RIGHT?!!! It's like yeah I'm beautiful from head to toe and I'm gonna bring out my natural beauty(instead of covering/correcting anything that's "unflattering").
Aly, your series made me love my body for the first time in my life. I'd been struggling with weight, bulimia and binge eating for 10 years and even at my lowest weight (55 kg at 169 cm), I still didn't look skinny enough to be approved by my female peers (I'm a soft natural- combined with heavy, black outfits and oversized sweaters I looked really quite unattractive). You made me love fashion, experiments and myself more than any other youtuber out there and I'm extremely grateful for what you do. You're a real life saver, Aly. Beauty seems to be such a shallow topic to people who don't struggle with anxiety but to me, this was a real issue that made me fall back in life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Also, BTW, would you mind doing an episode on hats? Thank you!
The greatest series on RUclips! This is so useful! I no longer spend money on items I don’t wear! Thank you so much! By the way, does anyone know where I can find Kibbie’s book?
Hi Aly, the Italian Style Pump referrs to the way the pump is made. Italy among other countrys is well known for it's fine leather goods. Their style of making shoes is: classic in shape "never out of style" pointy tip but not too narrow and the heels are not too chunky. The way the leather is used is very crisp, neat edges. Strong/sturdy leather soles and soft leather on the outside. Not so many details like embellishments. Hope this helps! Love from Italy 😘
Italy is known for their good quality leather. Maybe Kibbe trys to suggest with his italian style pumps, good quality leather shoes with a twist. I have visited italy and all women wear classic style heels but with a unusual color or ornament but it still looks classy and kind of avantgarde.... like those valentino shoes with those studs, classic but kinda edgy
Love that you're doing the body type series again! It's always great to see a new video from you! I would like to see swimsuits/underwear for each body type :)
Yay! I love this body types series. I'd really love another hair video, dealing with ideas for when your hair isn't naturally the stereotypical type for your body type. Like Romantics with pin-straight thin hair or dramatics with fluffy afros. Like I'm not going to curl-set my hair into theatrical romantic Old Hollywood waves every day but I'd certainly put it in a simple updo or consider the length. Ideas would be amazing.
You could check out some of merriam style's videos for this, I think she covered the 'straight hair but romantic' thing in her casual looks for romantics and theatrical romantics video. Otherwise, I think just following your lines would be best. For afro hair with dramatics, for example: dramatic are geometric and accurate. So the afro should have to be very clean and accurate, like a nice smooth circle around the head. For naturals just keeping it, well, natural woudl be best. For classics trying to tie it back in a clean but and then take care of that the not-sleeked back part, the fluffy part where someone with straight hair's ponytail woudl be, is also very clean. No matter your hairtype, just kind of 'translatingt' the key words (wild, carefree, clean, stylized, whispy etc.) for your hairtype is key.
@@gittevandevelde2208 Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I did see that Merriam Style video and promptly begged her for more in the comments, haha. But yes, it's a good one. Your description of the dramatic 'fro reminds me of that Roberta Flack album cover* where her hair is in the exact shape of the record inside. I'm in the TR boat, but I've got straight hair with a slight bend that won't even hold wet-set curls (so, Natural's hair, basically). And I'm staying away from heat treatment because I use henna, so I guess "glam updo, side part" is a winner in my case. I'm growing out my hair to elbow length with blunt cut ends; kinda the opposite of TR recs but when I do layers it always looks like rats chewed my hair off in my sleep. I've probably wasted enough thought over this issue. * www.funkmysoul.gr/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/front45.jpg

Hey, I wanted to know how a romantic body type can dress up in a little less feminine way? I'm a little tomboyish but I have a very soft and curvy figure and my demeanour is very bubbly and free-spirited, not delicate. When I wear super girly clothes I feel uncomfortable maybe bc I'm too young rn to dress like a woman anyway? (I'm 19) I don't feel like myself and I also feel it doesn't suit my personality even though it is perfect to my body. I also like dressing up in harmony with my lines, I don't want to look out of place. I'm sorry this is complicated... I hope you can answer my question Thank you so much for everything you've taught me so far, I love you.
Look up Merriam Style on youtube and click on her video called "style actualization". She talks precisely about this. About how Romantics/TRs can dress edgier without abandoning their lines.
