i notice u mispronouce Tidus' name, like i cant talk cause i did that for the longest time and honestly i think that way sounds better but the actual pronouciation is Tee Dus
I don't think they can make anything substantial out of that. The story of Jecht, Auron and Braska was already told in FFX, we know how it started and how it ended, we know their motivations and feelings during the journey, so I don't think they can create a full videogame without being mostly filler. At most, a small videogame with an action combat mechanic, so it doesn't become repetitive since Jech and Braska would fulfill similar roles in battle as TIdus and Yuna, and we've already controlled Auron.
@@thuggins2086 it did explored really well within the jecth sphere but watching jecht's growth from an asshole into good daddy directly kinda tingles my lil heart. Thou we all knew it gonna ends up bad like how zack did
@@jiyefuuu I believe that's why they call it Final Fantasy .. I'm pretty sure that the original Final Fantasy game was destined to be the final game for the company, but it was their redeeming game that saved everything.
Right ? I am not a fast-thinker in games so I've always felt rather intimidated by relatively fast-paced ATB system, even though it does feel really good once you master and get used to it, so X's combat system was perfect for me haha Too bad they are moving towards more real time actions when it comes to battles these days, so I've recently been getting my fix for that combat style via Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia.. While it *is* a spinoff (not to mention mobile and has the gacha system), it has some solid story and nostalgia factors as well as great character interactions, and it has FF X's combat style too ! Game has been pretty F2P friendly also so far, I'd say it's one of, if not their best mobile titles :D
I don't think we will ever get another mainline FF game that has the classic combat system, and I hate the idea, this is just being a realist though. The most recent games from Square that have had combat even remotely close to something like X or older FF games were World of Final Fantasy and Octopath Traveler and both of those qualify as throwback titles of a sort. So seeing a new original mainline game with classic FF combat is a pipe dream (I mean even the FF7 remake throws it away).
@@KINFIN123 Boring shit. You already know how it starts, how it ends and even a few steps to there. Would be nothing more than a cashgrab cowmilk machine. And you know what? I don't want any more of that atrocites they've been coming up with ever since 13, 15, 7 remake and the stupid devil may kingdom hearts of shit they're working on right now. I don't want it to finance more diarrhea.
current square can't handle a standalone RPG (rip ff15 story), let alone the sequel to one of the most beloved entries (rip kh3 story). please for the love of yevon no, just remake every final fantasy ever over the next 20 years. square lives off the past glory, just keep doing that and don't fuck with anything.
i had no idea about the novella and the audio drama until watching this video. maybe they could officially denounce both as cannon...retcon it all. but unless they come up with a real solid story, and as much as I would like to see more of the FFX characters....i think it's done. 10-2 has a solid satisfiable ending.
ffx-2 wrapped up spira's story so well. if ffx-3 does happen, it needs to be a prequel either based on the machina war or braska's pilgrimage, or maybe something different.
i feel like we already seen a lot of braska's journey. But an FFX-3 that revolves around the machina war between Bevelle and Zanarkand leading up to Yu Yevon summoning Sin, starting it all, now that would be an interesting idea!
Braska's journey really isn't that compelling to me, would have been cool as like side-content, but a lot of it would be trudging a very similar journey that we do in X, and we know exactly how it plays out, there's no big reveal or twist to give us. It would be interesting to see a game set in either ancient spira (pre-zanarkand/yu yuven), or a Spira like 1000 years into the future, but then would that even be X-3? I feel like for it to be considered X-3 it has to have something to do with at least some of the characters we've seen in X or X-2, or else they could just title it something else and have it in the same universe, like Tactics to FFXII.
It amazes me how many people in the comments had no knowledge of the audio drama or the novella. Consider yourselves lucky. Those have always been the very reason I would not like to see X-3 come to fruition. They basically just reverse everything the player worked so hard to achieve in X and X-2. Even if X-3 ended up being the story of Braska's pilgrimage, I still wouldn't want it to exist because they would most likely implement the battle system from XV, like they're doing with the VII remake, and that's just something I, personally, don't want to see.
I don't mind either way. If we get an announcement for a Final Fantasy X-3 then, Cool! I'll look forward to it. If we don't then, okay that's fine. I'll even mention that I met James Arnold Taylor (Tidus) last year and I asked him about the rumours of a X-3 being in the works and he said that he had heard about the rumours and would be very excited about returning to the role of Tidus and the world of Spira.
X-2 wrapped it up, but like someone said in the comments I would not mind different story, what led to Sins arrival etc. I don't think they will make it though.
Beckoning or willing something back into existence is the main reason why it breaks the whole narrative. Fear of death (and it being final) is such a strong human emotion and the way 10 ends makes perfect sense...we all have losses in life and they dont come back, but then yuna makes a beautiful speech to remember everyone. It's "simple" on a human level and that's why 10 affects people so emotionally. Bittersweet endings ❤️
I would much much rather have sin return-- Jecht final aeon and all-- than having Tidus die or T/Y split up after 2 games essentially dedicated to them being together and taking tremendous pains to bring Tidus back to life But both are such an "easy way out" approach that demolishes the entire story that precedes it
I played FFX with my big bro when it first came out for countless hours. Years later I played FFX-2 but never beat it until last week when I got the remaster. I blew through FFX (I thought it was much longer when I was young) and FFX-2 was a (super fun) welcome addition. The FFX-2.5 novel and the FFX-Will audio drama have really damaged my cherished memories of these games.
I feel the same way man. Damaged by hearing it. I was screaming at the screen NOOOOOOO!!! WTF!!! NOOOOOOO!! I was crying n shit. I hate that audio........
Machina War prequel would be dope. Not sure what I'd think about anything else but I'd probably buy everything anyway just so I can experience it for myself, regardless if it's good or not.
as much as I love X and even X-2 I think the ending where Yuna declines the offer to resurrect Tidus is the best ending. it fits the themes of X and overall I think it's a very final way to end the story. I still feel happy seeing them reunited but I think should be more of an alternate happy ending.
