Actually, you can get blue tooth in both the sport and the touring model. If you want navigation, just buy one. Otherwise, this car has every option you could want for such a very low price outside of power/heated seats. Anyway, like he said. The standard shift in this car really is amazing and will give any Honda a run for the money (the transmission that is). What makes it especially fun is it's such a short throw shifter that is super smooth. You really could not ask for a better manual transmission experience especially in this category. In fact, the more you drive it, the more addictive the fun to drive factor Mazda built into it becomes! This car really does stand out from all the other competitors in this segment. I own the 2013 model and will drive this thing till the wheels fall off. Which should be a long time down the road. Lastly, the sound system really kicks the crap out of the wimpy system Honda gives you in the Fit. There really is some decent bass and volume in this car!
I just bought this 2012 Sport for $2000 usd !!! No lie bro!! I love this car so much and it has been just a fun day of zooming to and from work and around town in this "zoom zoom" hatchback!! It is an automatic BUT I feel better that my wife can drive this car if she needed to (she has the SUV) , I can drive a manual and she can not. I can not wait to take this car out to the coast and down the open beach side roads this Summer!
was looking for a compact so as to not drive my truck around other than for work,, looked at many and for some reason ignored the mazda2 but then seen one at a very low price so went for a look and took it out for a drive.. wow i was impressed with it and at 6'2 could not believe hhow comfortable it was, car is 7 years old with 83,000 kms and runs like a brand new car, one owner car and who ever had it before took great care of it.. paid $4,700 CAD for it and was telling my wife during the test drive.. this is to good to be true. something has to be wrong but just got very lucky and will enjoy it for years to come and save a bunch on fuel.. very very comfortable and lots of fun to drive compared to all the other compacts i tested
I own a 5 speed Mazda 2 Touring, and Jeff is so right, the car is loads of fun to drive, the shifter is Miata smooth, and I am getting 38.2 mpg average in mixed driving.
im driving mazda 2 in dubai. this is a good car coz very economical and smooth to drive however since it is light it wiggles a bit when another car passes by real fast or when the wind is strong.
want one. and want the manual. But the agonizing urban traffic makes shifting so much work. I cud shift thousands of times just creeping up to a toll bridge. is the auto still fun....at all?
Thanks much for the info. I'm resigned to the auto trans due intense urban traffic in sf bay area. I'm still amazed that there are so few on the road here. They should offer a sunroof like Fiesta, or Sonic. maybe I'll find one aftermarket?
Yes. I'm getting such a great deal on the Mazda2 I actually thought of doing this. I'm trading an 05Focus SES with a sunroof, and will miss that feature a lot. But the overall Mazda2 is a more to my liking than the fiesta or sonic. The focus has been great, but getting way old. Wish Ford would make better deals on Fiestas.
an aftermarket sunroof? that would cost hundreds of dollars. i went with the 2 because it offered eerything i needed for a low price. if your looking for something with a little more get up and goodies inside id reccomened the fiesta with sync
ive drivin both during a test drive, but i went with the auto since i live in a big city (philadelphia) and driving stick here is a pain in the ass. it obviously isnt as fun as an auto but it still gets the job done especially with the way it handles. and the gas milage is around 30 with almost all city driving. id still recommend going for the auto
They didnt bring the new model to the states. This is great car. The newer model is much improved. I belived they would of benn better off importin the sedan here in the states. Gas prices are down so interest in subcompact are down.
The Honda Fit looks great with those magic seats. You can fit a bicycle in there if you don't get the centre console / armrest upgrade -- without taking off any wheels. That's pretty awesome. And it would be possible to even move furniture with a subcompact car! Fucking awesome! But the Mazda2 is lighter, feels as good to drive or better, isn't as tall and doesn't feel like a minivan like the fit. Financing is better at mazda as well. Honda sucks for that.
Um my Mitsubishi Mirage being a 21 year old car bigger engine gets almost 30 in town and almost 40 on the highway..and it’s a automatic, true it’s a cheaper car to buy with no “amazing” packages to add but kind of a waste to buy.
Hyundais are great. I have never had a problem with the exception of an oil pump failure but they replaced the motor within a week for absolutely free. It didn't cost me a dime.
wtf you mean, "you cannot get the auto transmission". I like this car and want it for my first....i dont want a manual for my first car. is the auto really that bad? are you saying you cant have fun driving and automatic transmission?
I have one myself. My suggestion is that go for the manual if you know how to drive one. After two or three months, you'll get use to it and enjoy tons of fun from this little thing. The auto transmission is not bad but just boring as other 4 speed transmissions used on small cars.
Sorry to tell you but the data suggests the 2013 mazda2 is much more reliable than the 2013 toyota yaris. It's the main reason i chose the mazda2 over the toyota yaris. toyota may have more people chanting its reliability, but when comparing two fairly reliable brands, you need to be specific about the model and year. Reliability changes all the time and they gather stats every year on failure rates. So maybe a few years ago the yaris was more reliable but right now its not.
Cuz your civic weighs 500lbs less due to: it has no door beams, crumple zones, only 2 air bags and no power...if that is what youre in to...more power to ya...but its mighty boring and unsafe to me. Ive sat in both the honda and the mazda 2..mazda has equivalent room and it has a way better handling feel, and a miata like shifter.
This car looks great but has this terribly cheap feel to it. The materials rattle, the car makes a lot of odd unidentifiable noises, and it's just a generally lag filled drive. I definitely don't regret my choice of buying the Yaris.
"Bigger is better." That depends on what you are talking about. That statement is not true for everything. If you are looking for a telescopes to look at the stars then "bigger is better." When it comes to cars, it always comes down to personal preference.
go with a honda if your boring? Mazda must paid this guy top dollars to say something that crazy lol other then the rx7 and maybe the rz8 every other Mazda was and is terrible.
It’s 2024 , and I still have my Mazda 2 model 2012 , with 170,000+ KM , work like a charm , It's reliable, small and beautiful!!
6/10/18 ✔ I love my Mazda 2 2012. Bought new. 57K miles today. I have automatic and zero issues. Thank you
I love my 2011 Mazda 2, basic as hell with the manual transmission, but I love to drive it!

