So the World Club Challenge is a yearly game between the winners of the NRL (Australia/NZ) and the Super League ( England/France).
and it often favours the Super League team since they finish their season closer to the end of their premiership so they're often still at a competitive peak while the NRL winner is coming out of their rest period.
Very different styles of rugby league. Great fun to watch

I was in the stadium watching this. What a game. What an atmosphere and what drama. But the mighty Warriors take their fifth World Cup Championship.
Rugby league never disappoints. There will be something in every game that makes you glad you watched.
Wigan really gave Penrith fan-boys in Australia a big wake-up call. Their tears of frustration haven't stopped flowing since that fateful night
And the previous year it was Saints that beat them 😂

Camera angle is behind and then there's the momentum rule. Strip and double movement was the bad calls
@@jamespopcorn11 i'd say that as well, but the hands positioning when he releases the ball looks forward, like he releases out past his chin.
@@brendanparker4605 from the angle in the replay it does look like it but on another angle it looks flat. Both passes looked forward from the highlight replay but on the other angle first one looks flat second looks like it went back. There 50-50 that goes for and against all the time, the real injustices would be the Wardle double movement but I can understand why video ref didn't rule against on field decision and the strip was defo wrong but I dont think there was captain challenges in the game, in the a normal nrl match that would be challenged and over turned.
Theres a reason why we dont use the video ref for forward passes.

Dear Aussies, if you want to win you need to score more points. Blaming refs for results is not on. Both sides played superbly. A clash of Titans. Wonderful game for all fans of the game. Either could've won down to the last second. This time Wigan did.

Hi there pleased you like Rugby League. It’s a great sport probably the best in the world. Wigan warriors in the 1980 had great entertaining teams, check out Challenge Cup Finals from this era. 😊

Pretty much everybody except the refs and bunker saw that wasn’t a try from Wigan 😂
It clearly was a try. The end of the ball is touching the line after the Penrith players drag him over in the act of trying to wrestle him. Read about it in the papers.

I was there. Some dubious decisions, and such a shame French was offside as that would have been a try for the ages. Great game though!!

Refs were a joke, england rugby league need to sort out the terrible quality of their refs. Hoping the NRL buy the superleague out soon so they can sort out the league so it isnt just st helens and wigan winning all the time.

2 non-tries for Wigan. What a satisfying win.
Wigan was getting tired around 2nd half, kept in their 40 meter line nearly all game, penrith get the ball and gets unbelievable calls from the refs to turn it over and give Wigan opportunities to score. The play the ball from Peachy, 1 on 1 strip by Martin and don't get me started on that 3rd "TRY" by Wigan🤦♂

Daylight robbery ... a try to Wigan awarded that was not grounded over the line, and at the end a try for Penrith denied that was grounded over the line before they dragged the ball carrying arm up. Referee was also from Wigan ... conflict of interest if ever there was one.
The Ref. is from St. Helens!!
This was biggest robbery of the decade, the ref was bias with his calls in the second half

Gridiron is only played in two nations really they don't care, it doesn't matter what codes are better or bigger around the world. Ithink this was brilliant game to watch are you saying Italy Vs Portugal in the ruwc was better than this game? What I've reached to with American watch the both codes I think most have said league is more exciting and better however this hated between the both codes as to stop I mean how many ex league players are coaching in union and making your game better?
It's unions own fault on why it's not as big in Australia, they only take private school boys, and don't even really advertise the sport much compared to stuff like nrl and afl
