse/Veterinarian po pero nasa stem po siya. Ask ko lang po if ever may general average na needed or some entrance exams po pag mag e-stem po? 83 lang general average ko po kasi eh. :(
sabi po ng deped dapat hindi daw po bababa sa 85 yung final grades niyo sa math & science, and depends po sa school kung merong entrance exam. i think kapag qualified yung grades niyo para sa stem ay hindi na kayo mag entrace exam.

Hello, yes!! I also had grades similar to that, I got in anyway. Although, I'm not sure if that varies depending on which school you're planning to attend, but the one where I went, pwede naman :)

Personally, for shs, if you're planning to take it sa same school kung saan ka nag-jhs, no exams na (based on my personal experience)

Yes! a must! hehe I didn't mention it because our school provided it for us back then :) but as college student, having your own lab gown is a must
