I appreciate you explaining the character of the genres as you go along. That's why this channel has my favorite tutorials as you explain the theory behind what you are doing.
@@EDMTips HI Will, Mr Teacher. Would you do in the style of Joseph Capriati ("Fratello" (your version 2024) or " Solar system" (version 2024?)What do you think about it ? :) thanks a lot to help us !!!
So good. I’m sure a huge amount of prep goes into these videos but you make is seem so natural - like you’re in a total flow state. So aside from the great technical learnings, good tunes and great humour it’s just great to watch. Very inspiring- especially for those of us who feel very stuck with our own flow. Thank you!
Amen brother! Walked through several your lessons from chords/melody/beats making till track breakdowns for specific genres like this. Everyone was easy to grasp and helps me improving my skills from real zero to something I can show my friends with no shame. Thank you so much. Also great to see you having so much joy hitting the right sound/melody, this makes such lessons even more inspiring. However every time I beg you not to add/use so many tracks for sake of miserable) amateur producers who didn't find an excuse to spend $100 or more for Ableton Intro or next.
Glad you're enjoying them, thank you for watching and supporting the channel! If I use fewer tracks, I won't be able to achieve the sound I really want. Some genres require more elements than Lite can offer.
Argh, screw it) I just bought Standard. Weird thing is price - retailers offer significantly cheaper than Ableton site itself. I heard limitations may help creativity but yeah it will work on a next stage when I'll have enough experience to not make silly mistakes. As for now - god bless EQ Eight.. they definitely know what not to include into limited versions to force users spend money)
As usual, Will doesn't disappoint. This video is as educational as it is entertaining, quite a feat! I particularly enjoyed the great interplaying synths after the drop, super powerful. And I love that "struggle" moments are not overly edited out. They're just as educational-and entertaining!
I have found the path of least resistance for getting a solid groove is using "a bit of random" ableton velocity midi effect preset on midi for drum elements to humanize the midi; or using preprocessed wet samples from PML that have the humanization baked in for the top and perc loops. Deep premium's is a great sample pack for that purpose. Also Morph 2 by Zynaptic is a very underutilized vst for Melodic Techno
You're welcome! 🙂I learned to ignore the haters years ago...anyone who wants to achieve anything has to learn that 😆 Oooh....rootless chord progressions? What would an example be?@@AndyBeez
Amazing , I started producing since 3 years ago and I had learn a lot about your channel. Thanks for sharing your work and knowledge. Must appreciated it. 🙏🙏
I never learn as fast as when I follow along these tutorials! and then proceeding to get my own ideas, tweaking sounds, exploring Ableton and forgetting I was following a tutorial in the first place XD Thank you for investing so much time into these videos, super helpful and entertaining!
You are a very good teacher. You concentrate for so long... It would be good to see/hear more about starting with samples. Like a kind of 'limited palette' approach with instrument samples.
Loved the viedo I would like a viedeo where you show how to make music like scooter one of the best techno group and I would like to try making a song like them🙏
Would be cool to see Will create something out of his head instead of some reference song / artist(s). Also would be cool to see one full process from empty project to fully finished track🎉
This is a very cold tune for the end of all time. This was another fantastic tutorial. And it is pretty easy to follow along with all your explanations around it. Thank you, Will. And by the way, nice jokes when making of this tune. This was real fun.
Random side question. I'm a photo editor. I appreciate the difference of the layer ordering. What's on top Will block what's behind it. Does the order of layers matter in music? Is there any priority given to the sound on the top layer? Set my initial guess is that at all happens at the same time so it really isn't effected by the order of layering but I could be wrong.
I totally agree with all the compliments posted earlier. you are reallybplayingbin the champions league of (EDM)tutorials 🏆. 💡 Idea for a new video: David Guetta is remixing a lot of 90's banger. Probably it is an idea to take a 90's EuroDance song and remix it in the style of David Guetta.
4:22 : Will if you add the sub oscillator (Sample) to the same octave as your 1st oscillator, you have to turn the Random Phase to 0 (and move the start phase to 0°) because without this, you'll have a lot of phase cancellations. Not very cool for your lowend's Power Cheers
I love your style of teaching and producing!! It's so encouraging and educational so thank you for that. My only comment for improvement on the video is that it seems your voice is maybe 2db too loud, or maybe the music is a few db too quiet? Either way it's a rather small gripe and overall I love the videos and you've definitely got a new long time subscriber with me. :)
Great work Will. Sounded righteous. Initially reminded me of the syncopated cue from the heist scene in Heat. Peak-time Techno tutorial be good (not mad on Industrial Techno - always sounds like it's trying too hard). Keep them coming anyway.
