If you find the time I would like to hear about what interests you. I spend most of my time listening to people talk about the weather or the chicken and chips they had for dinner. Last week I overheard three colleagues discussing the colour purple. The conversation went something like this “do you like purple?” “ yes, I like purple” “hey Scott, do you like purple” “yeah, I don’t mind purple “ Diana, I wanted to die. Please tell me you understand my misery!

Very interesting observations. As an INTP (older in age) I would add that at this age when training in schools is about to end. Or it's over now, time to start unlearning. The incredible amount of information we have assimilated as truth is simply a worthless lie. Not only is history full of lies, but also in areas like physics and especially astronomy.
In our considerations we rely on known "facts" or "phenomena", but when we look at them, the reality is quite different. Can one come to the truth by relying on false information? It is quite "painful" to discover that the tremendous amount of information (which we spent a lot of time acquiring) is worthless and even leads us astray. It's time to stop thinking that the truth always prevails, that it is enough to show the truth and it will automatically be propagated. Disappointment after graduation would not exist if absolutely all aspects related to education were properly shown. Ask yourself: why is there censorship? The truth is not afraid of investigation, but lies need protection.

I'm 33 and still questioning what to do with my life, gladly recently I realized what I don't want to do for sure - I call it good progres. My advice for 20s: try a lot of stuff, it is hard to figure out/design Your life in head only - experimentation is a must. You will realize what you like and what you don't. Often think what makes you happy and fulfilled. Don't fall into what is socially expected from you if it isn't parallel with your way. Beware of lazy limbo. I was there for four years - wasted time. If you won't take any active actions, time will pass and so your life. Nothing will change on its own.

I like math, music, coding, science, languages… nonetheless I procrastinate in doing all that and just keep myself busy with sth that isn’t going to help me in future.

@@NickTheHunter You do realize the types vary. Not every INTP presents as the stereotype. I'm more artsy than scientific, though I can understand the principles and logic that govern most scientific endeavors, I don't particularly excel there so I don't like it. Now, languages? My babies. In some ways, I view languages like mathematics. Once you understand the logic and principles that govern any given language, it becomes easy to learn.
There are INTPs that are more consumed by questions relating to the human condition. They becomes the psychiatrists and psychologists of the world. Point I'm trying to make is, just because you have a certain personality type doesn't mean you will fit the mold exactly. Different cognitive functions within the type can express themselves in different ways and create interesting individuals. So yes, there are INTPs that aren't all that interested in physics and math.

The whole idea of having a crisis in your 20s as opposed to a typical mid-life crisis was a bit of an eye-opener for me. 21 right now and in the past year I've bought an Audi, started playing ice hockey, bought a guitar, and tried learning languages etc. I chuckled thinking of myself being like a typical 40-something local salesman in a similar position aha. I can relate so much with ur video😭. Im not strictly INTP, since im 50/50 on INTP & ENTP, meaning my Ti and Ne are balanced. I really appreciate ur advices! I'm 25, and I began exploring so many new things since 20ish. I do feel that I figured a lot out compared to 5 years ago. Along the way, people find me ridiculous about trying 'pointless' stuffs in their opinion. Its hard, but i learned so much about who I am. I feel deeply inspired by your experience. Thank you❤️

    • @MentalHealth-bq5kr
      @MentalHealth-bq5kr Год назад +2

Yeah, but you would have one type ultimately, both Ti & Ne are strong for Intp & Entp, even if they're balanced there would be one type only.
Like I'm Intp with matching preferences with Entp & a lot of Intp stereotypes don't match well with me & they're not supposed to either.
Plus there are four sides of mind in this personality theory:-
      - Intp (Ego) has Entj (Unconscious) & Esfj (Subconscious)
      - Entp (Ego) has Intj (Unconscious) & Isfj (Subconscious)
      - If you're heavily Introverting or extroverting can give you a hint at which side of the mind you're more using more. Both of these types tend to do it. A lot of us tend to be Ambiverts irrespective of I or E label.