@@fernandostaejak3705 Yea? Personally, I didn't mind FFX-2. I appreciated the fact that they took the gameplay in a completely different direction. (A-lot of the time, sequels for video games try to replicate what happened in the original game and flop miserably.) We all can agree it was no where near as good as FFX, but it realistically never could have been as good. FFX wasn't just a good game, it was a masterpiece. Many people have only played FFX and never played any other Final Fantasy game. Just goes to show its masterful influence. Same as Final Fantasy 7. So as a result FFX-2 could have never been as good and it wasn't. But I did genuinely enjoy playing through FFX-2 and the differences it had from the first game. For example, the Via Infinito was one of my favorite add-ons that was exclusive to FFX-2, I did not like the Luctyl tower in FFX-2 however. I guess I just appreciated that the developers did not try to replicate FFX, and instead took FFX-2 in a different direction. 😊
First, sex will now be called, "making a fayth". Beckoning really does negate everything that happened in X. I'm not even going to acknowledge "Will". I prefer to not get a migraine. As much as I love FFX, another sequel will just destroy it. I wouldn't mind a prequel that delves more into the story of the original summoners, faith, aeons, Auron, Braska, etc. I haven't had much love for anything put out since X. I really liked XII, though. I hate XV. I hate the idea of DLCs in a game like FF. It feels like X-III would be beating a dead horse.
@DeadMemes NeedToStayDead It's just a personal preference. I play other games that have DLCs, but it doesn't work when the only way to truly flesh out the storyline is to pay more money.
To be honest I am happy with how X-2 ended, and the Audio Drama just left me unsettled. Plus that girl that claimed to be Auron's child also sat wrong with me cause I admire Auron very highly and this is also seems to be an buttpull from Enix, cause I doubt a dead guy can reproduce. Plus he spent a lot of his time jumping back and forth between Spira and Dream Zanarkand, so I am not sure IF he could WHEN he would of had time for that. Just almost everything about that drama piece unsettled me, even the idea that Seymour could come back, and retconning Sin's final defeat for eternity. Also it really did make me upset that Yuna drifted away from Tidus, as at the time-and currently- they are my favorite canon ship in the Final Fantasy world, well I guess they aren't canon anymore....But still I get the Novella but the Will thing just...No I cannot really accept it even though, as you said they are canon whether I like it or not. But, I agree X-3 currently does not need to happen, X-2 was a good enough end, heck even though X hurt it was a perfect end as well. Edit: Sorry for long rant, I also share a strong love for this game and it tends to manifest in rage that things are done to, in my opinion, has crapped on the story.
I can believe in Auron's daughter since in one of the Spheres that you get it's revealed Auron was a shamed monk for refusing the hand of a priest's daughter - perhaps because he had someone else he loved. It explains why her mother is killed since the temple didn't like the fact that Auron didn't comply with them and that happened before Auron went on Braska's pilgrimage aka before he died. Also, you call YOURS a rant? My ranting skills are superior and they still tolerate me on this channel so you're doing fine :)
The little Audio story made me very unsettled as well. First off, Tidus' name pronunciation gets me every time😭😂 secondly, I really don't like how his and Yuna's relationship seems to turn out... and Sin coming back? Just hurts my heart xC
I've been wanting a full FIFA-style Blitzball game since I played Blitz the first time in my first playthrough. I'm probably the only one but damn I loved it. Even X-2's rendition was brilliant.
I confess, I hated X-2's Blitzball version. It is more 'Blitzball Manager' than the actual game. But, then, I absolutely LOVE Blitzball in FFX, I have spent so many hours on it, and I'm ridiculously proud of my playthrough where I won every single game - yes, even the horrific first game when the Aurochs faced the Luca total-ratbags! :)
If it does get made I doubt the story will be good. On the off chance it is, I hope the Combat System is better than X-2's. I never "felt strong" in that game. And I agree 10000% That "Beckoning" bullshit seems like a BAD plot device.
@Lain By who? Crack heads? I don't know a SINGLE person that would take X-2's Combat System over X's. You can like it, but let's not kid ourselves. I think that game is the weakest the protagonists can get outside of the Creature Creator.
@@BlackWingedSeraphX Uhh being/feeling overpowered =/= a better "combat system". I have no idea what you're otherwise trying to argue. It's down to the actual mechanics and flow of gameplay (and level of control/strategy). X-2 is literally just FF ATB (pre-FFX) in its best form. If anything, FFX-2 felt too easy given the tools you have access to... not the opposite. Being overpowered is not good gameplay as it can arguably make it redundant. Of course, X-2's attacks/combat could have felt more weight-y and climatic at times, but that has nothing to do with the actual gameplay/mechanics. I've got nothing against X itself though as it valued strategy more than anything else (even if it itself was often either too easy and/or lost a lot of depth after min/maxing your party -- it could have been a lot better as far as those things are concerned).
@Lain universally? I've only gotten through ffx2 once, and have tried multiple times. The combat is weird and the constant upbeat music in the background makes me wanna pull my hair out
Honestly I’m not a fan of the whole “beckoning” thing though I do find the idea of their being more advanced mechanics for summoning in the past interesting after a lot of history was lost to Spira after the war. Though I have to agree with @Lain here. The combat in X-2 has to be my favourite tied with V’s, with 2 and 13/13-2 being my least favourite.
@DeadMemes NeedToStayDead FFX did not require any grinding to beat the game, like most FF main games. Also, fun is very subjective. An average turn based rpg is more fun than an average action rpg to me.
I hope that Persona 5 sparks the interest that turn-based RPGs can still be triple-A hits this generation. All of the FFX games have been turn based, even the last mission. IF FFX-3 or FFX-0 ends up happening, it really should stay faithful to it's legacy. One can dream.
Damnit I had erased the novella and audio drama from my memory and you brought it back. Personally, I really liked the gameplay and mood of FFXV and I never even bothered with the DLCs, but I can see the reasons for people disliking it.
If they do it right, sure. But square enix hasn't been able to do a single FF right lately so.. no. But I would like some sort of prequel. Either with braska or even longer back in the story. Sequels are a bad idea for this game.