Are you still driving it? :P
I just bought this 2012 Sport for $2000 usd !!! No lie bro!! I love this car so much and it has been just a fun day of zooming to and from work and around town in this "zoom zoom" hatchback!! How many miles, I keep seeing people selling the ones with around 100k miles for like $5000 to $7000. I'll budge at $3500 or less
This car is amazingly fun. I also get about 40mpg on the highway
was looking for a compact so as to not drive my truck around other than for work,, looked at many and for some reason ignored the mazda2 but then seen one at a very low price so went for a look and took it out for a drive.. wow i was impressed with it and at 6'2 could not believe hhow comfortable it was, car is 7 years old with 83,000 kms and runs like a brand new car, one owner car and who ever had it before took great care of it.. paid $4,700 CAD for it and was telling my wife during the test drive.. this is to good to be true. something has to be wrong but just got very lucky and will enjoy it for years to come and save a bunch on fuel.. very very comfortable and lots of fun to drive compared to all the other compacts i tested
Amazing handling in the Mazda 2!
I test drove a 2013 model today. Loved it.
did u buy it?
Love the unique green color!!!!!
I like how most of the Mazdas from 2012 have smiles.
Wow, the cabin interior looks really good!
The seat is cushioned?! How do they do it!?
Made me lol
mazda is not an automobile, it is a way of life.
Just got one 2021, it a 2012 , automatic ☹️ but everything else is on point, 115 k miles and it just does the job. Zooom zoom lil guy
Man I wish mine had a arm rest. I have a 2012 Mazda 2
I have Mazda 2 model 2012 , bought it last year, and I still wish for the arm rest, 😢
Honestly I really do like it... at first I wanted a Honda fit... But the more I see the Mazda 2 the more I like it xD
I own a 5 speed Mazda 2 Touring, and Jeff is so right, the car is loads of fun to drive, the shifter is Miata smooth, and I am getting 38.2 mpg average in mixed driving.
120,000km on a 2011 5 speed model and consistently get 6L/100 (47 mpg). I don't thrash it but I don't baby it either when warmed up.
The mazda 2 is a lot smaller inside than the nissan versa note and honda fit, yet it gets worst gas mileage??
Riley R fyi: Worse, not "worst".
im driving mazda 2 in dubai. this is a good car coz very economical and smooth to drive however since it is light it wiggles a bit when another car passes by real fast or when the wind is strong.
Nice small car..5 years ago don't have problems
I really love the exterior of the Mazda, but I also love the interior of the Ford Fiesta. I'm so torn!
1st world problems
want one.
and want the manual.

