- Fitted up the Gibson with a set of much heavier strings - after fixing the intonation, love these strings. Nice and tight, good tone, and they keep their tuning well! I'm playing in drop C here and I'm using my Engl Fireball
Beast sound, beast player, beast review. Crazy you're doing this on an Explorer.
Sweater - metal/10
I use the heavy core 10-48 on my washburn flying V and they keep in tune more than Ernie ball reg's and hybrid strings in any guitar in my collection. Used them on the V a while back and they kept going out of guitar every time i use it but using these strings i havnt tuned the guitar in ages. Weeks. Months and they still sound great too
@fizzlefresh14 Really easy actually, I was quite surprised. I think I'll be sticking with these from now on
Using 11/50 for the ultimate Gojira tone🤘🐋🇫🇷
sounds great, did you make any adjustmenst on the nut cause of the thick strings ?
very cool bro thanks for the information in describ and the video
that tone is sooooo raw what amp are you using
I use the same, but in drop B. Awesome strings.
Thank you!
Nice video man I used the same strings in my latest video (my last serenade) just to try them and now im hooked
@xxweaponsxx123 A little bit - if you've got heavier strings then you can downtune more and keep the tightness of the sound, and I think that thicker strings have a bigger, fuller sound anyway
@evilotto77cheese These strings are amazing in Standard!! I recommend these string to anyone. Heavy Core #1
@evilotto77cheese You may be right. I'm using 11-54's (yes, in standard tuning) now and it's already quite tight. It's just that they don't have this hybrid gauge. Otherwise I would've liked to try these Heavy-Cores.
Amazing!
It depends how big the change is - if you're only going one gauge heavier then it should be ok, but if you're changing from a very light set to a very heavy set then it's worth having a professional check the neck isn't being warped. Best thing to do is to take the guitar to a music shop and have them do it for you, so they can set up the guitar properly as well
I'm a beginner, I have a fender Starcaster, and this is the sounds I want. Do you think my guitar will be ok with these strings?
What the fuck man?Awesome playing!!!Is it your riffs or some band's?
Soundin' sick, kinda reminds me of Mastodon, Kyuss, the Sword, bands like that
I didnt have to file the nut dor 13-60 on my omen 6 but couldn't get perfect intonation as the saddles can only move so much and the tunimatic on my guitar cant flip them to get that little bit more needed. got daddario nyxl 1052
@almzap Yeah I think in standard they might be a bit tight, but try it though and see what you think
@joweerocks No the only thing I had to change was the intonation, everything else feels fine
Bill Keliher from Mastodon uses 12-54 I think
Hey. I use these now for drop tuning purposes. Just wondering if they were good for drop c sharp. (Pantera kinda stuff). I've been getting into the Dimebag style of guitar and its fun. I also use the 11-54's. They work best in drop tunings I think, drop c sharp, c, b, and a.
i'm planing to get some .13s for my strat to play some QOTSA with some guys
@DuskY1991 It would be a bit unnecessary for standard, I think
I use a Chinese knockoff Fender Stratocaster, and my High E snapped, would strings of this gauge be compatible, since I'm learning Metal?
Hello, i just some of these strings, but how do i tune them? My tuner is giving me a different letter for tunning?
dude is Washburn WI14 can handle this gauge? also is it good for standard tuning? haha thanks! good vid! :D
Thanks to this video I am buying these strings. But can you tell me what kidna guitar that is my friend? I know its Gibson
Sure - it's an Explorer, just the standard model
Can 11-50 gauge go on a Tele ?
Hey, what's the scale length of your guitar? I've got a strat-styled guitar, I wanna know if these strings will work on my guitar, thanks!
@fizzlefresh14 On most of my properly set up guitar I've been using 10-52s, these ones just feel a bit better
I heard many people said ..
if you change heavier string.. you need to resetup the guitar ..
if not .. the neck will be crooked..
is that ture ?
my guitar is a fixed bridge..like you.. i really want to find out ... is that ture ?
thank you very much..
veery nice tone, how easy are they to bend?
Can I tune these strings in standard E also, or will they break?
No, they will brake. 11 gauge will brake in E standard
I play the daddario heavy' in Eb for the Srv tone, sometimes I also tune up to E standard
i have two Dean V's with standard strings on them, and i am wanting a heavier gauge string, they both have a tune-o-matic bridge, what would be the best set of heavy cores to get
Does it matter what strings you use? I mean for the sound
Pf.. I play 12-52s and it's really good to play jazz with this strings for ex
Are you actually tuned in standard tuning with a C sixth string, or is it standard D with the C sixth string?
Drop C. It's D-A-F-C-G-C from high E to low E string
can i have tabs please for your demonstration? 😂😂
how good do these strings sound Standard? i heard their meant for drop tuning mostly
Then personally I'd go for the heavier ones, but then I like heavy strings. It's all down to personal taste really
What kind of guitar are you putting it in?
@evilotto77cheese what size were you coming from?
An Engl is my last wish to get! wait.....it's my next wish I think
@evilotto77cheese Would you play these in standard?
Hi, okay? The G string (3rd) is bare?
did you have to file the nut?
No not at all
12-54 capable of doing standard e tuning or are they too heavy gauge
nope it's just for dropped tuning :)
You can! Don't listen to him. I have the same 12-54 on my Esp in standard E. For me it works just fine :)
ended up using 11-52 they work great love the tension when in E and its not muffled in drop c like i was getting with the 9s i had on before.
Ah, I see ;) Got 11-52 on my Synyster Gates Custom and a Ibanez :) Love it :) Got both in drop C.
DragonRoLo that's too heavy unless your playing jazz but as a metal player i use .009's for standard
you mean plain? haha yea it is.
