@@falanajerido6939 He crossed over into Country and charted sixteen singles in the top ten, with eleven of those hits reaching #1 on the county charts during his solo career. He was soft rock initially, with songs like this still beloved today.
That's my cousin Steve Earl on bass. Tho several of us in the extended family play and sing, he's the only one who achieved a career or real notoriety. He played for Dan right up until the end.
If Dan were here today I would have loved to see him and Richie sambora cover this together. Two great singers and guitarists. Rip Dan. Ty for the great music
Wonderful country version of this song. But I still like his England Dan version best. Maybe it's because I grew up in the 1970s and the original reminds me of times when life was more fun.
Hello, yeah, it's been a while Not much, how 'bout you? I'm not sure why I called I guess, I really just wanted to talk to you And I was thinking maybe later on We could get together for a while It's been such a long time And I really do miss your smile I'm not talking 'bout moving in And I don't want to change your life But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around And I'd really love to see you tonight We could go walking through a windy park Or take a drive along the beach Or stay at home and watch TV You see, it really doesn't matter much to me I'm not talking 'bout moving in And I don't want to change your life But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around And I'd really love to see you tonight I won't ask for promises So, you don't have to lie We've both played that game before Say "I love you", then say "Goodbye" I'm not talking 'bout moving in (I'm not talking) And I don't want to change your life ('bout changing your life) But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around And I'd really love to see you tonight (I'd really love to see you tonight) I'm not talking 'bout moving in (I'm not talking) And I don't want to change your life ('bout changing your life) But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around And I'd really love to see you tonight (I'd really love to see you tonight) I'm not talking 'bout moving in (I'm not talking) And I don't want to change your life ('bout changing your life) But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around

Hello, yeah, it's been a while
Not much, how 'bout you?
I'm not sure why I called
I guess, I really just wanted to talk to you
And I was thinking maybe later on
We could get together for a while
It's been such a long time
And I really do miss your smile
I'm not talking 'bout moving in
And I don't want to change your life
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around
And I'd really love to see you tonight
We could go walking through a windy park
Or take a drive along the beach
Or stay at home and watch TV
You see, it really doesn't matter much to me
I'm not talking 'bout moving in
And I don't want to change your life
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around
And I'd really love to see you tonight
I won't ask for promises
So, you don't have to lie
We've both played that game before
Say "I love you", then say "Goodbye"
I'm not talking 'bout moving in (I'm not talking)
And I don't want to change your life ('bout changing your life)
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around
And I'd really love to see you tonight (I'd really love to see you tonight)
I'm not talking 'bout moving in (I'm not talking)
And I don't want to change your life ('bout changing your life)
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around
And I'd really love to see you tonight (I'd really love to see you tonight)
I'm not talking 'bout moving in (I'm not talking)
And I don't want to change your life ('bout changing your life)
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around
I really love this song but in this song I miss the piano piece that go with this is song

I really wish he’d sung it in the original key.

Anyone know the year he did this?
Look at the title in the parentheses 1995
He recorded this song for the first time in 1976, you can find it in Nights are forever with John Ford Collie