@@Haghenveien She claims to be a Romantic with an edgier or slightly tomboyish personality. Our personality and body type are independent from each other. However, you can dress according to your personality and still follow your lines. Just clarifying. Good day!
Initially when I came to know about the body types I thought that it was something different and I should try it........but now I think that it is quite impractical to wear only stuff prescribed by the body types this is something which cannot be followed on a daily basis by normal people. Love your videos and the way you explain.
Hi Aly! For Dramatic Classics, you asked what "Italian Style Pumps" are. When I was little, it meant pumps with a kitten heel, extremely narrow and long (the toes didn't touch the end of the shoe) but the point was a bit rounded. I can't seem to find any examples online, but they looked very elegant. Thank you for making your videos so fun and well organized!
When you're so early that all the times aren't posted yet so you have to sit through the video waiting for your type. By the way, I will always wear block heels no matter my type because honestly I can't walk on those thin shitty things. I like heels though.
Aly I love u...U r my favourite channel..but I have a question...why in these series u dedicate the shortest time with minimum examples to FLAMBOYANT NATURAL??? 😭😭😭...please dedicate us a video...hi from Malta 😘😘😘
It all just became so clear to me, lol. Shoes are like my make or break wardrobe item. You literally just explained why I love and reach for the ones that I do. Also why I once had and loved a pair of mens saddle shoes and also my love affair with funky shoes in general. As a flamboyant natural I have always felt like the 'world' wanted me to wear something delicate but I was rebelling by wearing these strong shoes, lol - when those are the ones I needed all along.
I think very fitted sleek platform is the most fun way to break the no chunky shoes rule as a TR. if you mix in delicacy of very narrow ankle to the boot that hits below the shin starts, or lacing all the way up over l over the knee. it looks wonderfully edgy. Id encourage all classics and true gamines to try that as well, any type with conflicting mixes of yin and yang.
@@abigailr2654 Ohh I can see what you mean, thank you. I think my body is closer to hers but my head/face is closer to her sister (Chloe), but I don't think I'm the same body type as Chloe because she is curvy, and I'm not. If I have her body and her sister's head (if that mes sense?) what would that make me? Just one more person, her name is Sierra Capri she plays a character called Monse on a Netflix show called On My Block.
Coco Zora I would say Chloe is a romantic but her face leans towards theatrical romantic. I wouldnt say that that a soft gamine couldnt have her features though. I think it really depends on the proportion of your head to body because soft gamines tend to have larger heads but if your head is more average then I might consider flamboyant gamine or regular gamine. I think monse is a dramtic classic. She does have some gamine features but the overall effect is dramatic classic.
I love this, i always have a hard time dressing for my body type and whenever i would buy new clothes it would seem most clothes didn't look good when i put them on. I always wondered what shoes would be most flattering.. .. so, I took snap shots of like 3 different types you mentioned that I thought might be mine.. Lol please keep these types of videos coming.. I love learning what's flattering and what is a waste of time. 😄❤
Maybe this idea is silly, but how about casual wear? I don’t live in an urban place and can’t always figure out how to translate all this higher fashion into everyday wear. Where I live, the style is very casual but I want to look my best- especially as I get older and right now I’m out of shape, which looks heavy on me. I did figure out that tucking my shirt in and keeping clothes ironed does help- even when wearing casual. Thank you!
I like to the video, cool topic but maybe on the next one you could show examples of the body types that you're talking about like with pictures because it was hard to envision what kind of body type you are talking about
There's a lot more videos were she show each body :) Plus, if you want this video being usefull for you, you first need to do the body type test: just doing it you will have an idea of the main 5 types.
Still not sure whether I'm a Classic or Dramatic Classic. Whenever I gain some weight, I look less dramatic. But then I've been trying these tips and I find that Dramatic Classic fashion works best for me
I'm in between Romantic and Theatrical Romantic but all I ever wear is chunky boots because it's just always been my style, plus I need sturdy footwear for work. I've never thought about them as making me look heavier but I don't think I can change all the shoes I wear 😬
Can I just add to your list of shoes for soft dramatics - Looks great on SD: Wedges (sandals and closed ones) Heels - platform shoes, peep toes, rounded I wouldn't agree that narrow heels look good on us. It doesn't look good on me nor on celebrities who are this body type.