I don't think we need another one. Tbh, I'm the type of person that would rather not even include the novella. I'd rather just pretend it doesn't exist and stick with the story of x-2 ending with Tidus coming back and they are both happy together. The end. Lol
I wonder why they, having such a wonderful and obviously beloved story at their disposal, decided to still make up new things. Something like Braska's journey would have been perfect for a "minor" medium spin-off like they decided on, being somewhat repetetive, another summoner's journey, but would have allowed the writers to focus on things we didn't see in X while being able to rely on us knowing about how a summoner's journey in the world of Spira works, what it means, and so on. Also, they could have given us something on Seymour's backstory for example, a prominent and highly interesting character who is even hinted at to have had his troubles in the past. And if they wanted to go for something we haven't really seen before, why not give us something on the Great War between Bevelle and Zanarkand, you could make a whole game on this. We already know some characters, so they already had something to catch us FFX-Fans on. But what they did, just trying to make up new rules, new characters, and changing old established characters in a way that contradicts their thoroughly built behaviour, morality and values, not even mentioning introducing new metaphysical rules to an already fully fledged world, was not just a bad idea, it was an *absolutely forseeable* bad idea. Literally everyone I ever heard talking about the post X-2 products absolutely hates them to an extend as to seeing them as an insult to their beloved story and characters. I would love to see an FFX-3 with the good old gameplay, turn-based style, a new take on the sphere grid, and a compelling story that just straight out ignores everything that came after X-2. But I very much doubt this is ever going to happen, unfortunately, unless as the largest fan-made project the world has ever seen. Which again, isn't going to happen. Sadly.
I remember when I heard the audio drama for the first time, I was just thinking how dumb the whole scenario was, and I was thinking "surely it must end soon?" but nope, I was less than ten minutes in and the whole thing is like half an hour. It felt like I was listening to an incredibly long-winded fanfic. Also I didn't even know about the novella, was it in a physical form within the case? Because I don't remember seeing it on steam.
@@porkeyminch8044 Ya they never released an english copy so the best we can get is the translated summed up version on Wiki. It was created by the writer of X and X-2 so it is supposed canon..even though 90% of the people don't want it to be, including myself.
FFX has so many amazing tracks. If I'm studying I'll usually put on a soundtrack about the length of how long I plan to study for, and FFX is what I use to fill 4~5 hours.
It should be a prequel to FFX which shows how Lord Braska, Auron and Jecht initially meet up and defeat Sin, and how that timeline ultimately influences the game that we all love, plus X2 sequel.
I need you to know I got the notification for this video when i was out at dinner with 5 other FF fans so the title was like "oh that's what we're gonna do today? we're gonna fight?" lmao I agree with pretty much everything you've said ESPECIALLY about the prequel part!!! I've thought a lot about it and I think it could make a nice parallel to x-2 if done in a similar way with the 3 party members. I'd love to know more about that part of the story too
Lol lost it on the "seymour can beckon himself back." He's already so much of a stalker in ffx with the power to beckon who knows how much you'd have to fight him. Nice vid. I agree w/ all ur thoughts. Though I luv the ffx story I'm not sure about how I feel about a ffx3 bc of everything u said which r like all the same reasons why I'm not really onboard for a sequel. Just maybe a prequel but even that's not needed. I tend to ignore the lore after ffx 2 bc it's pretty nuts and in ffx 2 the story's already been resolved.
Currently playing FFX on myu channel, and tbh I got goosebumps watching this video. I hope Yuna can summon again. would be so dope to see it in updated graphics
And after 4 years of your video, there is still no news about X-3. I also agree that that beckoning thing and that sin comeback kinda ruined some experiences from X, because then all people are free to beckon dead people they want as long as they have this "strong will". Also, it feels really weird when Tidus has just got resurrected but then die easily (well maybe if it's a comedy focused story, it'd be different, like certain anime..but I don't think Final Fantasy games especially X is comedy focused). So yeah, for now, I'll also just consider that the Novel and the Audio Drama didn't exist. The X story ends in X-2 good ending.
Remember, Jyscal Guado managed to force his way through the barrier to the farplane. Seymour as being part guado might know a way to force himself out, and before he was sent, he was insane and was partially merged with Sin and wanted to become one with Sin. I believe Seymour broke some sort of barrier to the farplane, letting farplane energy flow into the world. Normally, beconing would only create an image of the person you strongly wish for, and only the beconer can hear the voice of the one they're wishing back. But with the farplane energy leaking out into the world ,makes the images become physical and able to interract with everything. Yuna being a summoner was able to bring force a stronger vertion of a beconed image of Tidus. Also, for the ending of FFX-2: The faith all went together to dream up Tidus again. The strain of dreaming 1 person is far less than Sin and a whole city full of people. And what's a few more years of very light dreaming compared to the tousand year heavy dreaming they've already done? But due to this being such a light dream for them, they won't notice if Tidus would be killed and they just slump into their eternal rest.
Tidus is the main protagonist of any and all installments of FFX. Yes, Yuna was the primary protagonist of FFX-2, but the whole concept and reason for FFX-2, simply was Tidus, and finding a way to see if he could be reanimated back into the reality of Spira. Simply killing him off, making him weak, or making drastic changes to his character (whom we came to know and love), after all of what he had gone through in the past, makes the novella, audio drama, and X-3 idea, pointless. Now, I believe that Yuna was truly warding Tidus off to protect him, for she truly and deeply loved him and after witnessing his disappearance from back at the end of FFX (which I believe was a serious plot hole in the script of FFX), she is willing at any time, to make sure nothing ever happens to him, again. It's as if she's his guardian/lover, now. I also feel that the idea of the return of Sin, is redundant. I can't find any reason as to what the significance of Sin being back would be. There's nothing memorable about Sin that would pique my interest with the idea of it, returning. A huge flying whale-like monstrosity with dangerously powerful blasts, that doesn't do anything else, other than decimate villiages and people. The only reason Sin was interesting was because of Jecht and maybe Yu Yevon. Sin being back, it would basically be FFX, all over again. Even FFX-2 had a fresh, new threat in Vegnagun. This "beckoning" deal trivializes the concept of death far worse than Dragon Ball Z, and that was done enough, in FFX-2. If someone can beckon Sin back, anyone can do it, and Sin will always be around. It defeats the whole purpose of FFX, and one thing about FF games, is that they're "once and for all" end all, be all games. You don't see Zeromus, Necron, Safer Sephiroth (to name a few), making returns in sequel games.
Hey @dansg08. I enjoy your videos. Do you have any video summarizing ffx-2? I have a hard time playing it but wanna understand the lore. I’m also very busy with school. Gonna watch this vid tonight before bed. Thanks man!