The 2 rocks! So much better than a boring Honda.
Yes. I'm getting such a great deal on the Mazda2 I actually thought of doing this.

great. I love my zoom zoom Mazda 2 its great on petrol...
I love driving and that's why I'm getting this one soon isA.
P.S. People, would you plz stop buying Yarises PLEASE!
Why would anyone consider a Honda? Love this green Mazda 😁
I thought it was all true and hope Boston will offer subcompact taxi rides for rock bottom prices
I bought this one and it wont play songs from the usb port. It keeps saying check usb error. Anyone know how to fix it?
an aftermarket sunroof? that would cost hundreds of dollars. i went with the 2 because it offered eerything i needed for a low price. if your looking for something with a little more get up and goodies inside id reccomened the fiesta with sync

And how about the crisp, sure shifter...that thing is amazing in such an inexpensive car!

3:45 Hyundai Accent, ¡Mes con Gold In You!
I went with the chevy sonic because turbo and still just as good gas mileage
Yes, people forget about this fun to drive, sporty car.
+CeeStyleDj yes! 1.4 ecotech turbo, 6 speed manual and little more room than the Mazda. I'm averaging 40mpg on hwy
RAY ROMANO drives a madza?
Um my Mitsubishi Mirage being a 21 year old car bigger engine gets almost 30 in town and almost 40 on the highway..and it’s a automatic, true it’s a cheaper car to buy with no “amazing” packages to add but kind of a waste to buy.
Bro, you wanna knee and head space at the back - buy a limo. This is compact car for Christ sake!. Not designed for long comfortable passenger voyage.
Marsda???? Is Mazda! 🤣 I had this car manual blue but I had an accident in 2018. Just got a Hyundai. Looking forward to driving again 😀
Hyundais are great. I have never had a problem with the exception of an oil pump failure but they replaced the motor within a week for absolutely free. It didn't cost me a dime.

When a tranny shifts THIS nice? You go for the automatic and lose a lot of enjoyment.

how about a 5 speed automatic with paddle shifters . shifting where I live gets old fast..
Go with the honda if you're boring. Hmmm this guy confused the honda with the Miata
But your Honda is a boring lifeless auto appliance...Mazdas are FUN!
Interesting way to pronounce Mazda....
"Muuzda"
Cuz your civic weighs 500lbs less due to: it has no door beams, crumple zones, only 2 air bags and no power...if that is what youre in to...more power to ya...but its mighty boring and unsafe to me. Big, happy, i love life face :D
so true. i will never get a toyota or honda just because they're flooding the car market
this car is not in par with honda civic. if you want to compare it Civic and the mazda 3.
This car looks great but has this terribly cheap feel to it.
The materials rattle, the car makes a lot of odd unidentifiable noises, and it's just a generally lag filled drive.
I definitely don't regret my choice of buying the Yaris.
"You go with a Honda if you're boring"
2012 Honda Fit - 117 HP
2012 Mazda 2 - 101 HP
fun driving is based on more than just horsepower....
looks best in black. the black subdues that dumb grin.
"Bigger is better." That depends on what you are talking about. That statement is not true for everything. If you are looking for a telescopes to look at the stars then "bigger is better." When it comes to cars, it always comes down to personal preference.
really bugs me how american call it the MARZDA. its mAzda! MAZDA!!!!!
Or a Suzuki Swift ...lol
Man I wish we got those later shifts in the States
But dude ur tall, most ppl would be fine in the back seats
lol honda if you are boring!!
fun as a stick* oops
Total cash
lol, you go with the honda if you're.....boring
Wannabe Toyota Yaris
go with a honda if your boring? Mazda must paid this guy top dollars to say something that crazy lol other then the rx7 and maybe the rz8 every other Mazda was and is terrible.

Just got one 2021, its a 2012 , automatic ☹️ but everything else is on point, 115 k miles and it just does the job. Zooom zoom lil guy