I think most women tend to idealize bodies that seem a little out of reach for even opposite. Lol I'm a very tall and athletic flamboyant natural and I love the long curvy lines of soft dramatics.
I am so proud of myseld because ever since I've discovered Kibbe's system (by watching your videos), I've been paying more attention to the lines of my body and trying to imagine how clothes would fit on me when I search for inspiration online and your Theatrical Romantic board is basically exactly what I picked out for myself/feel pretty in ^^. From your descriptions TR style sounds a bit too ornate for me so I was afraid that your suggestions would be 'too much' for me, but they actually gave me so much courage because there was a bunch of stuff about which I though, 'not sure how TR this is but I'm gonna buy it anyway cause I love it'
Aly, you are changing the way I see myself. I love your sweet voice and your knowledgeable, intellectual style. Please do hats for the types? And skirts? and,.... and.... ? Thank you SO MUCH-- you are brilliant. Love from California.
I’m subscribed to her actually!! I think my issue is just that I can’t seem to look at myself too objectively to come up with a non-biased answer.. I’m about 5’1 so I THINK I’m some type of gamine? I’m still mixed up with the clothing lines tho hahaha :-)
Hi Aly! I love all your Kibbe videos. You are so informative and positive about each body type. You’re fantastic! Would you please do a video on casual style for each type? I feel that for my particular type (Dramatic Classic), I struggle the most with non-work/informal looks. Thank you!!!
hi aly, for dramatic classic, try to googling image of "fashion dictionary Italian pumps", you will see that in one of the infographics, italian style pumps are straight heels with no curvature whatsoever, very "angular". I was also wondering what kibbe meant by that, but this is my best guess!
I think "italian style *pumps* " refer to _scarpines_ , which is a classic pointed toe pump with a sky-high thin heel. This style gives the prettiest curve to your instep and feet look very sleek (though only super thin women can handle the height, due to the pressure set upon the front foot and toes).
I love your Body Type Series! I can’t wait for you to do a Swimwear/ Bathing Suit video! I’m a Theatrical Romantic, and it’s nice to learn about the diversity of body shapes other than the typical pear and hourglass! Thank you!!
I'm a soft natural and i LOVE wedges!! No wonder!!! Elegant heels just look...wrong...on my masculine af legs.😂😂😂 my bon structure looks masculine but my flesh makes me feminine? Whatever😂
This is so accurate!!! I am a Dramatic Classic and somehow the shoes that catches my eye are all of those featured in the DC section! I never liked those over the top floral lacey types and I always thought there was something wrong with me, like I'm not being feminine enough. I feel so much more at ease now knowing that I am not "weird".
I’m so happy I found this channel ❤️💋 soft natural. It helped me a lot. I donated most of my clothes that have been collecting dust. I would always wonder why I had issues finding my style. It was confusing at first before because I would copy celebrities. Now I stopped and try to find my look. I’ve had so much success friends and family didn’t know what I did but they noticed. This has changed my life. 🙏 thank you for teaching me about Kibbe body type. I feel comfortable and confident now. ❤️💕💞💓🎉🎊💋😍 4ever Subbie
OMG the light bulb that goes off when you realize you're not the one you thought you were all along, thanks to knowing how you look in certain things Aly describes.. N instead of FN!
I've watched your body types test multiple times and just can't seem to pin-point which type I am, I think that is because I myself am trying to gauge and it is hard to see which answer choices to pick, but I can never seem to figure out what body type that I am! 😩
I haven't found my bodytype yet, mostly because I don't really understand how my body weight affects it. I'm underweight, I've always been, so I don't know where I would naturally gain weight.
Aly, what do you think about more extended Larson types? Maybe you'll briefly cover the topic in the next Q&A video? P.s. I first thought it would be a "leopard print for the body types" video 😆
I think by italian style pumps he means the angle or shape of the actual form of the pump when you look at it from the side and also the placement of the heel. Its placed slightly under the heel as opposed to the heels that come straight down from the back of the heel and have a flatter profile. Versus a pronounced profile that mimics the shape of the foot and a heel that is under the heel. Dono if i make any sense 😂
It seems most of this are dress up shoes for parties. What about sturdy everyday winter shoes for those of us living in 3 meter snow and icy roads 10 months per year?