I agree wholeheartedly with you. FFX has such a great legacy and it was one of the few games that actually changed my personality and way of thinking. I don’t count FFX-2 as canon let alone a soapy audio drama. Even a prequel will be absolutely unnecessary because it will just destroy so many of the mystique of the FFX lore and story. I understand how nostalgia can work so strong with fans, but it’s a fools errand to expect a very solid reliving of the story that will be as good as the original.
I don't know about that novella story to convoluted for me and I've played Ff 13-3 lol but would play 10-3 if it was a different story from another timeline like maybe an original sin prequal or present day adventure don't think it will happen or if we even need it.
My theory of how sin returns is like this someone brings seymour back then seymour brings yu yevon back then he turns himself into a fayth and bonds with yu yevon making sin
:-O Oh that would be fun (NOT!) Kicking Seymour's arse as an aeon lol After EVERY time they fought Seymour, I was screaming at the screen "SEND HIM YUNA!!!!" lol but she doesn't until the end. Knowing her - if they did make a sequel where he was beckoned and made into an aeon, she'd still f* around and not send him so there would be another 15 battles w/ Seymour then hahaha
I find that unlikely since even trummel the most devoted Seymour follower was like dear god what on earth did we do. Why did we not see reason and ignore Seymour.
Just no, i never listen to audio ,novel or whatever... X have good ending and no loose end, X-2 gave you aftermath infact i always consider it as epilouge, please dont ruin it squareenix...
I am with you on this on. Though I loved both loved both X and X-2 I don’t think I can handle another another one. I thought the story had tooooo many plot holes and was poorly written. If they are gonna give us an X-3 it has to be great.
Look at Star Wars. New content doesnt mean its good content. It has to be made by a smart and passionate set of writers who know how to properly craft a great story
Robert Zumwalt Sometimes a story is supposed to remain closed. Look at KH3. KH2 had a true ending but they brought it back to milk its legacy and its all just a big jumbled fan service mess. And the remastereds arent milking cause its just offering the same game onto new platforms. Ive already maxed stats all my characters in one month on the Xbox one X. Currently farming Yojimbo to prepare for Penance. PS I havent even finished the campaign for FFX on the One yet but Ive already completed FFX-2 😂
Yea I'm replaying x right now and I'm stuck at the monsters at mt. Gagazet cuz I didn't have the speed spheres and I was out or the strength spheres plus I don't have hastega yet I want to grind but I'm just getting my ads kicked before the 3rd seymour fight lol
where would i even begin when it comes to my feelings about where "the franchise", as berk calls it, is going? i'm in the same boat, and frankly i'm terrified at what *might* happen. ffx was such a wonderful story on its own; there was fantastic world building, and deep themes like death, religion, sacrifice, and integrity. ffx-2 is okay in terms of game play, but for me the plot was a step away from the foundation that ffx built. that said, okay, fine, the end was decent enough. time to wrap it up. oh, we can't have that either, can we? please squeenix, for the love of all that's good and right and auron, please do not try and squeeze blood from this turnip. this particular turnip has run dry, and anything else you attempt with this franchise will only dilute what is left. this is all my opinion as of now, though, based on what's out there. my mind could be changed, much like berk's, depending on any future information. frankly if squeenix wants an injection of money give us the braska, jecht, and auron game we all clamor for.
I did not know the Novella and audio drama existed either until I saw this video. I am in the camp of, if they made a game in the Universe of FFX, I'd like a prequel. Braska's journey, of course. I don't think it went over badly when they did Crisis Core. Although that game did make me appreciate Zack and end up slightly agitated by Cloud lol but that's going off the topic's rails. I mean, we do know roughly what happens thanks to the Spheres scattered about in X, but that's on the same level. We knew Zack's fate going into Crisis Core, but that didn't detract at all. It let us see new angles and learn more. Well anyway, that's where I stand on it. Based off what you've said here about the 2.5, I don't think I want any part of it. X-2 was good enough an ending.
Everyone would love a prequel i feel. Anything that adds to FFX. Any summoner's journey would be captivating and somewhat nostalgic, it don;t even need to be Braska. But i would like it be someone with a relevant relationship to the main cast of FFX.
final fantasy x started out as a naive Tidus (player) As we progressed through the game, we understanded the story completed. FFX-2 is kind of like a sequel like for Maechan. We know Maechan was the person that was in the 2nd sphere that shook the hand of the summoner that resembles Yuna. Maechan was a real person living in Zanlarkand. He is a Unsent during FFX and FFX-2 because he didn't want to go to the farplane.
X-2 was enough. It was a great ending to a unique love story. But since they released the X-2.5 story, they opened a Pandora's Box which makes a part of the fan base crave for closure. I really hope that they do make an X-3 with a happy ending. Something like a rekindled love between Yuna and Tidus. I may be a hopeless romantic but I hope this love story, if done, has a happy ending. P.S. im still waiting for square enix to make a stand alone blitzball game as well as a mobile Triple triad game. I hope there are some in the fan base who are on my side
I agree. Tidus and Yuna had been through so much that couldn't tear them apart. I cannot see a conflict that would separate them from the great ending they deserved.
