Did this fund pay to appear on the show as is commonly the case on RUclips investment channels? The gentle questions suggest so. Please disclose this to us. In any case, Vas' brother seems to be in many of the stocks the fund invests in, well ahead of time. No impropriety suggested but something to think about. The company also sometimes invests in stocks that are lacking in social responsibility, Ramelius being one egregious example.
I’d be interested to know the gold stocks they have in their fund. Obviously they don’t like giving the names out for free, but you seem to have some insight. The fund takes 25% of any profits so there’s no way I’d join. I took profits on Ramelius
@@MoneyofMine Thanks for clearing that up. Much appreciated. Refreshing to see and unlike many other RUclips investment channels. On balance I enjoyed the interview. A few critical questions could have helped give the interview more credibility. Eg "what are your biggest mistakes" or "have you ever been misled by directors." Etc. keep up the good work
@@lawntofoodforest they had a disastrous position in SVG which (correct me if I'm wrong) fell 75 percent in a year. Always ask critical questions, politely of course.
Buffet also admits he doesn't understand technology or tech stocks. So while he is friends with Bill Gates, he openly says he wouldn't have invested in Microsoft. So the guy has his specialities. He also is very in with the banks and he also makes mistakes, sometimes howlers. There are different ways of investing in gold related stocks than in physical gold. One is gold explorers or miners. As Vas clearly indicated, if your due diligence turns up an undervalued stock, as it rerates on fundamentals it doesn't matter if the rest of your macro analysis is not 100%. This is also what is known as diversification. If Buffet diversifies with undervalued stocks it doesn't make other undervalued calls wrong. This is oversimplification and wrongheadedness. JIMO
Love JDs long form interviews. Always learn shitloads
I've been looking at their gold fund, so perfect timing and very informative, thanks JD
Well done JD and Vas. Great information, great investment stratergies!
Great work, JD 👍

No one has ever paid to appear on our show. Vas included. We reached out to him and he very nearly declined our request.

Warren buffet does not invest in gold.
Correct, but most of us don’t have billions to invest so we’re playing a different game!

They did try investing in silver at one point without much success
‘When Russia invaded Ukraine unprovoked’…..believing everything you read
I thought the same thing.
For somebody who appears to have a broad worldwide view this is pretty shithouse
