I think we were near Parton, staying in a tarpapered shack on the beach. The railway ran directly behind the huts. Water for every hut from a single standpipe. We drove through a tunnel under the railway line on to the beach. Ring any bells?

The bridge is at Portinscale, over the river Derwent. A stones throw from Keswick.
I didnt think the derwent was at portinscales I thought that was the greta ,I thought the derwent came out at the bottom end if bassenthwaite lake ?