FFX is and will always be my favourite FF of all time, however I did like X-2 and I have major reservations about a third, however yet again if they could nail it, it could work. I actually wrote an assignment piece on my thoughts of a 3, including a plot that could finish off in its entirety. I would also hint towards the idea of the connected 7, 10, 12 and 15 universe (My I add that these are all my favourites, well slightly disregarding 12 a little bit). I broke it up into 5 parts; opening, start of plot, end of initial plot/twist, end of secondary plot, epilogue. This is a brief description. I would discount the audio drama and I’m still on the fence about the novella. Obviously there is a lot more, this is just a point by point. Opening: Tidus and Yuna’s wedding day, everything seems to be ok but the a group of Guado “Assailants” attack. Before anything bad can happen, a cluster of Pyreflies create a ghost that speaks in a familiar voice. Not knowing who it is, Tidus runs and attacks the ghost and the pyreflies disperse and swarm the guado assailants and transforms them into “Pyre-Shades” (I brainstormed multiple names, that was the least anime-y). After fighting, one of the guado claim that they were forced by some kind of cult. The original protagonists decide to investigate. Start of Plot: After making their way to the Guado city (Name of which escapes me), they see it decimated, basically ruins, they run to the entrance to the farplane only to see it blocked by a weird mass of crystallised bodies like the wall near Zanarkand. A strange priest appears claiming that “The Forsaken Soul” needs to be captured. After a first boss fight, they fight their way out of the city only to be met by the Pyrefly ghost, it simply drops a staff, Seymour’s, which spawns a Dark Aeon. After fighting it, Yuna finds out it she can purify it. The Aeon “talks” to the group claiming that to “weaken the Betrayer”, they must purify the Dark Aeons. End of Initial Plot/Twist: After purifying 1 more Dark Aeon and searching some Cultist sites, the “Ghost” starts to form into a human-ish form, it the brings back a corrupted form of Ifrit, after the fight, they get blasted back to the coast where the joint Al-bed and church attack happened. Dark Ifrit then gets absorbed, forcibly, by the “Ghost”, which reveals itself to be Seymour, in a more human form (Now the next part is kind of a mind fuck so stay with me). He reveals that when he was killed (For a second time, after being unsent), he was sent to Genova, who taught him to manipulate life force energy (Ties in 7). He claims that to stop an impending doomsday, that he fused Pyreflies with Negative Life Energy (After Energy, least anime-y of the ideas) to create a “Pyrefly Core” or “Hivemind”. Anyway, Mid-game boss fight happens and all of the party gets blown to the original Zanarkand, the real one back when it was not ruins. End of Secondary Plot: After discovering that the city is empty, they walk to the Blitzball stadium to see that the spirit of Yu Yevon still remains however he isn’t evil, he tells the group that Seymour plans to become a new version of Sin, by using the summoning power of the Dark versions of the original Aeons and the remaining fayth energy that remains in Tidus Epilogue: Yu Yevon sends Tidus and Co to Seymour’s cult, after fighting their way through, they come across Seymour, midway through being fused with the Dark Original Aeons, however Yuna, using the newly acquired Aeons (Based off of Leviathan and Titan) calls the Originals to her side, effectively causing the dark versions to split, into the light and dark versions. In order to stop Seymour from claiming partial godhood, the Besaid Aeon and Yojimbo, sacrifice themselves to cut Seymour off from his followers, a final boss fight begins. After the fight and Seymour is defeated, the remain Aeons, Ifrit, Shiva, Titan, Leviathan and Behemet disappear, claiming that they will return when needed (The story from 15). I know it may not be the greatest but it’s the best way I could think of an ending. As well as finally connecting the common idea that 7, 10, 12, and 15 are connected.
An X-3 so many years later. Thats an interesting premise. There are no other FF games that have the beautiful aquatic pacific theme that X does so I think it would look beautiful in modern graphics and I just adore the X universe in general. I would be purely buzzing for a X-3 if they can come up with a great idea for it.
The most absurd bit is that Tidus who survived Omega, dark aeons, arena's monstrosities, Penance, many encounters with Sin, falling from a broken frozen surface, going thro danger after danger throughout Spira, would die by a bomb in the form of a blitzball
If it's made I would want it to be a prequel telling of the events of Braska Jecht Auron and what it was like during the great war involving bevelle. However I'm not gonna lose any sleep if its not made FFX is my fave FF and probably always will be
The first game was complete in itself but having Yuna come back to deal with the aftermath of the first game and get reunited with her love isn't bad. I don't want a continuation of the story because there isn't any without trashing what we already have.
If X-3 does happen likely I will consider it if it’s for a console I currently own but then & only then. I would want to see a trailer of X-3 first before deciding that much when it comes even then.
I’m lucky as it is that the remastered version of X & X-2 came to the Nintendo Switch as it is (I do not own a current Xbox one or PlayStation 4 console). Currently playing through X on Nintendo Switch. So I dunno unless Nintendo somehow gets X-3 when & if it comes to be likely I won’t be able to get it anyway unless there is a Nintendo Switch release.
That novella sounds like it's clutching massively at VERY small straws, and the audio drama was just awful. I personally would've preferred if X-2 was never made, but I also get that games are big businesses and Square probably knew that X has such a massive fanbase and decided to rinse if for as much as they could. Once again great vid Berk, all bases covered beautifully and always interesting to hear your thoughts.
I love Spira, and would love to visit it again, but the mark of a good series is being okay with it being over. I didn't even need X-2 even if I loved it lol, but that was meant to be silly fun so it worked. Every other thing they've done seriously after X made it worse. X was complete as it was. It needs nothing.
I agree 100%! I hope if Square Enix does decide to do anything more with the series that they really take into account fan input. The majority of X fans hated the novella and audio drama. If they want a successful sequel they have to listen to criticism.
The audio drama always reminded me off that pocahontas sequel were Pocahontas just ups and suddenly forgets about the blonde guy, her thing in the first movie, and fall in love with this other royalty man. Always thought that was an awkward thing to do. This is no exception
If there's like a killer story that someone came up with and there was passion behind the project, I'd be all for it. Passion and hardwork is what gives us fantastic games like Deus Ex. If Square Enix is just looking to make a sequel because "we need more money", why bother? Hell, why not make a FF15-2? You've got plenty of assets left over from that game. And I feel like people would care less if that one was milked to death, like FF13 was.
I would like FFX-3 to be about investigating the Beckoning phenomenon, what happened to Yuna's state after the journeys in FFX-2.5 & Will (?), and instability of the Farplane, with Rikku in the lead. Sin may be back, but it would not be the main antagonist. A new villain should be its place. I would like to see this villain as a cause of Besaid island trip, beckoning phenomenon, and instability of Farplane by exploiting the weakness caused by Vegnagun's absorption of Farplane's energies.
If they wanted the whole beckoning thing to be real they could make an X-3 where the Guado bring Seymour back and he’s the main villain. Doesn’t need to happen but if they wanted a money grab I’d probably play it
The beckoning spit is a huge Pandora's Box. Like you said, if someone beckons back sin or Yu-Yevon or whomever. Than fuck it we will beckon back essentially every high summoner and their guardians and run over them. But a story where Tidus and Yuna relationship struggles do to the pain Yuna suffered loosing him the first time and maybe show her having some paranoia of him disappearing again. The small rift grows and grows and pushes them apart and they go their separate ways. Both move on and fall in love with others etc etc. Introduce bad guy, maybe he is talking about this new "beckoning" which will allow him to call back...some big bad from the past. Yuna is told by Rikku and plot goes from there ending with Tidus and Yuna coming back together from their attempt to re-save the world. Even just a book, I would like to see something like that but it is overdone story wise. And make it with the FFX combat style, loved the turn base battle system and sphere grid.