But, I'm actually majoring in maths lecture and absolutely loving it. I think teaching fits so much INTPs standards bc there's so much about the psychology of teaching, learning, how people learn certain topics, how the topic you're studying is essential to everything and etc... But yeah, I'm just afraid everything is going down some point, I don't want to be the richest person in the world because that's just so stupid, but I want to be independent and achieve my own things, yk.
Thank you for the video, just watched in the right moment. Perfect timing 😎

Eeeekkk and uggghhh my early 20’s !!!!! That was horrible and horrific …. College, work and just missing loads of things yet being out and about…. Working night shifts, crewing music gigs and just not fitting… exploring some darker sides of my character (relationship intimacy related)
I had a head full of projects and ideas and no money to deal…
Finally found some good jobs whilst I got my head together and came out of my teenage shell…
Problem is I’m in my mid 40’s and following COVID I’ve lost another good relationship (my fault for the most part as I’m a lovable idiot)
    But I still don’t get life…

Yeah, I totally relate (again) with many of these feels.
In undergrad, I went through what I considered a "quarter-life crisis," lol.
For some circumstances in life, I've found it helpful to adopt an underlying concept of Kyūdō, which is a form of Japanese archery:
    ruclips.net/video/G0cq5_uR89Y/видео.html
In Kyūdō, instead of the archers focusing on their ultimate goal of hitting the target, they just focus on form and on going through the process.
So, the idea is, if they use the correct stance, precise movements, etc., they will naturally just hit the bullseye without even really "trying" to hit it.

It can be tough for us INTPs, we have to be prepared for a marathon and not a sprint, and find our own way. It helps to keep the focus on yourself, rather than career or relationships. Doesn’t mean you can’t have those things, but they’re not the point. Keep learning and putting yourself in different (sometimes uncomfortable) situations. I see my place in the world much clearer at 39, even though my life has been a failure in the conventional sense. I’ve changed jobs every 4 years or so, and experienced a wonderful (albeit brief) marriage. I sense my most valuable years still lie ahead of me. Thanks for your videos Diana, much appreciated.

"You can fail at a compromise, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love" - Jim Carrey. Such a simple yet perspective widening outlook, the moment I heard it I thought Fuck It, I'm doing what I want and I'm living my life on my terms. This was the change of character I needed having, admittedly, been a 'yes man' for all of my 19 years here. It only takes one moment.

Just wanted to mention that being INTP does not prevent you from waking up one day and getting a divorce, 20 years old girlfriend, and ridiculously expensive convertible car. It just adds a layer of self reflection so you will fully realise how ridiculous is all that while slowly drifting towards death.
On a brighter side i completely agree with idea that you need to try different jobs or study fields. Many experiences unfortunately need to be lived thru and theoretical understanding of them does not give full picture. And your interests may change with time, so do not anticipate that once chosen profession will last you forever.
Also, wanted to mention that Academia experience is not great, but some jobs are worse, so do not write it off.
Traveling plan to far places while being young is good with just one small caveat. Can you afford it while being 20? I could afford traveling on suburb/cargo trains (without paying for tickets and running away from train station cops) around Central Asia. But that was a limit of my budget. However, i will definitely would not do it now, and If you want an adventure 20s is a good time for that. You will become much pickier with age.

"A simple advice to all INTPs... Theres profound logical reason why your life is challengingly ironic (always being in the wrong on the right time), far more often than you like...
Tho to put it as simple as i can.... its shakedown that will rattle the innermost core of your being and able to endure it without destroying yourself but able to use it to your advantage! This is how far i will go, folks... i dont think i need to hold your hands and give you a tour to whats ahead coz i will only rob you from doing your original work.
So whatever your life situation is? Do what you must do to meet your necessities and just dont cheat (be dishonest, take advantage on others demise and be fair always or take the losing end of the bargain instead taking the opposite) your way thru life no matter what life throws at you... if not? Your just wasting your time... touring round and round on a merry go round to no end!
Great things happens to those who wait... So whatever happens? it will not be all for naught and you will find that out soon enough! So like it or not, this is what INTP is built for... (not for you show and tell) if INTP cant pass it? Well, no one can... So walk carefully coz you no longer a fool rushing in... the end : )
Take it or leave it.... its all up do you! Thats all you need to know!
And one last thing... dont sell yourself to avoid whats in front you or everything will be for nothingt! Theres no better time to practice the art of waiting when nothing works for you... so dont waste it! ; )
Have a good one everyone... so stay, calm dont rush and just be precise as possible! Bye : )"

