Still have a lot of love for this game. It’s got a real charm to it and still holds up today, and all the things that are ‘wrong’ with it are just due to the time it was created. Honestly with all of the reports of Rockstar employee morale being low due to the pressure of deadlines and overwhelming fan demand, putting a Bully project on the table could be beneficial for them. Don’t get me wrong, by no means is the fan base small, but it’s not as big or as heavy handed as the GTA and RDR franchises. Just creating a fun game that values the old style of Rockstar’s tongue and cheek social commentary and lack of fucks to give when it comes to putting stuff in a video game over stunning visuals or an iceberg deep story, could be a breathe of fresh air for the developers. And when the developers have fun, they create phenomenal games where the players can have fun.
It wouldn’t generate billions, but the budget wouldn’t require hundreds of millions, so it wouldn’t need a massive sell out for a profit. I also think it’d do a lot for Rockstar’s image after years of dropping the ball with remasters, RDO, lack of DLC’s and radio silence in the face of fan complaints. Actually listening to a request that’s been ignored for years.
Financially, they don’t need to make a sequel. But I think the overall benefits from making a sequel, make the possibility of it higher than most people think.

I mean, you never know, it’s not like rockstar forgot about the game There are references to bully in GTA and red dead two. There’s definitely still hope for it just obviously not before GTA6 plus red dead came out in 2010 and that game got a sequel 8 years after the first

I think it at least deserves a remaster. Update the graphics in the newer engines. Pump more content into it with side quests and more town to explore and do. Just put the old team on it pump a half descent budget into it and be done.

I look at this in the same way I see the Piers Brosnon 007 era.
Fun at the time, but very much of its time. In the wake of the grittier Daniel Craig films, I can't ever see them reverting to the zany gadgets and cheesy bombast of the latter Brosnon movies.
Likewise, Rockstar returning to the world of Bully after making RDR2 and the upcoming GTA would be quite a culture shock unless they dramatically revamped the tone of that universe.
I don't mean this to sound as wanky as it will likely sound, but as much fun as Bully was, Rockstar Games have grown up a lot since then, and perhaps it's better left in the past.
That said, I'll play anything they release. They've earned lifelong loyalty from me.

Bully absolutely deserves a sequel. It was an excellent fun romp. But as you said in your video. With RDR and GTA I really don't see them putting in the effort....sadly.

At this point I think rockstar has stopped making smaller franchises and has turned entirely to red dead and GTA

Maybe to expand upon the bully foundation, go to different countries with notorious bullying cultures (ex. Japan) and its implications/satire

Man, Rockstar really poisoned themselves with greed. They would rather make a real casino that good games anymore.

Fantastic game, loved the chops off it as a kid- my only gripe is how empty the Endless Summer is. Or at least, on the PS2 version- I've never really checked the other versions of it.

Well of COURSE it deserves one, it was a great piece of art! The ACTUAL question is whether or not it NEEDS one.
Given it's running streak of commentary, I say hell yes! Does Jimmy or anyone from this school/town age into roles in something like GTA? Both worlds seem equally miserable and corrupt, both feature crooked adults in undeserved power, you have money and politics behind the scenes of both-- so where does this go, and how does it connect?