Things I would like: ~X's Combat System ~Rikku returning/being playable ~We coul get Wakka and Lulu's son to replace them ~I think they should make Brother playable, with his real name, a different hairstyle, and an Axe for a weapon ~Good story, not just that "Beckoning" bullshit. ~Sin destroyed once and for all and the source of the pyreflies delt with.
Well said. Agreed with a majority of what Berk said. I still want to see Spira with today's tech/graphics though. Wasn't it confirmed that X universe in connected to VII in a way? Could just pull a DQXI.
I love ffx was such a good game was my first ff game to ever play. So if a 3 come out of course I'll see it and give it a chance before I decide. I love SE they never would do something to disappoint fans on purpose.
The summoner Johit, basically explains why Yu-Yevon was able to do what he did. I don't know how you think its mental gymnastics when its a concept from the original game. I mean the final Aeon was explained in 2.5, how a summoner created Aeon cores. Kush wasn't even a guardian, she was a summoner. She had no intention of becoming an Aeon core. If you read the novella, its Bria the guardian who wanted to become the Aeon Core. But her love for Bria led her to Johit, and she become an Aeon Core (beckoning) so that Bria could live. So the Beckoning is the final Aeon. And as Johit explained, Summoners were actually the ones who created fayths. Not go to temples to pray to link with a fayth. Thats why the Final Aeon is the strongest, since its a direct result of the bond the two share "guardian and summoner". So Yuna essentially has the ability to create fayths. Ofc its not going to be the same journey as the original game, nor the same process. IT will be a new cast of characters, probably Chuami and her crew. Yuna could be like Anakin in Star wars. We saw her good side, now with new powers she drifts to the other side, and Chuami and her crew have to stop her, to save Spira? And Tidus very existence now depends on Yuna in every way. Just like with the fayth that dreamt up zanarkand, and by extension, tidus. When the summoning stops, he will disappear. I say this because Yuna essentially summoned Tidus.
Hey Berk any plans to do a video on Square Enix would love to know your thoughts on why the development of Final Fantasy games has been such a problem? What does the future hold for Final Fantasy? And weather you believe they are capable of making another great FF game? Also as you stated in your video why do you think Square Enix was able to produce so many Final Fantasy games between the years 1997-2006 and then proceed to release only three in the next decade is it merely just a case of development or something more concerning such as a lack of ideas or execution. Would love to know your thoughts because I don't remember seeing a video on which side of the fence you sit on regarding your opinions of the company. Thanks

i notice u mispronouce Tidus' name, like i cant talk cause i did that for the longest time and honestly i think that way sounds better but the actual pronouciation is Tee Dus
oh i love your content BTW you helped me find so much hidden content in X, your walkthrough is really all you need for the game
i want ffx 3
I want pre X, takes place around Jetch and Young Auron
I would rather have an "X-0" that follows Jecht, Auron, and Braska on their journey.
Been saying this
Agree
I don't think they can make anything substantial out of that. The story of Jecht, Auron and Braska was already told in FFX, we know how it started and how it ended, we know their motivations and feelings during the journey, so I don't think they can create a full videogame without being mostly filler.
At most, a small videogame with an action combat mechanic, so it doesn't become repetitive since Jech and Braska would fulfill similar roles in battle as TIdus and Yuna, and we've already controlled Auron.
@@astrius4125 yeah there wouldn’t be enough for a full fledged game.
We already knows what happens though.
A better prequel would be one that takes place over a thousand years ago during the height of the Machina War.
I'd take a Final Fantasy X-3 if it were based on the war between Bevelle and Zanarkand that led to the birth of Sin and the Spiral of Death in Spira.
It should be called FFX-0 if so
Now that I could get behind!
Or it could be the story of trio braska, jecht, auron. If they can make it like crisis core, they'll get my approval.
@@thearrowclipper I don't know. I feel like that story was explored well enough through the Jecht Spheres in FFX.
@@thuggins2086 it did explored really well within the jecth sphere but watching jecht's growth from an asshole into good daddy directly kinda tingles my lil heart. Thou we all knew it gonna ends up bad like how zack did
The novel seems like bad fan fiction
They kill tidus early only to spend ages trying to unkill him
But that's the beauty of FF games, they write every game like it's their last
@@jiyefuuu I believe that's why they call it Final Fantasy .. I'm pretty sure that the original Final Fantasy game was destined to be the final game for the company, but it was their redeeming game that saved everything.
that's exactly what it sounded like lawls, bad fan fiction. oh god it hurt to hear some of that
whoever wrote the novella should be shot, if they made a new game based on that i would never play it
I bet none of you could write a good sequal to ffx2 so why critize when u cannot come up with a good plot either?.
I dont want X-3.
What I do want is a FF that has the combat of X
I always think the same for XIII-2 lol
Right ? I am not a fast-thinker in games so I've always felt rather intimidated by relatively fast-paced ATB system, even though it does feel really good once you master and get used to it, so X's combat system was perfect for me haha
Too bad they are moving towards more real time actions when it comes to battles these days, so I've recently been getting my fix for that combat style via Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia.. While it *is* a spinoff (not to mention mobile and has the gacha system), it has some solid story and nostalgia factors as well as great character interactions, and it has FF X's combat style too ! Game has been pretty F2P friendly also so far, I'd say it's one of, if not their best mobile titles :D
Agreed.
Imagine if FFXV had FFX combat instead of that random spammy chaotic bullshit, it would be second best Final in the series. By far.
Personally, x-2 ended great for me, If we get a X-3, I'd prefer it NOT based off of the audio clips from x2
If they break up Tidus and Yuna, no buy from me. Period.
garrett1433
Chuami was the type of girl that would be so triggered, she’d get a gender studies degree.
How about a game that covers Braska Auron and Jecht’s journey
@@KINFIN123 Boring shit. You already know how it starts, how it ends and even a few steps to there. Would be nothing more than a cashgrab cowmilk machine. And you know what? I don't want any more of that atrocites they've been coming up with ever since 13, 15, 7 remake and the stupid devil may kingdom hearts of shit they're working on right now. I don't want it to finance more diarrhea.
