Baltimore - The Wire locations, part two

- When The A.V. Club originally considered potential locations from The Wire for Pop Pilgrims, we had more options than we could handle, hence the two-part episode devoted to one of our favorite shows. One of the first ideas we had for a location was the detail office-the shabby building used by Lt. Daniels and his crew after season one-but location scout Eric Bannat informed us the building was only used for exteriors. (We still visited it anyway.)

NoTricksNoTricks look up McCulloh Homes ... that’s the Pitt
“Where the shop at?”
I don't care about spoilers. It's how the plot develops and how the action is paced, not the actual outcome, that matters in a good story. The journey is more satisfying than the end
Bubbles was not based on a personal named Bubbles. He was based on a notorious Baltimore snitch named Possum.
Possum was the actual informant for the BCPD that started that hat trick. (Placed the red hat on top suspects)
hat trick? i think i missed something what u mean can u explain that bro
@@AlmightyLoudRemember first season Bubbles pointed out who the big players was by putting a hat on them with different colors pretending he was selling them?
@@FatherOfAmir1was he puting wires in their hats😂
It’s really crazy that they actually filmed in all these places and not actually see the real illegal activities going on. It’s like all the real people just up and move so they could film this series
A lot of time the production companies will make deals with property owners to shoot in specific on scene locations.
I know for a fact for example that there was a family actively living in the house Walter White lives in during breaking bad. They used to host bbqs for the crew....
I could've shown y'all a few more spots I played in 2 episodes of the wire I did a scene spider
I would have liked to see The Pit from season 1
That was all CGI, fool!
@Arley42 ...how did you not see the text that said "major spoiler ahead"?
Hello, this is great! I am a big fan of "The Wire" and we also have a Facebook group, I didn't start it, but it's an awesome group. It would be very cool we could do a tour of "The Wire" locations in 2020
I hear that the WMD is the bomb.
There are only two episodes.of the wire, the first one and the last one...
The day you go in and the day you come out
I been to Baltimore I seen those streets like this.
Why does anyone watch these type videos before even watching the series? Wouldn’t have to worry about a “spoiler” lol
I still want to know where "The Towers" were filmed, and was the destruction in the season 3 opener an actual implosion of real standing buildings? I ask this as a relatively new resident of Baltimore who would love to see some of these locations.
The destruction was CGI. David Simon mentioned that by the time they were filming a lot of the towers had already been destroyed. That's why some of the background towers that you see in the pit for example, also aren't real.
@@iddra1868 the last bit isn't true. The towers are still there
when will they do more movie reviews
@Liface I have a few monitors and was doing other things. I simply didn't see it.
It's not the end of the world I guess.....it will simply be less surprising when I reach it.
@delacaravanio The shopkeeper knowed who Omar was but he just forgot his name.
novak's grocery is straight hood
You already know, Asians set up shop in EVERY hood
The clerk says ‘this neighborhood isn’t that bad’ yet is sitting behind layers of plexiglass (or bulletproof glass) 🤣
@@snakeeyez1808can never be too safe. All it take is one
What intersection is hamsterdam?
The shopkeeper says he watched the Wire, but doesn't know who Omar is?!
He doesn't need to know that petty sh*t
Thanks for the spoiler heads up
“In this neighborhood everyone is very nice and polite”.. that dudes grocery store got burned down during the riots about a couple years later
Yeah but was it the neighborhood people or random people who just wanted chaos?
I was down there today, it looks like some sort of community building
sad that it looks worse now compared to back then
Can you go where the murders happened in Virginia
@Arley42 Ouch...
Go inside the legalized drug area 😂 I wanna see fr fr where they had Michael selling
dey didnt show yu da pit cuz its really a active drug sector.....believe me i live in more
spookyqwe123 so what is it not back in the day when they were filming there?
mega beatz LMFAO
Sucks Novak grocery burned down
Woah yeah, major spoiler. I shouldn't have watched this yet.... damn.
Damn it sure was 😮
What’s crazy is so called hampsterdam is not even there anymore they knocked that whole bock down…oh yeah baltimore is way worse then what the wire portray
As a 24 year Md resident you are absolutely correct.
What intersection is old hamsterdam?
