I received my G1 and it had two squeaky keys that only make an unusual noise when touched softly. Unfortunately that's when such a noise is most distracting. Somehow the second squeaky key has since stopped making noise but one remains. I have 30 days remaining to decide if I want to return it to GC. Will probably compare it to the ydp 181 before deciding.
6 month update. No other keys have been affected by this "issue". The couple that do make the noise have not gotten any worse. I honestly have not had the time to pursue this with Korg though I'm sure it would require a key bed replacement which could potentially end up worse.
Anthony Parenti I appreciate the update but I really would like to get in touch with you. There are concerns I have about this piano that I can't figure out online. And its pretty rare to find anyone who owns this one.
This happens on all the RH3 keybeds. It happened on my Kronos 88. I had to open the keybed, take out the affected key, clean it, regrese it, and it was fixed.
lol I wish I didn't see this. I was so determined to buy the c1 air but now I'm a little bit worried. Do you just happen to have a faulty product or is this a common problem?
jean liseron Hi there, this problem is likely to just be the owner of this piano receiving a faulty product as problems with key mechanisms could occur in any other digital piano. I really love and trust korg's products and their spectacular piano sounds so I will hopefully try and get to see a korg C1 air in person so I could make decision weather to buy it or not.
I've just checked on the price difference between the two and as you said they cost relatively the same amount. Thank you for mentioning it, though there isn't that much difference between them i terms of their specifications as well. the only main differences are that the speakers are a better on the G1 and it has 3 extra sounds on top of the C1 (one of them is Austrian Concert Piano so it can be a huge deal for some people) so I'll definitely get the G1 air as having something that you may not need is better than needing something but not having it.
Seems to be a relatively common problem with their RH3 keybed. Mine only happens on Keys E and A above middle C. May be something inherent to the design of the weighted keybed as it gets lighter going up the range.
Had my Korg G1 Air since October. Never really had this issue. Some keys "click" differently than others but just the normal clicks that ALL weighted keyboards do. In fact I find that the RH3 keybed is more silent than so many weighted keybeds out there. How long after the G1 Air was bought before these key noises started?
Have the same issue with a Korg D1 . It comes and goes. First was C3 , now is G2. Does not affect performance of the keys or have any impact on the sound but is very distracting and annoying.
Hello, I bought a G1 B air (the newer model of Korg) and has the same problem with the middle F from the start.. It has a great sound though. Does anyone else has the same issue with G1 B air?
I was thinking about getting the G1. I have a Korg B1 and I have a few keys that do this as well. I don't know if you have a facebook or something. I'd appreciate being able to talk to someone who owns the G1.
You may have good luck and be just fine! Also, this noise seems to only occur when striking the key a particular way, such as the first note in an arpeggio.
Have you approached Korg about it or a service center yet? I'm going to reach out to my local service center within the week. Out of the box mine didnt make this noise until about a week after playing.
Hello, the G1 Air produce any kind of "hiss" noise on speakers or on the audio output (line out and headphones)?

I own this one just bought it several days ago and I have the same problem. If you have any useful information about this issue please let me know

Mr Ghost SA If it helps ease your worry I recently got the C1 Air and my keys don't have this problem
I've had no problem w/mine. And it really is a dream come true. Whether you have "real" chops or not, it is expressive and responsive.
I've just bought a black korg g1 air with the same problem. Could you tell me what colour is yours? Thank you in advance!

Pedram Armano by any chance have you gotten studio headphones, or any headphones to work with the line out? No sound will play through the line out.
There's 2 headphone jacks underneath the lower front left.
What colour is yours? I've just bought a black one and it had the problem form the very beginning

Still have it 😂😂😂
I have the same with a grandstage 73...
Steven De Roo How old is the piano? Is it every key or just a select few? Its really annoying. I hope there is a fix for this.
Half a year... 3 keys or so...
don't know yet... Otherwise it's a marvelous instrument; the sounds are very good