@@sirlezard670 you’re right but I pray to god you haven’t been stupid enough to buy those cash grab games
current square can't handle a standalone RPG (rip ff15 story), let alone the sequel to one of the most beloved entries (rip kh3 story).
please for the love of yevon no, just remake every final fantasy ever over the next 20 years. square lives off the past glory, just keep doing that and don't fuck with anything.
I can tell you know what's up lol
i had no idea about the novella and the audio drama until watching this video. maybe they could officially denounce both as cannon...retcon it all. but unless they come up with a real solid story, and as much as I would like to see more of the FFX characters....i think it's done. 10-2 has a solid satisfiable ending.
I agree. I felt the additional materials cheapened an already resolved story. I personally don't consider the audio drama and novella cannon.
ffx-2 wrapped up spira's story so well. if ffx-3 does happen, it needs to be a prequel either based on the machina war or braska's pilgrimage, or maybe something different.
like a story connecting FFX to FFVII with the origins of jenova and showing how an alien that can consume an afterlife is way more dangerous than Sin.
Based on Tidus x Yuna breaking up! 😂 that’s what Square wants after all. 🤷♀️
i feel like we already seen a lot of braska's journey.
I've intentionally kept my knowledge of the 2013 content limited to it's existence; for good reasons it appears.
I heard x-3 was gonna have Sin come back and Tidus and Yuna separate and that’s why I say NO! I don’t want this!
sin returning is the number one reason i don't want that. better that they come up with a new villian.
@@theimortal1974 Yu Yevon may have survived, who knows
Square Enix does XD
I agree with you man! You may as well just play Final Fantasy X again. Whether you didn’t like Final Fantasy VII Remake, that is better then this BS.
I would much much rather have sin return-- Jecht final aeon and all-- than having Tidus die or T/Y split up after 2 games essentially dedicated to them being together and taking tremendous pains to bring Tidus back to life
But both are such an "easy way out" approach that demolishes the entire story that precedes it
I played FFX with my big bro when it first came out for countless hours.
The breakup is to protect Tidus from finding out he is a beckoning. The love is real. But still ruined by Sin coming back
I feel the same way man.
Should it happen? No. Does Yuna look damn cute in that new design? Yes
Cute?
She HOT.. MATE. As for Tidus OMG he really do look a bit like his father (NO HOMO)
as much as I love X and even X-2 I think the ending where Yuna declines the offer to resurrect Tidus is the best ending. it fits the themes of X and overall I think it's a very final way to end the story.
I still feel happy seeing them reunited but I think should be more of an alternate happy ending.
Final Fantasy X-3 would be like Season 8 of GoT. Destroying everything you loved so far, and change characters like a bad fanfic.
That's a terrible show in general.
FF X-2 it was garbage imagine what would be a X-3.
@@ethanayala9955 yeah bro if you liked FF X-2 good for you but this game wasn't what i expected.
Thanks for summarizing Berk’s video lol
@@hw3283 I didn't get to watch all of it. Storms hit, and I lost signal.
@DeadMemes NeedToStayDead It's just a personal preference. I play other games that have DLCs, but it doesn't work when the only way to truly flesh out the storyline is to pay more money.
and then another key important factor for an X3 is the combat system and how that is going to work
i think it could work but they have to do it the right way and make it special
He could have had a kid before he died
The ending of x2 belittles the sacrifice tidus made at the end of x. Making a fayth to bring tidus back is morally bankrupt and selfish of yuna to do.
I have the same thoughts. It's my favorite FF game of all time and Square can honestly not make great stories for their games anymore
@@maggiebrinkley4760 I went to 4 overtimes before finally winning. Lol

Brandon J Larry Gaming Before that can we have VI, IX and maybe VIII remake first after VII remake lol
All the have to do is just update the graphics, remaking the entire game is stupid
Yesssss
For a game as old as X is, it still looks fantastic. To remake it in a new engine would be such a waste of time and resources
That's a dumb suggestion. FFX remastered already looks great and plays great. It's not outdated whatsoever.
The combat is weird and the constant upbeat music in the background makes me wanna pull my hair out
@@BlackWingedSeraphX Since when being overpowered make a combat system good LMAO.
This is why they should make a FFX-0 with Yunas father's journey
Yes!! That's what I was thinking!
@bd3n21 ffx3 and ffx0 would be a great idea but they have to do it right
The only thing 100% sure is if there is an FFX-3, it will be an action-rpg...
Adventure-Horror actually
@DeadMemes NeedToStayDead FFX did not require any grinding to beat the game, like most FF main games. Also, fun is very subjective. An average turn based rpg is more fun than an average action rpg to me.
Unfortunately
I hope that Persona 5 sparks the interest that turn-based RPGs can still be triple-A hits this generation. All of the FFX games have been turn based, even the last mission. IF FFX-3 or FFX-0 ends up happening, it really should stay faithful to it's legacy. One can dream.
@DeadMemes NeedToStayDead I never got killed once in FFXV. that game is a joke. Just press X and you good to go. No skill.
FFX-3 should be Kimahri focused. Guy is so underrated with much much potential, which was never really used.
Isn't the Novella a fanfic they accidentally printed?
That was a parody article that said that
I've always wanted a game about Braska, Auron and jecht and their pilgrimage
I think Final Fantasy X and X-2 is enough imo
I wouldn't mind getting a prequel with Braska's pilgrimage.
It’s sad, but you make great points Berk. It’s nice to hear the opinion of the biggest FFX youtuber on a possible FFX-3
It should happen and it should be about Braskas pilgrimage. Just imagine a game starting with Braska visiting Jeckt in prison. Pure gold
or what about playing as jecht starting with him on dream zanarkand as he moves to the real world.
The nostalgia of the track playing in the back round. Almost want to shed a tear.
Damnit I had erased the novella and audio drama from my memory and you brought it back. Personally, I really liked the gameplay and mood of FFXV and I never even bothered with the DLCs, but I can see the reasons for people disliking it.
I thought XV's story was good 🤷
If they do it right, sure.
The end. Lol
If FFX-3 exist, it should be based on the child of Tidus and Yuna, and the child of Wakka and Lulu.