I feel like I have a fun side but I experience it on the inside a lot of times perhaps. In my experience, INTPs can have a charm to them. (not to be confused with charisma). INTPs are supposed to butt heads with our own kind. I definitely do my fair share of sparring with my one INTP friend. Do you find this as well or can we all just get along and sing kumbaya?

I'm willing to suggest perhaps it could be a false dichotomy.
And that the time is now to move towards what is important.
You're right it's important to recognize what's real.
And by extent, as you've gifted me, defining what is important.
For the longest time I *thought I was alone; mostly just playing video games, watching cartoons, exploring and *listening to videos.
I think partly my desire to learn moved me to listen, though I'll admit of course I don't recollect everything.
But I do think the world needs more hope.
Indeed the doomerism drives me nuts.
But the truth is if it wasn't for shows like Idea Channel, Philosophy Tube, Extra Credits, PlayFrame, Idea Project. I would not have gone down this path.
Notably yeah there is a lot of hurt.
But there were a lot of good things too.
For which I do feel it is time for me to move forward with my life.
But I shouldn't neglect the people who made it special.
And there can be a balance with that, not in the money sense of exchange for I'll make you do this or that and vice versa.
But I think radical honesty; radical honesty does not mean hurting one another, radical honesty is being able to see one another.
      And respond in kind, truly.
Through facilitating trust for one another.
For which that only takes giving someone a new opportunity, with a gift.
Than a false gift that robs a person of their agency, consideration, or hope for change to reality-etc. be it with themselves and or others.
But indeed, that consideration must be made consciously and continually.
Where for me I'll lean more becoming myself as an artist while trusting my family can be okay so long as I take the time to actually communicate with them instead of communicating with myself over them. For that's where a lot of our trauma stemmed from.
My advice (partly saying to myself) is to learn to recognize and define yourself with empathy as well especially and empathy with others than either neglecting that for them or subsuming to them.
And maybe this should apply for any kind of relationship. Be it big or small.
For our Traits define us, yet we should take responsibility to defining our own Traits.
      With thinking with others.
      Building community that facilitates understanding.
Grow exploration for what could be with regard to what's ethical.
Sometimes take breaks to listen and learn, even if it may feel like you're not learning, for we're all are always learning.
Jump out to new opportunities to learn the language of another person; for we all contain multitudes.
But I think something with my own family is considering they're just as human as I am too. Like you, and you, and me.
And perhaps a lot of my own insight comes from many of the memories we've shared.
Where Truth is a choice, so long as there's opportunity.
I'm starting to ramble again... but I think what I really want to express for which like this video and I hope with this comment, is take any opportunity to give another person an opportunity if you're certain it'll be right for them so that they may be able to do the same for someone else.
Because everyone disserves the opportunity to learn and understand what is, what happened, and where things are going.
And by extent responding to that to help *everyone succeed.
Because that's what it means to be real with people, so long as you are being real with yourself too first-most as well.

I don’t know if intp women are just different from intp men. But I think you’re closer to an infj rather than an intp. You said “get a job because that’s what everyone else does” which is actually inaccurate. There are people who are just rich and never have to work. And also the phrase ‘because that’s what everyone does’ is something an intp would never say. Followed by a judgemental comment “you’re a waste of life if you don’t” (don’t think that’s what you said but it implied). Also something an intp would not say. You gave tons and tons of advice which I think was unnecessary and the way you speak of life often. “It sucks” and the way you talk about others you don’t like is very feeler language. You impose your personal opinion and perspective a lot. You talk a lot about what should be done and the right way to do things. Even if you dismiss them.
(Just my analysis, if you found this offensive I apologise ((also means you’re probably an infj)) it’s just analysis)