There are loads of chunky sandals and heels right now. It seems impossible to find those slip on sandals with the knotted fabric. Something comfortable yet delicate. Not the greatest time for TRs to stock up.
Thank you for the video Aly! I have to admit that for the first time in this series I disagree with you when it comes to the Soft Classic part. As a SC myself, I feel like narrow and pointed front of the shoes work against the slightly rounded by still moderate lines of Soft Classics. What do you guys think about it?
I'm used to SC's usually being associated with oval toed shoes most often, but I have seen examples otherwise (sometimes the Classics seem to show some range in neckline, material, lengths of clothing, shoe style, so on a bit, it seems, as long as the majority of the outfit still portrays the SC or DC feel and nothing is ostentatious or jarring and it suits the individual). And I can see how in some instances an SC might personally feel better reflected in a pointed toe due to the idea of matching jawline to the shape of the toe of the shoe (so a sharper jawline could be mirrored with a narrower shoe). Kibbe does seem to personalize his recommendations a bit in person, as well... Though I do generally associate more rounded toe SC for the yin and more pointed toe with DC for the yang. This is all just about the theory and what tends to fall into what -- I don't care what people choose to wear.
What are your thoughts on wedges for the different types? I'm either a romantic or theatrical romantic and am dying for some wedges with this spring weather but wasn't sure if that would fit my type or not.
It’s great dressing for your body type, BUT sometimes it’s nice to just wear whatever you want or think it’s pretty or it just makes you feel good whenever you wear it. Sometimes you should dress in something just for the sake of it, and not because it’s meant for your body type. I think so anyway! 🤔 I’m just saying. But I love and appreciate these videos so much, don’t get me wrong! They are so interesting and it’s nice to know which body type is yours! :) Love your content.

I'm in between Romantic and Theatrical Romantic but all I ever wear is chunky boots because it's just always been my style, plus I need sturdy footwear for work. I've never thought about them as making me look heavier but I don't think I can change all the shoes I wear 😬
Very impressed by ur knowledge and attention to smallest details , u r my kind of lady
Can I just add to your list of shoes for soft dramatics -
Looks great on SD:
Wedges (sandals and closed ones)
Heels - platform shoes, peep toes, rounded
I wouldn't agree that narrow heels look good on us. It doesn't look good on me nor on celebrities who are this body type.
I feel like Aly loves Romantics the most because of Marilyn Monroe hahaha
I think most women tend to idealize bodies that seem a little out of reach for even opposite. Lol I'm a very tall and athletic flamboyant natural and I love the long curvy lines of soft dramatics.
I am so proud of myseld because ever since I've discovered Kibbe's system (by watching your videos), I've been paying more attention to the lines of my body and trying to imagine how clothes would fit on me when I search for inspiration online and your Theatrical Romantic board is basically exactly what I picked out for myself/feel pretty in ^^.
From your descriptions TR style sounds a bit too ornate for me so I was afraid that your suggestions would be 'too much' for me, but they actually gave me so much courage because there was a bunch of stuff about which I though, 'not sure how TR this is but I'm gonna buy it anyway cause I love it'
Great tips- something I never gave a lot of thought to but now I will. Love your glasses and cap. So cute.
can we talk about her bucket hat?? love it
Never mind what body type I love all the shoes and wish I had them all but not the high heel ones ! I love my feet and health more!
Aly, you are changing the way I see myself. I love your sweet voice and your knowledgeable, intellectual style. Please do hats for the types? And skirts? and,.... and.... ? Thank you SO MUCH-- you are brilliant. Love from California.
I can't wait for more videos!! I'm still so unsure of my body type hahah
Just by your face you look like some sort of dramatic type or ig gamine if you dont fit in any
Alya Al Qassab check out merriam style’s videos, she’s super helpful in helping get rid of the confusion with body types.
I’m subscribed to her actually!! I think my issue is just that I can’t seem to look at myself too objectively to come up with a non-biased answer.. I’m about 5’1 so I THINK I’m some type of gamine? I’m still mixed up with the clothing lines tho hahaha :-)
Oh my lord the Pinterest boards help so much! Thank you!!!!