I would love to have a game on the journey of braska, that would be cool
I'd much prefer to see a FFX full-on remake than FFX-3.
Ixi'kweez facts
Please no, we already had too much with X-2
Let the characters be happy for god's sake.
Sadly.
Güntlisberger facts dude. I really wish a prequel would happen.
Oh, so it was released alongside FFX HD. That makes more sense.
@@porkeyminch8044 Ya they never released an english copy so the best we can get is the translated summed up version on Wiki. It was created by the writer of X and X-2 so it is supposed canon..even though 90% of the people don't want it to be, including myself.
Of course you open with "Calm Before The Storm" cause it's the best FF song EVER YES YES TY BYE
FFX has so many amazing tracks. If I'm studying I'll usually put on a soundtrack about the length of how long I plan to study for, and FFX is what I use to fill 4~5 hours.
Totally agree. Its my favourite track on the ffx ost.
It should be a prequel to FFX which shows how Lord Braska, Auron and Jecht initially meet up and defeat Sin, and how that timeline ultimately influences the game that we all love, plus X2 sequel.
I need you to know I got the notification for this video when i was out at dinner with 5 other FF fans so the title was like "oh that's what we're gonna do today? we're gonna fight?" lmao
I agree with pretty much everything you've said ESPECIALLY about the prequel part!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they came out and said that both the novella and audio drama were not cannon
The Will audio seems to me like a very terrible execution to end FFX.
I’m sold by your opinions Berk!
Here, take my cookies.
Thanks man!
Their are other channel explaining it or use wiki
john lawful oh, I just I like dansg08 voice
I agree wholeheartedly with you. FFX has such a great legacy and it was one of the few games that actually changed my personality and way of thinking. I don’t count FFX-2 as canon let alone a soapy audio drama. Even a prequel will be absolutely unnecessary because it will just destroy so many of the mystique of the FFX lore and story. I understand how nostalgia can work so strong with fans, but it’s a fools errand to expect a very solid reliving of the story that will be as good as the original.
imagine they made it and imagine it was good... holy heck
Like FF7R, they know they can't afford to fuck up FFX3
That cute Al Bhed girl character in the new FFX ASMR roleplay should be in X-3 as bestgirl
Rather than a game, I'd love for them to make some sort of anime of FFX like the did with FFVII Advent Children
Nice video, it seem that i am not the only one to think like that about a ffX-3.
Well we already got x-2 to spoil the masterpiece that was X ..might as well make it a trilogy right! 😄
.. I'm all for it 😉👍
STAY AWAY FROM THE SUMMONER!!! YOU'RE A BAD MAN!!!!
I think it should happen for 2 reasons and they are I love ffx and ffx-2 and I love the storyline
I like it too, but sometimes milking something makes it WORSE.
Look at Star Wars. New content doesnt mean its good content. It has to be made by a smart and passionate set of writers who know how to properly craft a great story
But they haven't really done anything with ffx since x-2 minus the remastered if you count that has milking the game
Love the thoughts videos. Very interesting.
Ive always wanted a prequel game to FFX. Imagine being Jecht and Auron taking Yunas father on the pilgrimage...
I would rather have a Final Fantasy 8-2 (or zero) where we play as Laguna.
Or fuck it, FF9-2 or FF12-2. See how Gaia and Ivalice are doing...
IMHO, if they make a FFX-3, it will be about the original war , the final aeon, the rise of Yevon and how they erased history. I hope.
Everyone would love a prequel i feel. Anything that adds to FFX. Any summoner's journey would be captivating and somewhat nostalgic, it don;t even need to be Braska. But i would like it be someone with a relevant relationship to the main cast of FFX.
final fantasy x started out as a naive Tidus (player)
As we progressed through the game, we understanded the story completed.
Opening:
Tidus and Yuna’s wedding day, everything seems to be ok but the a group of Guado “Assailants” attack.
Start of Plot:
After making their way to the Guado city (Name of which escapes me), they see it decimated, basically ruins, they run to the entrance to the farplane only to see it blocked by a weird mass of crystallised bodies like the wall near Zanarkand.
End of Initial Plot/Twist:
After purifying 1 more Dark Aeon and searching some Cultist sites, the “Ghost” starts to form into a human-ish form, it the brings back a corrupted form of Ifrit, after the fight, they get blasted back to the coast where the joint Al-bed and church attack happened.
End of Secondary Plot:
After discovering that the city is empty, they walk to the Blitzball stadium to see that the spirit of Yu Yevon still remains however he isn’t evil, he tells the group that Seymour plans to become a new version of Sin, by using the summoning power of the Dark versions of the original Aeons and the remaining fayth energy that remains in Tidus
Epilogue:
Yu Yevon sends Tidus and Co to Seymour’s cult, after fighting their way through, they come across Seymour, midway through being fused with the Dark Original Aeons, however Yuna, using the newly acquired Aeons (Based off of Leviathan and Titan) calls the Originals to her side, effectively causing the dark versions to split, into the light and dark versions.
However I'm not gonna lose any sleep if its not made
FFX is my fave FF and probably always will be
The first game was complete in itself but having Yuna come back to deal with the aftermath of the first game and get reunited with her love isn't bad. I don't want a continuation of the story because there isn't any without trashing what we already have.
I kinda agree with you, if they were going to have a x3 they need to really need to think about the storyline and if it’s worth making.
I want a prequel with jecht auron and Braska. That would be so dope dawg. I want to run through spira with next gen graphics.
I’m sorry X-2’s perfect ending is where the X series ended for me. This Will and X-2.5 bs just ruined X for me
X2 Last Mission ruined it for me....
that ending was stupid
Imo it would be okay go have X-3 only as a prequel, like maybe Braska, Jecht and Auron traveling
I'm up for it as long as the storyline and battle system are good..
which someone pointed out squeenix has shown they can't do either lately.
Things I would like:
~X's Combat System
~Rikku returning/being playable
~We coul get Wakka and Lulu's son to replace them
~I think they should make Brother playable, with his real name, a different hairstyle, and an Axe for a weapon
~Good story, not just that "Beckoning" bullshit.
I say this because Yuna essentially summoned Tidus.
the power of kush
Lmao I was thinking that phrase too haha
Thanks
