From Maximus's point of view, this must be like living in a warzone for years then seeing a small town on the front lines that acts like there is was never a war going on.
And there’s like….one eyed fish people there too.
No group could possibly be this happy for good reasons.

They actually are. Everyone is living quite peaceful and safe lives, at least until Lucy and Max showed up. And Max stole their power. And beat several people up.
@@huydang5955 and then they stepped outside and weren’t happy again. And that was back in 2024. So so they went back into the vault.
We have been conditioned with so many what the fcuk moments then we are given a plot twist of what the unfcuk moment.
A vault full of happy people with no worries? In Fallout?
What dark and terrible secret do they harbor to make this happen? There is no happiness in this world unless it comes with a steep and terrible price. I will find it, I will expose it and I will ruin this happiness for everyone until you match the misery of the Wasteland!

Fallout is kind of like "Lessons of Reality" cranked up to 11. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Everything is a zero-sum game. For something to prosper, another has to lose out. It applies everywhere from farming to economics.
All they have to give me is Sugar Bombs, Blamco Mac and Cheese and Nuka Cola (no dark)

Maximus doesn’t belong in the BoS what he really wants is somewhere safe and by the End he feels Lucy is a safer place than the Brotherhood.