I keep revisiting your videos like a style wikipedia! How about "sneakers for the body types?" . you re the best!
Hi Aly!
I love all your Kibbe videos. You are so informative and positive about each body type. You’re fantastic!
Would you please do a video on casual style for each type? I feel that for my particular type (Dramatic Classic), I struggle the most with non-work/informal looks. Thank you!!!
This is a real and useful Beauty youtuber, thank you!!!
Prom season is coming up in a couple months! Can you please do a video on prom dresses for the body types???
Hey Aly you forgot round toes for the romantics!
No skinny high heels. Or pointy toes. I don't care what style I am. They don't suit my short wide feet. Size 6W.
Kathy B.
You just saved me so much money. Previously I would buy chunky shoes or angular pumps and they never worked for me because I am soft classic.
hi aly, for dramatic classic, try to googling image of "fashion dictionary Italian pumps", you will see that in one of the infographics, italian style pumps are straight heels with no curvature whatsoever, very "angular". I was also wondering what kibbe meant by that, but this is my best guess!
Love this series from you! ^-^ Can you do an episode of short hair for the body types? (: whish you the best xo
I don’t know. I thought I was dramatic classic but I’m questioning this because I look 💣 🔥🙌🏾 in chunky shoes! That’s my fav look 😩
I think "italian style *pumps* " refer to _scarpines_ , which is a classic pointed toe pump with a sky-high thin heel. This style gives the prettiest curve to your instep and feet look very sleek (though only super thin women can handle the height, due to the pressure set upon the front foot and toes).
At 4:16 When he says ‘Italian style pumps’ I think he means stilettos.
Aly, what makeup brands do you use? Your makeup always looks super nice. Also...your English is really, really good. You are a hard worker.
I love your Body Type Series! I can’t wait for you to do a Swimwear/ Bathing Suit video! I’m a Theatrical Romantic, and it’s nice to learn about the diversity of body shapes other than the typical pear and hourglass!
Thank you!!
i wish you did more makeup videos.
Yes I like them too!
Hello Alyona! Thanks very much for everything! By the way, maybe you could make video about "Hats for the body types" ?
Can you do street wear/casual wear for body types
Love your hat😍 how about haircuts, specifically pixie cuts, they have been fascinating me for a while
I would love that, good idea !
I'm a soft natural and i LOVE wedges!! No wonder!!! Elegant heels just look...wrong...on my masculine af legs.😂😂😂 my bon structure looks masculine but my flesh makes me feminine? Whatever😂
Same! So I stay away from kitten or pin heels, and for pumps I stick to a thicker heel/slight pkatform
I love your videos!
It’s interesting, a few of the styles I liked most were those that look best with my body type; romantic. This might be why.
Hola Aly, I love your series about body types!
I'd be great if you could do a video about swimwear for each body type!
Greetings from Buenos Aires!
Aly ,love your lipliner and lipstick. Please share, and thanks for sharing.
So wonderful! Yay !
Dear Aly, thank You so much for Your great videos. Which kind of sandals for the dramatics? Best wishes, Kata
So happy you made this one! I think I'm soft classic. Still unsure =/
I’ve been waiting for this one!!
OMG the light bulb that goes off when you realize you're not the one you thought you were all along, thanks to knowing how you look in certain things Aly describes.. N instead of FN!
Italian-style pumps are very narrow throughout the foot and pointed in the toe
Amazing😍.. just plz keep on with this series.. Its really intersting.. ❤❤❤❤
Very nice thanks
Thank you!
I've watched your body types test multiple times and just can't seem to pin-point which type I am, I think that is because I myself am trying to gauge and it is hard to see which answer choices to pick, but I can never seem to figure out what body type that I am! 😩
Please Aly, I need a list of celebrities for every body type.
Nagla Mahmoud she did this look at celebrity body types
You spoke more about personal style than body shapes!!
Not the greatest time for TRs to stock up.
nice video !
can u please do a snikers for the body types?
How about wedding dresses for different body types?
Awww. I love my chunky shoes! I wear with a slight boot cut pant.
:) Love your content.
you are a great artist aly.. love you soooooooooooooooooooo much
Still not sure about my body type
Can you do a video about bangs/fringe for the body types?
Thank you for these videos
